My mother and I had visited the restaurant recently on a Monday after having a good recommendation from a friend. The service was good but unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the Pho beef noodle with steak and tendon dish that had been brought to us. When the server placed the bowl on our table, there were NO noodles to be seen, just some beef floating on top. After taking the pair of chopsticks to search for any noodles, there was a small clump/cluster that was on the bottom of the bowl. If this was the only issue, I would have been okay with it, but what bothered me was the VERY small amount of noodle that was there (considering its supposed to be a large). Ive eaten at many vietnamese places and had great pho beef noodle in both RI and Massachusetts. My mom and I will definitely NOT be going there again...

After eating at Minh Hai, I am always disappointed eating at any other Vietnamese restaurant. The food here is excellent and fresh and the flavors varied and scrumptious. I’m surprised more people don’t know about it. If you are going for the first time try any one of the items listed below and you will be hooked. #F Goi Bo #I Bo Tai Chanh (my absolute favorite and very distinctive) #17 Bun Tom #36 Ca Chien Mam Me - Salmon with a tangy tamarind sauce. #64 Rau Cai Xao Lan - Lots of fresh veggies in a great curry sauce The owner and his wife cooks and are open to any requests. We usually like to walk to dinner but this restaurant is our exception.

One of my favorite local places to eat. Minh is very accommodating once you let him know how you like your meal. I always get extra noodles in my pho, no extra charge! The prices are very reasonable and the food is amazing and light in comparison with other Southeast Asian foods. I absolutely love the Coconut Curry Prawns entree! It is a smallish place, so if it is busy and packed, service can be slow but its definitely worth the wait. Its BYOB, so pour a drink and have a conversation while you wait for your meal. Its a time to enjoy being out. I always recommend this place to friends and family and I hope you will also give it a try!

As others have said, service is a bit slow, if they are really busy. However, the food is worth the wait. Ive spent a lot of time in Vietnam, and their pho is just as good, if not better. If you are the only one there, you can get your food rather quickly. But if you are behind a few large groups, it may take some time. My personal favorite is the pho ga (chicken pho). I know its not the normal way of eating it, but, its quite good. The coffee is quite good as well, as is the lemon soda. If youre Ive never tried Vietnamese style drinks, give them a try.

Ive rated this restaurant on Yelp, but needed to write another review for Google. Having a regular need in my life for Pho, I needed to find a regular spot to fulfill this need. Hands down, Minh Hai is that spot for me. Having tried all other local favorites, I am confidently able to state this opinion. Owned by a lovely husband and wife, he cooks in the back and she operates the front. His recipe is just amazing. All others are just bland to me now in comparison. Youve probably driven by this spot a million times. Stop there today and thank me later!

Best restaurant Ive been to in recent memory. This was my first visit to this establishment, a Friday night and it wasnt busy at all. Started off with the Bo Tai Chanh (I) and it was AMAZING! Best appetizer Ive ever had hands down! My main dish was the Bo Hoac Ga Xao Lan with beef (#48) and I couldnt of been happier. I had the waitress recommend it to me and Im so glad I went with it. BYOB, went with a party of 4 and everyone left completely full for a grand total of $77 (plus tip), very very happy and will return soon for more!

Service is rather slow, but theres only one server. I think theres also only one person in the kitchen. I ordered their special pho. The broth is decent, but its not truly pho as its missing aroma from one of the key spices. But to the credit of the cook, the broth is good; its just not pho. The bowl has relatively little meat and no beef tripe, which should be standard for "pho special." I would give this place a 7/10 in comparison to great concentration of good Vietnamese restaurants in place such as Dorchester, MA.

Horrible experience. They give preference to Vietnamese people. 3 tables before me got their order while we are waiting for water and these tables filled before my eyes. After 45 minutes of wait, both of us got different dishes than what weve ordered. Finally we left without eating anything. The guy is arguing that I lied about my order. He is saying that I changed my mind after I placed my order!!! They charged full price. Now Im a lier and lost my money.

I was hoping I would like this place judging by other reviews. I ordered the vegetarian curry dish with tofu. I was disappointed. One piece of tofu was still chilled inside where other pieces were shriveled and tough. Even the veggies were over cooked. The ingredients seem to have been previously frozen. This was a spicy dish but it was too overbearing and there just wasnt any harmony of the curry and coconut milk.

Great food at reasonable prices in a comfortable ambience - love the jackfruit bubble tea and cari tom (shrimp in coconut milk curry) with special rice. This is a family-run restaurant so service can be slow when its busy - the owners are very friendly though and make you feel at home. BYOB, good place for a casual meal, have never felt rushed eating here and the food has always been fresh and delicious.

Ive had my fair share of pho and this is the closest to homemade pho you can get. The broth is light yet flavorful and even if you think you cannot have anymore, you go right back to drinking more of the broth. The owners are up at 5am just making the broth itself. The service is great and you can tell that they really care about you and the quality of the food they are serving you.

I want to review this place higher but I just cant. Its a small family run restaurant and understaffed but it is just inexcusable to serve cold rice and later need to have if microwaved. Food was underwhelming. The food took a long time to be served. Best part is byob. Will come back if they decide to step up their game.

In the past I gave this place four stars because while the food is excellent the service was always extremely slow. This last time I was there they totall redeemed themselves. Had my Pho in less than ten minutes, and even got water when I arrived. If you havent tried the pho here, youve got to try it. Absolute best around.

The food at Minh Hai is absolutely astounding. It is always fresh and repeatable. The service is lackluster and there are sometimes children running around in the background; it is a family restaurant. The only reason I didnt rate it a full 5 stars is because the menu is never updated or refreshed.
