My husband and I went to the Yardley Inn expecting a romantic dinner and evening as the start to our vacation and instead we ended up suffering the poorest of customer service complete with a hair in my food. It started with being seated at the very entrance to the dining room even though we were the first customers in the dining room and there were many choices... when we asked for a table overlooking the Delaware we were told the table was reserved by the person seating us. My husband requested a change of table of the waiter, who sat us at a not much better table where I had a view and my husband did not. We ordered a bottle of wine and appetizers... I had a Marguerite salad... I am enjoying the salad when I feel something strange and uncomfortable in my mouth... I pull out the food still in my mouth where I find a long dark hair attached to the blue cheese and greens. It was quite disgusting and nauseating. We showed the hair to the waiter who apologized lightly and said the manager would be out to speak to us shortly. The manager never came out to speak to us or to apologize. The kicker came when, after we paid the bill and were about to leave, Joe demanded that we speak to the manager... a blond woman comes over to us and states: "I am sorry for your experience however the hair in your food could not have come from any of the staff since all the personnel that handles the food or goes near it has short hair". I found the statement offensive and accusatory... you see my hair is dark, and though curly it is not as long as the one found in my food. The woman all but said that I/we put the hair in the food intentionally. I was so stunned by her comment and attitude that I just pulled on my husbands hand and walked out of the restaurant... how does one respond to that kind statement? I was beyond angry and offended, but refused to stoop to her level, I have my dignity. Over all Poor is too good a word for the Yardley Inn and the service they provided us.

I have been going to Yardley Inn for over 19 years. Frequently, there is noticeable change in quality as they hire different chefs. Today, however, I had the worst lunch and worst service imaginable. I ate lunch at the bar. The waitress served me burnt muffins. The ultimate disaster was an alleged crabcake. I ordered that was It was runny and flavorless. After waiting nearly 20 minutes to complain to the waitress. Service was slow because she seemed to have bar duties in addition to waiting on a considerable number of tables. I decided just to have her wrap it up to see if I could revive it at home. She litterally dumped it into a carryout container with everything else on my plate. I was so disgusted that I paid my check and left without leaving a tip--something I almost never do.

I recently dined at the Yardley Inn and found the atmosphere to be so relaxing. This Restaurant sits on the Delaware River and the views are beautiful. It was a warm evening so we had cocktails on the patio. We then moved to a table inside on the "porch" with River view. I had the pork paprakash and my wife a salmon dish. Both were over the top with flavor. Our server was courteous and very knowledgeable of the dishes and wine list and made sure our experience was enjoyable. We will definitely make this our "go to" Restaurant. Already are bringing friends back at the end of June. Check this restaurant out, you wont be disappointed!!

I rarely ever write reviews, but after my dining experience last night, I felt it necessary to say a few words. My boyfriend and I were first time diners at the YI and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. We made a reservation for 7pm and showed up 15 minutes early. We were seated right away. Every staff member was courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. Oh, and the food was delicious! Everything was fresh, made with quality ingredients, and prepared to perfection. Although a little pricey, the service and experience is worth it. You certainly get what you pay for and we will definitely be going back. What a gem.

I came here with my husband and the atmosphere and ambience was very romantic, unfortunately I felt the food wasnt as good as the decor. I ordered a meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veggies for my sides and the veggies werent cooked all the way(hard) and the meatloaf was also very bland. I also ordered a strawberry daiquiri(virgin) and the strawberry mix was rotten we returned it and informed our waitress so they made us another one. The 2nd one was bitter very bitter. So then I ordered a pina colota and it was delicious. Nonetheless the service was magnificent and the place was beautiful. Just wasnt impressed by the food.

Went this past Saturday for the first time in honor of my wedding anniversary and will not be returning. The pea hummus and vegetarian gnudi were lacking in so much...flavor, texture, etc. Our server in response to my saying that the gnudi was so bland commented that "well, it is a very simple dish..." Simple dishes does not mean lacking flavor...even a simple bake potato can be very delicious if seasoned properly...not a good excuse. They gave me dessert for free but even in that it was made to seem like that was them being very generous. So very disappointed and definitely not wasting my money there again.

Nice atmosphere, good food. Classy without being snobbish or uninviting. My wife and I just celebrated our five year anniversary here. While placing the reservation, I mentioned that we were celebrating a special occasion. I wasnt really expecting any special treatment - maybe just a cozy table - but when we arrived we were greeted with congratulations by several of the staff and found "Happy 5 Year Anniversary" printed on the specials menu. Small touches that made the night all the more special.

We had our daughters first birthday and here and couldnt be happier. The food was great as was the service and the room! Sue was great to work with and was accommodating throughout the whole process. Our guests were impressed with everything and we would not only recommend the yardley Inn but we would absolutely hold another event here! We have also been here for brunch a few times and it has been just as good of an experience - great food, great atmosphere, great people.

Fathers day brunch. Us, the kids and our 14 month old granddaughter. The staff was fabulous. Sevice was spot on. We were well taken care of. Our granddaughter was entertained by every staff member. The menu offered something for everyone. Delicious food, plenty to choose from. Simply put...wonderfully designed brunch. The atmosphere is beautiful. Beautiful river view. Well be back for sure. The valet attendents asked how our meal was!

Every staff member I saw, from front door hostess to the bar & wait staff to kitchen runners, acted in a way showing the guests experience was their commitment. I dined alone tonight. Without distractions, it was easy to see all the staff acted in a way to please...without acting. This is was my first time here and I hope when I return Ill have the same experience. Btw the filet mignon steak & cheese is a great meal at the bar.
