I have traveled all over the country for several years and have patronized hundreds of restaurants from taco stands to five star "A" list establishments, and have never received such horrible service not once but TWICE! The first time my wife and I went to this restaurant was a cold winter evening, and the place was only a third full. We ordered salads, appetizer, main dish and a beer. After about 20 minutes, our main dishes came out. No salad, no appetizer. We ask about it, our response, "Oh, I thought I told one of the other servers to bring those out." Really?... Ok, perhaps an honest mistake. We declined to reorder the appetizer and salad for it made no sense to order and wait for an appetizer and salad after the main course. For the rest of the evening we did not see our server until we had to flag her down to ask for the check. First impression gave me a bad taste in my mouth. 10 months pass and we decide that perhaps things have changed and to give the restaurant another try. We arrive around 6:45pm and ask for a table. The hostess indicates that it will be a short wait and hands us a buzzer. We go to the bar and have a drink. 45 minutes later our buzzer goes off. We leave the bar (giving up our seats) and hand in our buzzer. We literally take two steps and the hostess states, "The server just told me that she is saving your table for a bigger party that MIGHT show up soon. Im sorry but here is your buzzer back. It shouldnt be too much longer." Wait a second, what?!?! There were at least 5-6 empty tables, and what you have basically just told me is that the server wants to wait for the bigger crowd to make a bigger tip, and therefore since I am only a table of two we will have to wait. This is unacceptable!! We waited patiently for an additional 30 minutes (large party still absent), before we walked out. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN, and this review is a warning to those thinking of visiting this place.

This restaurant deserves NO STARS! I went to the John Wright House because my sister knows one of the servers and he asked that we come there before he went back to school. I cannot eat Pizza but her friend only worked the Brick Oven Patio. We visited on a Wednesday evening at 6:45PM (it happened to be “Cigar Night), I asked if I went inside ordered a salad off the regular dinner menu to go paid for it and then returned to our table and ate it with my friends would that be a problem? He disappeared and returned with menus how wonderful I thought! I ordered the “Nantucket Salad $9.50” I was very excited I love all of the ingredients! My sisters and friends ordered several pizzas and appetizers off the dinner menu as well since they seemed so accommodating. Their pizzas came out, then sometime later the appetizers arrived……………………?????? I patiently waited wondering where my SALAD could be. Our server came to me and said he was going to check on it (it is now 8:30) I said that is fine but would you please box it to go and skip the dressing it is late. Fifteen more minutes pass he arrives with the Styrofoam container places it in front of me I look in side to find: 2 - Sweet Potato Chips 3 – Dried Cranberries 2 – Candied Walnuts 3 – Crumbled pieces of Feta Cheese I am not sure if anyone has been able to identify the weed used for the lettuce, I paid the $3 for the Chicken BURNT beyond recognition, and it was about the size of a half-dollar. I simply gave my sister my portion of the bill and walked out (OH, I left the salad on the table) for the TRASH, where it belonged!

I have been here 3 times. The best part about the place is the view that you have over the river and the bridge. I wouldnt suggest eating here unless you get the pizza on days they have the oven open. Otherwise the food is very expensive and very bad. Their menu is very limited and everything is $12+. The last time i was here i got a burger that cost $13.50. For that i figured i would get a really nice burger that was fresh ground beef, which it says it is on the menu. I ordered it medium rare and what i got literally looked like they pulled the patty off of a Quarter Pounder from McDonalds. I dont see how they can say that this was fresh ground beef and not frozen. The person i was with got the catch of the day and that was average at best. We got the creme brulee for desert and that was the worst creme brulee i have ever had. The service was average. While the waitress was very friendly, she wasnt around hardly at all. I ended up paying $72 for dinner for two people with one drink each. I left very frustrated that i just paid that much for horrible food. Another tip, the restaurant is very close to the river so you will constantly be bothered by bugs if you sit outside

Heard good things about Sunday brunch so we decided to try Wrights for dinner. The atmosphere was nice, had live entertainment. Unfortunately, those type of places make their money on the alchohol. Needless to say what our service was like when e ordered 2 juices, a softy drink and coffee. We didnt know that a childrens menu existed. I wouldnt demerit them for having a leaky roof, sloppy exterior or slow service. For me, it is about the food. If the food is good, much can be forgiven. My wife and I ordered the pork loin which wasnt bad, not $20 good but o.k. We order the $12 hamburger for my son but it was unpalatable to him and me. It looked good .. .but that is all. My oldest (16 year old) ordered a samon pasta dish that was just bland. My youngest got mac and cheese that was ... bland and the fruit was forgotten. We saw the waitress 2 times, waited till the coffee was cold till we got sugar. The final insult was the 800 lb ape in the room and that was the bill my wife and I knew was coming. I could have eaten at outback steakhouse twice for what we paid here .. how terrible. Dont go here, sick with what you know!

This was my first time here. Beautiful setting. There was a 1.5 hour wait not surprising on a lovely night. Host sent us to the indoor bar and never told us there was an outdoor bar. First mistake. We decided to have dinner at the bar which was also fine but discovered on our own that there was an outdoor portion. If view the menu and ask about the size of the salads and whether the ceviche and a large salad would be too much food and the bar tender tells me shes not a mind reader. I receive the ceviche which was about 3 tablespoons big with a large plate of chips disproportionate to the size of the app which was tasteless and not fresh. The salad comes and it is drenched in dressing. My husband order a pasta dish which was so salty eve.n for someone like me who enjoys salt. All around service at bar felt as if we were bothering the bar tenders. Terrible food. We eat out a lot and this is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. Not sure I will eat here again. I may go for drinks as the view outside is lovely.
