I found Tropical Spices while working in the area from out of town. Small and off the main road, easy to miss if you didnt know where to find it. The owner is super nice and always takes good care of her customers with generous portions and a friendly smile. Everything Ive had here has been great! The curry chicken here is the best Ive had, and Ive tried it in MD, DC, VA, PA and NY. Jerk chicken here has great flavor and lots of heat. Rice and peas, stewed cabbage, sweet potatoes or plantains wont disappoint! The beef patties are just right, too. I go back to Tropical Spices whenever I can, just wishing I lived closer! Ive never been served a meal here that I thought could be better.

Very small restaurant with just the basics: jerk and curry chicken, ox tails, curry goat, beef patties, fish, peas and rice, tropical rice, desserts and some traditional beverages: Ting, Irish Moss, Marley flavors and others. The owner, Peaches, is super nice and always loads up the container. Highly recommended!

I love finding cute little spots in the tuck.. Like this place. The owner is so sweet, you can feel the love in the food! Always very good food. I got my friends and co-workers to eat here! My favorite is the shrimp curry and the mango drink.
