The moment our server arrived at the table we sensed she didnt want to be there, as there was no smile, eye contact or communication. The menus were slapped down on the table and we were asked what we wanted to drink. The slight roll of the eyes I got when I asked what beers were on tap said it all. My drink came, but my wifes Sangria did not and after 10 minutes of watching our server mess around at the bar, check her hair 5 times in the mirror and around with the staff, I summoned another server who completed the drink order. Upon our drinks arriving, our server came òver to let us Know that this table is not in her section and that she was not used o woringthis secton. THE REAL PROBLEM WAS THAT SHE IS NOT USED TO WORKING. Now, this was 8 oclock on a Saturday evening with a thinning dining crowd, so it wasnt too busy at all, actually quite empty. Our food arrived in a reasonable time with a smile and helping hand by the water boy. Our dirty plates were removed and replaced with more dishes by the waterboy. Our server again disappeared, and left us with empty glasses for well over 10 minutes not once coming over to see how we were doing. When we had fished our meal she simply asked, and I kid you not....."Do you guys are want, like desert or something? Its a real shame that this review is about service and not about the incredible food this place has.....but then again it only takes a bad apple to ruin it for the rest of us. We wont be back.

We were greeted by a young lady who appeared to be either overworked or very unhappy or both. She was cool and unpleasant to not only the patrons arriving but also the servers, other workers, etc. Food was ok, salad was best part. Homemade Sangria was very good. I ordered creme brulee for dessert.....while eating it I noticed a lot of black specks/pieces at the bottom of the dish. It looked like dirt or mold! We showed it to the "greeter" who abruptly told us in her cool, condescending tone that it was not mold, that it was coffee grounds that are always used in making creme brûlée. I have researched this because this is something that I have never heard of, and apparently neither has anyone else!!!! We will NOT be returning ever again! Yikes!!! A big part of the pleasure of dining out is to have a pleasant experience that includes being treated nicely and politely. This did not occur during our time at The Widows. This would be a much nicer place with some personnel changes.

We sat at the bar. It was packed, but it was a Friday night. It took a few minutes for the two bartenders to notice and get to us. We were immediately asked which drinks we would want andifferent were informed that the pretty written tap list was not quite up to date. The male bartender said he couldnt write pretty enough to update it. We asked for menus and ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna and Spinach and Artichoke Bread Bowls for our appetizers and the Widows Chicken Breast Sandwich woth house chips. Everything come out warm and tasty. Got refillsome of our drinks with ease. The bartender was pretty attentive despite the numbers sitting at the bar. Got out on date night (and school dance night) in less than 2 hours and for less than $75. So a win overall.

Service was bad and they automatically put a 20% gratuity on your total bill, which they also will not give individual bills, so you have to figure everyones bill out when there is a large # of people..we were 7...took awhile before we got waited on, we were early, then it took awhile to get our food, then we didnt see our server for a long, long, long time..never asked if we wanted water refills, never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert...we think gratuity should be based on service and not what the Restaurant thinks..some places are worth more than 20% due to great service, but this was not the case tonight at Widows...

I just ate at The WIdows Tavern and it was fantastic. All eight of us that were out ordered something different and we all loved it.My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare (if you like you steak done less the medium well you can understand how hard it is to get a properly cooked steak). My server was sweet and very attentive, as was everyone down to the busboy. My creme brulee was amazing (the vanilla bean on the bottom made it perfect)!!! Cocktails were also great! So many chains make drinks that just taste like fruit juice, but the Widows has a great bar!! Cant wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu!!!

We went as a family to celebrate my wifes birthday on a thursday, they were not busy at all. It took almost 30 min to get appetizers and salads. Then we were asked if we wanted boxes, they did not even notice we did not recieve our entrees! We then waited another 30 min. To get COLD entrees! My wife was disgusted and so was her dad. Our waitress apologized and told the manager who NEVER came to our table. They cut the bill in half. Thats it. No apology from the manager or explanation why. We used to love the place. Not now. You lost some really good customers!

We went looking forward to a good steak dinner. appetizer of homemade chips was soggy and had to request dip that came with it. She-crab soup was over-sherried. My steak and potatoes was sent back because it was delivered cold and most of all, we saw our waitress a total of two times, the rest was the busboy or host delivering which was odd considering the table of 4 right next to us had our waitress visitng them constantly. Very disappointing and over priced for the service and amount of food. Only choice of dark beer was one item!

To start, the hostess was wonderful. She was very pleasant and took care of business. Our waitress Kate took great care of us along with another waitress who was equally nice. We went despite the bad reviews and that is why Im writing this. We had our grandson with us and the food was very good all around. I cant say enough about the staff they were all very pleasant. Try it out you wont be disappointed.

terrible experience! my wife and i decided to try this place out. upon arriving the atmosphere was very delightful, however our waitress was absolutely horrible. she gave us the worst service weve ever had, along with a very snobby attitude. on top of that, the food was not prepared correctly and really over priced. i would recommend going to mcdonalds instead.. you will get better service and food!!

Food is great but the service was crap. Sat at the bar, got ignored by the bartenders most of the night, and when we went to collect the check it took forever to get someones attention. The bartenders were more interested in serving their regulars. Posted Saturday night at 7pm on Dec. 12th. You guys need to invest more time in service.
