The Karlton has potential. Their ingredients are obviously fresh (and apparently locally sourced). However, the preparation was rather oily, spicy and needs an extra something. I got the haddock sandwich and it was just a piece of fish between two slices of bread (bread was good and tasted homemade). Any seasoning they put on it was practically undetectable. Asked for tartar and that improved it threefold. Also, for being only pan fried it was much too oily. The potato pancake I ordered on the side was tasty, though again, drenched in oil. My wife liked the yellowfin tuna "chowder", except it wasnt actually chowder as it had no discernible milk or cream. Was more like chunks of fish in vegetable soup. Her veggie sandwich was extremely spicy (think hottest possible level at an American Mexican restaurant spicy -- no warning on the menu or by the server) and dripped oil with each bite. A friend who was with us ordered the All American Burger and found it dripped oil and was a rather small portion (not much bigger than a 3" x 3" square), though he liked it otherwise. With some refinement of their recipes and larger portions, I think this could be a good place.

My wife and I were two of the just 9 people at the Cafe for breakfast this morning, but the servive could not have been any slower. We were told to seat ourselves and 10 min later we were asked for our drink order. I had coffee and it was luke warm when it finally arrived. It was 8 bucks for two eggs, toast, and homefries. 4.95 at any other cafe around. My wife ordered pancakes and they were completely undercooked. Nobody checked on us after we received our food to make sure everything came out OK or if we needed more coffee/water. Always like to try new places, but this was a fail. Back to Sundays were the food and service are always amazing.

Read good online reviews of Karlton Cafe, and some locals recommended it. We arrived at 11am on a Wednesday, expecting to be able to order one of their famed omelets. Instead the owner/chef said that she had stopped making breakfast for the day. Even though the restaurant was not crowded, she did not cave in, even when our server kindly followed up with her on our behalf. Not seeing anything else on the menu that would suit our tastes at that time, we left, heading over to the legendary Sundays, where we had tasty omelets with home fries, soaked up the local atmosphere, and had a great conversation with Sunday, the owner and chef.

We had Brunch with 18 family members at the Karlton Cafe. The food was wonderful and the staff was most pleasant and accommodating to our party. Chef AJ is wonderful! He provides a creative menu with an upscale flare to the food and nice presentation plate. The Karlton takes great pride in the food they serve and their menu changes with wonderful specials every week. They use local farm eggs and fresh produce in their menu items. My children are 10 and 9 years old and they love the food at the Karlton. We will be returning here many more times!

Chef AJ Is a very considerate, talented chef. I have problems eating out with my gluten allergy, but Chef AJ is very aware of allergies. He cooks with local fresh produce, I recently had ramps...a local green leafy vegetable that was very tasty! He adapts his creations, when necessary, so that I can enjoy too! We have become regulars, breakfast & dinner recently & am very happy to have found a pleasant, comfortable restaurant with friendly, considerate waitresses with a family atmosphere!!

This is by far the most amazing breakfast place not only in Quakertown but within fifty miles. The food is always fresh, the coffee makes starbucks look like instant coffee and the pancakes are perfection. The bad news is a breakfast costs $12ish per person, the good news is you get what you pay for and it is woth every cent. Even with the price tag I take the time and budget to make sure I can eat here at least once a week, pls note I have only ever had breakfast here...

I recently ate here and spent a outrageous 50 dollars for my wife and I to eat breakfast. Breakfast just should not be this expensive. There was one server handling six tables while the owner was behind the counter playing with his phone. I am not buying into the upscale spin this place is trying to present. I would not recommend this place as my first choice of dining.

Best food in quakertown. Though, thats not a high standard. Ive been here twice and both times the servers were short with me, and I habitually tip 20% minimum. Ill just chalk that up to bad luck/them having a bad day. The bacon is some of the best Ive had, but its not enough to make me go back more than once or twice a year.

Love this place , and i dont like to waste time sitting down to eat... But fresh fruit, awesome coffee, try a black eye if you need waking up...Everyone treats you like family, Yes if youre looking for 99 cent breakfast go somewhere else. But the old saying you get what you pay for, it is by far the best restaurant around.

You would think that a place like this would at least "try" to keep their kitchen clean.....the first thing you see when you walk in the door is a disgusting excuse for an exhibition kitchen!!! Chef Ramsey would annihilate these people......I walked out almost immediately!

I stop here for breakfast this morning bad idea. The food was okay but for what it cost I should have gotten 3 times more food! Breakfast for 2 shouldnt cost $25. Breakfast for 2 in any local diner is $12 and you get way more food and coffee is included!

This is unquestionably five star dining in a two star atmosphere. The place is unassuming and looks like a lunch place. But dont let that fool you. The food is life changing. It is the best restaurant secret in 50 miles.

Went for brunch. Creative menu, fairly well executed. Definitely the best brunch option in the area. The service was perfect, friendly and accommodating to small children .

great fresh breakfast options. well prepared and a nice change from the traditional bland breakfast menus youd find in most other places.
