I ate here twice. The first time I was there I thought it was just, by chance, not good. Decided to go there a 2nd time. Ordered steamed dumplings, Kung Pao shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, and general tso chicken. The dumplings were full round style, quanity of 6. These dumplings were clearly microwaved. Tasteless and dry. Notice how I mentioned 3 entrees were ordered? I posted a picture of the quantity of the rice they served with all 3 of these, which was clearly not enough. Dry roasted peanuts in the Kung Pao was not cooked with the food, just simply sprinkled on top. The shrimp was just OK. The sweet and sour chicken was nothing to rave about but the General Tso chicken was terrible. No flavor and fatty. We did ask for the General Tso to be spicy but the waiter decided that he was not going to order it spicy due to age of the child, who happens to love spicy food. Over all this is not a good place. I didnt even mention that the stair way down to the bathroom was very dirty. I dont know how the 4 start reviews are posted here. I am assuming that either these people know the owners or people never had Chinese food other than this establishment. TL;DR this place was a wash

I was shocked at how awful their food is. I tried them because a Russian neighbor said that some of their food is decent, but almost everything that I tried tasted like it was all made out of sawdust. I suspect that the owner wrote their five-star reviews, which sound more like advertisemnts. What a contrast the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown are, where everything is fresh and they all compete for your business. Taste King acts like they are doing you a favor to take your money to serve their stale, bland "food". I would bet that the family of rats who live in the back room like their food, though. You can see the rats on the side of the building. I wonder if they are Chinese rats.

I came here after a coworker told me about this place. He spoke how "good" the food was , quality of food, & large portions. Im so disappointed & cannot wait to get back to work & air his butt out!! I came in time for lunch special ordered pork lo mein & shrimp fried rice ($2.50 extra for cheap frozen shrimp) so my total was $8.50. For the portion I got it was worth $5 at best. They dont give you enough food for the money nor does it taste as good as these people who keep giving this place great reviews. The pros was they do give you ice cream at the end of your meal which was nice I didnt eat it though so I cant tell you how it taste

I have been going here for many years, YES it IS Americanized-Chinese food, they do not claim otherwise, and it is not so common in the far northeast to find authentic Chinese cuisine as you would get downtown. they are a bit pricey, but the food has never been spoiled or stale (though Ive never tried the fish). I have no complaints, the honey-roast pork is probably my favorite on the menu. Consider that most people would only write a review if they had a bad experience, try it once for yourself before believing the bad hype.

Went there with some colleagues, and friends for a quick meal. The server probably thought that we were school kids from the nearby school and basically threw the menu at the table. At the end, when I was about to write a reasonable tip on the receipt even after the bad experience, he demanded that all of us should give 1$ tip per person. So I ended up giving him just 4$ for the tip and left. Never experienced this type of treatment in any restaurant and never going there again.

"Taste King"? They should be called "Waste King" because that is what their food tastes like. They cant even get the egg rolls right as they always burn them to a crisp. They even mess up the fortune cookies which are always stale. I wonder if there is even a single menu item that is fresh (I doubt it.) Expect rancid food, high prices, and rude, slow service.

Today i took my family to this restuarant to celebrate an event because i remember it used to be an outstanding restaurant. To my disappointment every single dish we ordered was absolutely terrible, tasteless and inedible. The exception was the mediocre lo mein. A terrible restaurant overall, but the waiter was nice. I will not be coming here again.

I been coming here for years. It was very smart that a new owner left all the staff working for him. Clients here so used to familiar faces of the staff. Service is very good, some dishes are better than another, you have to come here for scallop appetizer - it is fantastic & claims are very good. BBQ beef ( beef on a stick) is very tasty .... etc

Definitely the best restaurant (of the hundreds which I have been to) for American-style Chinese food. I have nothing bad to say about this oriental godsend. Fresh food; fast, friendly service; competitive prices; huge portions; nice store; convenient location; and most importantly, extremely delicious food.

Disgusting, stinky, rancid food. Their pork and chicken taste like spoiled dog food. UPDATE: I have tried them again and they were the exact opposite. Therefor, I have changed my one star rating to five stars.
