Absurdly overrated. Im vegetarian and my girlfriend is vegan, so wed been wanting to try this place. Its beyond overpriced, and the service was simply not good (very slow). We went on a Saturday at 11am, and it wasnt that busy. So why we waited an hour for our breakfasts, I simply dont know. The food wasnt very good and the different components did not go together. We also ordered a smoothie and it was literally the consistency of chocolate milk. Im just very confused on the reviews for this place, and I think their prices are absolutely ludicrous. I will not be going back, there are simply too many better options anywhere else you turn. Im sorry to say, but this is a perfect example of a vegan/vegetarian friendly place trying to be something so unique and eclectic that it falls flat on its face. If you want to have a fancy take on breakfast, thats fine, but this was a sorry attempt. Id much rather eat at Farmicia, Honeys, Green Eggs, Red Hook...you name it. I had no idea that a simple egg breakfast would be so over-worked that I would find myself eating a ginger salad that was spilling over into my eggs, along with a small cup of black beans on the side? Like what? And the "English muffin" that came with the big vegan breakfast is simply bread with everything seeds. Youre not fooling anyone by calling it an English muffin. English muffins are thin and crispy, not dense and doughy. Id be embarrassed to recommend this place, as it seems to be more about the atmosphere of being different than actually serving good food accompanied with solid service. Fail on all fronts, or at least North Front, that is.

I had the organic chicken, it was a local heritage breed woodland raised chicken that was fed a diet of sheeps milk, soy, and hazelnuts. All local. The chicken was across the board organic and raised in a 4 acre sized roaming area. All local of course. The chickens name was Collin and I was even presented with paperwork proving the chickens authentic locally raised status and his full official name. Again, the chicken was local-- it was actually raised on a farm just 30 miles south of Philadelphia. The owners of this cafe had a good relationship with the farm too, it wasnt just some guy living on a yacht in Miami. It would tear at the core of my being if someone was just cashing in on a trend like organic, but this cafe was not doing that. I actually left the cafe and drove to the farm to confirm all this. A bit of a long day, but totally worth it for the organic locally raised woodland chicken.

This place is great! Had the fried chicken sandwich, which was perfect. Seriously, perfect. Crisp bacon, perfectly cooked and spiced chicken, pickles that tasted like homemade, good trimmings too. Opened with the house pickled veggie plate, which had a good variety of different tasty cauliflower, beans, carrot, peppers, cabbage, etc. My girlfriend is vegan and was thrilled with the selection of dishes. She had the pecan crusted mushroom plate, which was tasty and beautifully plated, and had a bunch of good sauce that was looking for something to put it on, so I gave her my side potato, and voila! Service was courteous and attentive, the beer and cocktail selection was very good, the ambiance is nice and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Definitely recommended, especially for mixed parties of vegetarians and omnivores. Im looking forward to returning for brunch.

We had breakfast on a Sunday, happy with the clearly labeled vegan options. Highly recommend the vegan benedict, it was delicious. Really enjoyed the mushroom "bacon." Hubby had the bananas foster, it was great, too! Veggie hash side was yummy. The server (Lauren) was very sweet. I asked for an almond or soy hazelnut latte, she explained they didnt have hazelnut, so I just got a plain latte (cant remember if it was soy or almond milk, but it was one of those) and it was the best latte Ive ever had. The building itself is great, has so many thoughtful details, lots of outlets for chargers. The bathroom was even great! Will definitely go again! We did make a reservation, which was good, because when we arrived, the young lady who seated us did warn us it could be a long wait. The wait wasnt too long at all.

This place is a bit unsuspecting. Very industrial/modern, but very warm and inviting as well. Great outdoor space for large or small gatherings. The staff was very accommodating to a growing party, and kept our glasses full without fail. They even throw in a little friendly banter whenever checking in on their tables. It makes you feel like youre at a good friends house for dinner! The well presented buffalo cauliflower stands out amongst all dishes, even for a carnivore like myself. Even the chicken tenders have a little something extra to the flavor profile and the 3 dipping sauces make them even better! The cheese plate comes with a base of lavender buds sitting in honey. It makes exhaling afterwards very pleasant. Its hard not to eat dinner here nightly. Definitely a fan.

Host/reception was friendly and accommodating, but service was slow and my overpriced food was cold by the time it arrived. Neighborhood is in the process of gentrification, but not there yet: There was an assault half a block away that I witnessed after my meal, called the police, and nobody came to the rescue. I didnt feel safe after that. Glad they have a good selection of vegan and non-vegan options. Overpriced tea and poor customer service at the coffee bar (they misheard my order, charged me for the wrong drink, corrected the drink but not the price--even after I pointed it out) will keep me from coming back and will CERTAINLY keep me from recommending this place to other people.

Ive been here a few times now, and have had very positive experiences each time. Most restaurants that serve vegan options will mark those options on the menu -- what I love about this place is that everything is vegan unless its marked that its not. Such a wonderful change! Ive had fantastic brunches here, the vegan tacos and scrapple are highlights. The beer flights are a great value and offer good varieties to sample -- including kombucha on tap which I liked more than many of the beers. I have not had too many of the desserts yet. The setting itself is beautiful. If its not too hot, sit in the spacious outdoor garden where you can put your feet up and relax with friends.

Really excellent food. I have the sense that the menu was created by vegan chefs that also like to showcase how well they prepare meat. Its not cheap, but you absolutely get your moneys worth; $7 for a 12oz juice outta certainly top shelf pricing, but, when it hits not only your tongue, but your stomach, youll count every cent well spent. Their burger, vegan scrapple, and the acai bowl are strong standouts, but Ive never had one bite of anything that was less than very good. The service is prompt and friendly; decor is clean and modem and lends a sense of sophistication; the food is truly excellent. One of the best places to get a healthy brunch in Philly.

Came in with the wife and kids last Sunday for breakfast, even though the place was completely full we were able to get a large table. My wife is vegan and she ordered the big vegan breakfast. I am more of a eggs Benedict fan. Both were really delicious and came out fairly quickly considering how busy they were. The best part was that they have a full coffee shop and bar, so I was able to get a cappuccino while my wife had a fresh squeezed OJ Mimosa. Definitely coming back. Oh yeah, the space was pretty awesome too. They had a second floor that i didnt check out, but will next time. Excited that Fishtown finally has a good spot for breakfast.
