THEY ARE VERY SELFISH WITH THEIR FOOD AND VERY EXPENSIVE Every customer has their way of appreciating the food. Well this is my way. I went there only to buy some curry goat stew. I had rice at home already. Usually, when I go to other jamaican restaurants, like Lion Cuisine on Tabor Rd or A taste of Jamaica on Ogontz Ave, even if I know the stew will be expensive, but I know I would get enough for my money. The small platter with rice and beans vary between 8 and 10 dollars depending on the place u go. At Lions king for exemple it is 8 dollars and if I ask only stew without rice for 8 dollars, they will give me enough stew for me and my mom and dad. Yesterday, I went to this restauraut, first of all, it it expensive for no reason. The platter for a small curry goat is 10 dollars. I was like "Fine". It happens. The lady tells me she can give me the stew but it will also cost 10 dollars. Until now, I was still fine. But when I saw what she gave me?!?! Hehe

At 11am there was still akee&saltfish the better part is that they definitely had dumplings banana and yams which I declined. The woman who answered the phone was very pleasant over the phone and in person. (Which I LOVED!!!!!) I only ordered a large thinking I wasnt going to get enough ackee and boy was i proven wrong. I had to save some for later. The ackee was so perfect! Not to oily which would overy power the taste. I hight recommend them over Rons who if you go in at a certain time wont have certain things for you dish or the highly glorified Jamaican Ds who cooks only with oil & coconut milk which over powers the taste of the food. Dont belive me just try this hidden Jeweler in Philadelphia you wont regret going to Family Spot JAY Restaurant, I promise

Funny thing about it is; The customer service is good but the food I ordered was horrible for the price... I ordered a oxtail platter, not a rice and bean platter, macoroni and cheese was dry and bland no seasoning, the cornbread tasted like it was stored in someone pocket book just horrible, and the only thing that was ok was the jerk chicken and cabbage.... Im kind of pissed because the food taste as if it was reheated leftovers, and not freshly prepared... I threw the food in the garbage! First time and last time... Never, ever again! Waste of money! I would prefer Jamaican Ds & Maxwells-

DO NOT EAT FROM HERE ! WORSE JAMAICAN FOOD EVER! FOOD WAS SUPER DRY WITH NO FLAVOR AT ALL! UBER EATS TOOK A WHILE TO GET HERE AND IT WAS NOT WORTH THE WAIT AT ALL. MY FOOD WAS DISGUSTING!!! Generally the food is good. They only serve the sides (especially the rice) in large portions. Rarely do you get a decent portion size of the meat (really skimpy on the oxtail). The service is something to be be desired, just a little more effort please.

My Overall Experience Was Great!...Very Very Clean & The Food Took Me Back To My Homeland (Jamaica ) I Cant Believe They Have Been Open For 2-Years Now & Im Just Finding This Restaurant. Thank You, & By GODs Will I Shall Return.
