Great food, horrible server. I have eaten at El Rodeo restaurants in other cities, and the food at this one was of comparable quality. It is standard American-style Tex-Mex. It was served hot and came out quickly. However, we had the worst server that I can remember having at a restaurant in a long, long time. We (a quiet group of two) arrived after the lunch rush had ended and had to wait a couple of minutes for somebody to come seat us. When the woman saw us, she literally sighed and looked annoyed that we were there. She was not friendly as she asked how many we were and took us to our table. Unfortunately, that same woman was also our waitress. She eventually came and gave us our drinks and took our order. She brought us our appetizer a few minutes later, putting it on the table and then walking away as we tried to speak to her about the appetizer she brought. She never returned to our table--in fact, we tried to get her attention several times throughout our meal and got the impression she was actually avoiding us. A friendly man from the kitchen brought out our food a bit later and offered to take the uneaten appetizer off the bill. The waitress never came back to see how our food was or to refill our waters. A different (also friendly) woman bused our table as we ate, and eventually we had to grab the same bus woman to ask for our check because our waitress would walk right by our table without acknowledging us. Nobody ever brought us a check, so we went to the cash register and the woman who bused our table rang us up. It was terrible and left us really frustrated. I think it was probably just an isolated issue, because the friend I went with has eaten there often and always had great service. I would probably go to one of the other El Rodeos in the area instead of this one.

I went here with two of my friends. I had never eaten here before so I suggested it in order to give it a try, and afterwards I apologized many, many times for having done that. First of all, authentic Mexican food is nice, and I have nothing against authenticity. However theres a difference between being authentic and and having the server not speak a word of English. After having us repeat our order three times to the server, the server reading our orders back to us, and soon later the server coming back to make sure she had our order right, they still got the order wrong for my two friends. My one friend had asked for no shell with her taco salad and still got it, while my other friend got the wrong type of tortilla with his taco. At that point we didnt even want to deal with our server since we were tired of trying to communicate our order to the server who would just keep repeating "OK" while giving us a blank look which made it obvious that she didnt understand what we had said. It also took us two requests and about 20 minutes for our water to get refilled at which point we were about to get up to leave. My order didnt have any mistakes (it probably helped that I simply pointed at the picture on the menu rather than trying to orally make my order), which perhaps would have made me give this restaurant another star for their review, but unfortunately the fact that I got food poisoning from their food and spent half of the night hurling took that possibility away.

I really enjoy this restaurant for not only the food and low prices, but the authentic cozy vibe and the nice service. A few friends and myself go once every other week for dinner and drinks. The drink prices are completely reasonable and the staff are quick to check in on us. I have never had a bad experience, the food is great and I have never had my order arrive wrong. *Personally, the person 3 comments down that complained about their entire experience didnt make any sense to me. To say that you enjoy authenticity but didnt like that your servers primary language wasnt English (and was Spanish), is like an oxymoron in itself. It is a Mexican restaurant, with food made by nice men and women of Spanish descent. Otherwise, really, where is the authenticity? I dont think she considered that her friends did not do a good job attempting to speak Spanish or attempt to do as they had done by pointing at the name (or picture) in the menu. The servers have always been very kind while we attempt to order our food with appropriate pronunciation, often failing miserably. We have still never received an incorrect order. Lastly, who orders a taco salad, without the taco?? Great place! Check it out! If you dont actually like authentic Mexican food, or cant work through minor communication barriers, then perhaps it isnt for you. :)

Delicious! Ive been looking for good Mexican food since Señor Tequilas in Appleton, WI closed 5 years ago. And this is with living in El Paso for a year. The free chips and salsa were a perk. Not the best salsa ever, but good. The margarita was decent (good price). My food all came out super-fast even at peak dinner time. I highly recommend the Queso Fundido- yum! I ordered the chimichanga, fried, ground beef. The flavors in the meat mixture are where its at. I will be coming back.

This is my favorite Mexican place. Great nachos and fresh salsa (which is always a little bit different on every visit) while you wait to order and receive your food. Your food tends to come out very quickly (for example, I just ordered take-out and they told me 5 minutes ... and its 12:30pm ... the middle of the lunch rush). Food is always great and they have cheap lunch specials on Tues/Thursday.

El Rodeo has been bringing authentic Mexican food to Mechanicsburg for quite a while now, but I still love it for the same reasons: very fast service, delicious food, ample portions and affordable price. Tues/Thurs lunch specials are great during the workday (Speedy Gonzales!) but I opt for the Grande Dinner when Im not on my lunch break.

Always good food. Had to Tortilla Soup for the first time. It is to die for. The only complaint I have is that you get only one half of a slice of tomato on your plate when the menu says "tomatoes". I feel it is chintzy to give you only one half of a slice since they have a great business and could afford to give you an entire slice.

Ive never eaten in that restaurant before, actually it was my first visit to the city itself! We chose it randomly and it was great. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the decor was good. I would love to visit it again!

Se tardan un poco en el servicio y la comida no es auténtica, es mi opinión.
