Perfect for a wedding rehearsal dinner! Its hard to find a place thats just right for 25-100 people, but The Pressroom is it. Easy to find, free validated garage parking and a friendly staff helped us relax and feel at home. The food was very good and the service outstanding. On a freezing night, we were welcomed with hot cider and homemade hot chocolate (wow!), then enjoyed excellent passed hors doeuvres (shrimp quiches, stuffed mushrooms, goat cheese and sausage tartlets). The plated dinner was served at exactly the right pace for the guests, and right on schedule. Dinner was a choice of salmon, pork tenderloin or crab cakes, all of which got great compliments from the guests. Drink service was attentive without being overbearing. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, Jan and Shawn especially were very flexible and made sure the guests were happy and all flowed smoothly. The room was nicely appointed and the entire atmosphere was elegant without being stuffy. If you are doing a dinner or banquet for a small to medium sized group, The Pressroom should be your top choice in Lancaster.

We decided to try this restaurant on the recommendations of some people we know. I must say that I was both pleased and displeased. The food was excellent. My wife and I enjoyed our dishes (veal & bbq ribs) & the appetizer. Although it took awhile for it to come out, it was worth the wait. The service, however, was a different story. Aside from the less than prompt service by our waiter (who was busy chatting up people I assume were his friends), the salty language (4 or 5 curse words) was a surprise, to say the least. When he finally sauntered over to our table (btw -- he was in charge of only 2 tables -- ours and his friends), he seemed to be more interested in chatting with his friends. That he was dressed in a polo & shorts was also a surprise considering that our friends had billed this place as a nice restaurant. (Not necessarily bad -- just a surprise.) Finally, the loud atmosphere was a bit of a turnoff. Bottom line: Great food, less than stellar service. If youre looking for a "nice restaurant," Id look elsewhere.

I actually have not eaten there as they had a fire on Thanksgiving when we had planned our first-time experience. However if their food, decor and wait-staff service are anything like their customer service then I would have to rate it excellent! The manager called me on her cell phone the morning of Thanksgiving to inform us of the unfortunate restaurant fire. After she addressed my questions that no one was hurt and the restaurant was salvagable (just full of smoke and unusable for the day), she shared she had called and confirmed two other local restaurants were available for Thanksgiving and provided me the phone numbers. I was blown away by how they had taken care of my family and went to such lengths to ensure OUR Thanksgiving was not ruined (unlike hers). While we enjoyed where we did end up having Thanksgiving, we certainly will return to enjoy the Press Room and thank them personally for excellent customer service in the midst of a crisis. I highly recommend giving them a try.

We are from CA and were looking for a place downtown to eat at. We had a coupon for The Pressroom but planned to just walk around and find a restaurant on our own - and we unexpectedly found ourselves in front of The Pressroom! The seafood pasta was delicious and was a good deal considering it came with a salad and garlic bread and I only finished half of it. The pizza was only $10 and my friend finished less than a half. The wait for our food didnt take very long, and our waiter was really friendly. In addition there was a live band played that evening and we found out from our waiter afterwards that it is a world-famous band that only comes about once a month to perform! They also have a beautiful courtyard in the back with a waterfall/fountain, as well as a large dining room for private reservations. Overall, my seafood pasta was delicious and the dining experience was wonderful.

We had a great dinner here. They have good meat, seafood and vegetarian options for sure. The Pressroom also has some rrally creative cocktail options. I had one with gin, champagne and a youch of orange, it was delicious. The prices are what I expect for a nicer place in Lancaster city. Service was up to snuff too. Our waitress was do nice and attentive. I also like that this place has a garage right behind it and validates parking. Its so convenient and definitely gives it a leg up over other places on that stretch of King street. Their decor is the perfect mix of classy and casual. Chairs and table were really comfortable, and I felt lucky to sit up front by their windows. Great people watching opportunities. I wish I had gotten a chance to eat here and review this place during the summer. Their courtyard is really cool looking too.

Great food, beautiful outdoor dining and Park Bar, terrific live music and warm, friendly staff. Can get very busy, make a reservation! The menu changes seasonally, local ingredients are omnipresent, Chef Matt is gregarious and very talented. Tony the lead bartender is your man for a martini and a smile. Pizza that is both gourmet and simple bakes in the brick oven; it is located by the side entrance and you can literally watch them make it and chat with the cook! My favorite dish is a pasta made from squash....it is listed as a vegetarian spaghetti, and comes with falafel meatballs. My son gets the Marcus Aurelius pizza, and usually Carmen & Davids ice cream for dessert. We have been going here twice a month, or more for the last two years and have never had a bad experience. Brunch is fantastic, best in Lancaster.

One of the worst dining experiences Ive had. First issue,it took over 20 min to get a waitress and a glass of water. 15 min after that we placed our drink order. 25min later we got our 2 glassses of wine! Almost an hour to give our order. They werent even that busy. I ordered Surf and turf and my wife ordered their chefs best Ny Strip. I ordered medium rare and my wife medium well. They got that backwards. After food delivery it was a half hour before we saw our waitress flagged her down and told her. Also my lobster was like rubber and way overdone. They comped us free desert. Under ripe tart chocolate coveted strawberries. My sides where burned to a crisp and my wifes dry as cardboard. We wont be returning and its a shame they have a great location.

One of the positives about the restaurant is its atmosphere. But dont plan to eat here if you have a tight schedule. Ive eaten here twice and both times had a long wait until the food was delivered. They do say it is made fresh w/ each order, but we ordered pizza and they apparently didnt have the oven ready so we waited about 1 hour for the pizza. We did have soup served earlier - after an apx. 20 min. wait. The food was tasty - cream of crab and French onion soup were very good and the crab pizza wasnt bad either. Unfortunately, the waiter who brought out the pizza shoved it on the table and walked away w/o comment. Usually they serve the first slice at a more upscale restaurant.
