Welcome to king of prussias rock bottom dinning experience at The Rock Bottom Brewery. Service is terrible, food is worthless, restaurant is filthy, I wish I could give this place the 0 stars it deserves. I met some friends here for dinner and drinks while shopping during Christmas week. The hostess stand was empty when I came in via the street entrance I waited for about 3 minutes before walking through the restaurant myself to find my partys table. The bar had a decent crowd but not as busy as I expected for Christmas week. I couldnt help but notice how dirty and stained the carpet was in the restaurant it looked like it had not been vacuum or cleaned in weeks. When I met up with my friends they had been seated at a dirty table, covered in left over food remnants from previous guests. I ordered a drink from the bar that took over 15 minutes to get, I was not given or offered any water during my wait. I was so hungry I proceeded to order food despite the red flags this place was giving me. Quick note on the menu- not vegetarian friendly at all. I ordered their veggie burger which I had to stop eating and send back. I had no silverware or napkins brought out to me with my food. Meanwhile all three of our parties drinks were empty and no replacements or water was brought out. Both the manager and waiter seemed very confused on what was wrong with their veggie burger. Everything was wrong with that burger!! It was cold, tasteless, not a hint of seasoning, dry as hell (I was told it does not come with condiments) and the bean patty mixture was literally crumbling apart in my hands as I tried to eat it. Ive been a vegetarian all my life and have eaten different types of veggie burgers all over the country this was by worst Ive had, I couldnt even eat it and I was starving. They even managed to mess up the fries which were obviously frozen, not seasoned and served cold. Our collective experience was so bad we asked to speak to the manager which we would never normally do. He gave some sorry excuses for his staffs poor service saying the bar was busy today and offered to adjust our bill to what he thought was appropriate. At this point we had ordered another round of drinks these took 20 minutes to come out at which point we just wanted to get our check and get back to shopping. Both of the tables around us came in atter us and left before us and they were much bigger parties. Our bill wasnt adjusted either we had a set of drinks removed from the bill, but after waiting almost 30 mins the drinks we didnt even want them. Worst $70 ever spent at KOP. I understand its a busy season for the mall and the workers are stressed, but if your restaurant cant handle a small Christmas rush then king of Prussia is not a good location...unless of course your looking for a rock bottom dinning experience.

The food was very good and the waiter was very friendly but they dont put everything that is on the food item in the menu for some reason, I got a burger and the menu seemed to be very detailed, it stated everything that was on the burger except this one sauce it said nothing about it in the menu and the waiter wasnt even sure what it was so that can be bad for people with food allergies. Every other restaurant Ive been to always stated every topping and sauce and condiments that were on there burger but for some reason this restaurant did not. So I had the burger returned to the waiter and they did bring me out another burger that was without that sauce and it was a very good burger but this whole issue could have been avoided if they put everything that was on the burger in the description on the menu but now that one item I got and it said nothing in the menu about it makes me wonder what else is on the menu that they dont tell there customers whats in or on there food. This can be very bad for people with certain types of food allergies. Now luckily I do not have any allergies to any foods but if I did I could have wound up in the hospital that day all because of someone got lazy or cheap and didnt want to add that item to the menu.

Not even giving this place one star but for posting purposes I have to. We arrived at 9:03 and was seated immediately, after about 15 mins a waitress finally acknowledged us and came over to take our order. She apologized for how long things had took and promised it would be better. Unfortunately better never came, it took about 20 mins before our appetizer came. By that time I was already out of water and despite the waitress walking right by our table about 5xs without asking if we needed anything. We waited an additional 25 mins before the food came. By this time I was irritated as it was 10:10 at this point. I went to speak with the manager then at that time the food came out. The manager apologized and took 40% off the bill but I was already over it. Im real disappointed at how this turned out as the placed looked amazing. Not sure if it matters but we are African American I read another African American with a similar experience. Will NEVER eat here again.

I had to post this review as a word of warning. We had absolutely terrible service on one visit, but equally bad food and beer on another. So my overall rating is 2 stars. Im not saying that I will never go there again, but I wont make it a point to go when there are many better choices in the area. Dont expect much in terms of selection other than the standard chain grub, and most of the beer was pretty run of the mill. You may be wondering how beer could be bad, One was served dead flat and in a broken glass, and another with way too much head, and a straw wrapper floating in it. I know that a crummy server can ruin a descent meal, but the meal just wasnt good. Cold frys, soggy translucent lettuce on our sandwich, and that thing where they serve you the stem of the tomato, its just mediocre in every way. Dont expect much and you wont be disappointed.

How do you compete in a place that already has a sports bar and a pub? The answer shouldnt be overpriced food with mediocre flavor. The ingredients are absolutely fresh and quality, but theyre not put together with any inspiration, if not skill. The beer is reasonably good. I wonder if the prices have something to do with being in KOP? Anyway, the night I went, they were out of, among several things, salad. So I ordered a different side, and it showed up on the bill. The manager did the right thing and took it off and even gave one of our dishes for free, but youre doing something wrong if youre not communicating with your supplier properly to even get a salad on the table. I will not be giving this place a second chance, there are too many other options in the area with better food and more consistent service.

I have visited this restaurant several times (at least 8) within the last 2 years or so, giving it second chances, so to speak. I have never had a meal there I enjoyed. Some food is overcooked and rubbery. Others are mushy (as in mushy bread on my sandwich). Au jus is canned gravy. Pan seared tuna is covered in black pepper and cooked all the way through. Its as if they used to have an awesome menu and then over time cheapened the ingredients and forgot how to properly prepare it. The cost does not justify the meal. The service is also slow. This one is written off for me. Id rather get a sandwich at the food court next door.
