It was our second week in Harrisburg, and my coworker and I were still exploring. Wed tried several different coffee places already, and passing this one in the afternoon, we stopped in to see if it was a likely bet for the next morning. The two guys at the counter were wonderful - friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable - and we agreed wed found our next mornings coffee to sample. Im so glad we did. There were different people there in the morning, of course, but every bit as awesome... And the coffee itself was amazing. My coworker marveled that she was holding the best caramel latte shed had in her life. And my extra-vanilla latte was so good that I scurried back a little later to grab a second one! Id also bought a coconut water for later. Coworker and I both agreed that *this* was the end of our search for a perfect morning brew. So the next morning, for expedience, I bought both my large coffees at once - as well as the coconut water that the proprietor had thoughtfully made sure was in the cooler in case I wanted another. He also remembered exactly what I had ordered the day before. While I was in line one of those times, a woman came in to buy pastries for a meeting across the street in the Capital Complex, fifth floor of her building. The staff offered to rewrap the pastries to make them easier to microwave later. As she tried to figure out how to carry them, they offered to loan her a tray as long as she brought it back. But when she still struggled with figuring out the tray and her own fresh cup of coffee, the guy helping her volunteered to carry it over for her - and out the door they went, across the street and on to the fifth floor of whatever building she inhabited! Im leaving out some details from the rest of my time in Harrisburg, but its probably enough to say that I went back for pretty much all the coffee I could handle, literally up to just before I left. Other things worth knowing: I have a severe milk allergy, and everyone there was completely comfortable and competent handling that. Different utensils, a prep container freshly washed with running water, no cross-contamination at the milk-foaming-thingy, and I was just fine every time. And they have a loyalty card you might as well get on your first visit, because once you taste this stuff and meet these people, youre going to keep coming back. It takes 11 stamps to earn a free coffee. Last word? TRY THIS PLACE. Youll be glad you did.

My husband and I just moved to the area from DC and found this place while walking around and exploring the city. Great atmosphere, great coffee. We loved coming here and have decided this our new favorite coffee shop! We met who I presumed was the owner and chatted with him a bit, he ended up giving us two free drink coupons -what a welcome! The service was impeccable and the atmosphere is warm and inviting...makes you want to stay a while, I think we will. :)

We spent a week in and around Harrisburg, PA and our 6 year old son quickly made Capital Joe our home away from home. It was delightful to plot each days adventures in the warm surroundings. The staff was great! Happy people making happy drinks! Not a bad one in the bunch! Keep up the great work guys you are going places!

Friendly staff that love to tell you the story of how their coffee shop began. A warm and inviting place. I loved the super awesome original hardwood floors and reclaimed brick and wood they used to build the counter. My drink was not too sweet, I love that I could still taste the espresso. It was perfectly blended.

Great coffee. Very rarely does an establishment open the shop to serve strangers coffee. We walked in from out of town, shop was closed, but owner turned on the lights and made us coffee !!! Great service !!!
