Well when I say the "food" is very good, I mean the coffee... This is probably the only coffee place in Chinatown that I would consider meeting someone for a drink as the starbucks on 7th and H is a nightmare, and Dunkin Donuts is even scarier. CCC is a great place to meet up with someone to chat, or to quietly work on your laptop as there are outlets by tables, and Ive never had a problem grabbing a table (near impossible at chinatown starbucks). This place is also clean, quiet, but a bit on the dark side, so dont expect to get much natural light unless you are lucky enough to snag the window table. Excellent coffee and you can get your own french press--which you can definitely only get here in this neighborhood. Plus its always nice to support a local small business. :)

I finally get a chance to visit Chinatown Coffee Co and darn it-- my friend and I show up two minutes after they close. As luck would have it, however, we ran into the owner of the shop! He grabs the door and says "Waddaya think, should we see if theyll serve us?" "I dont know-- you think they will??" I reply "I hope so! Its my coffee shop!" Laughing a good bit, we snuck inside and ordered two tall coffees. The prices were made up and we were off. They closed shop and we enjoyed two of the best cups of coffee Ive had in a long time. The quality will keep us coming back, the customer service will make this place a legend!

They have Kyoto style slow drip cold brew! Its hard to find, but it creates amazingly strong, smooth, and flavorful coffee. It is significantly more expensive than regular coffee, but its definitely worth trying. I like to have it on special occasions. The decoration is sparse, industrial, and modern. The staff are very nice. Dont go there expecting good food, though. The choices are minimal and the biscotti was terrible, with way too much sugar and an unexpected plastic texture. Instead, walk outside and grab food elsewhere. They are located right in Chinatown, after all.

Chinatown Coffee has it: Informed and talented staff; choice beans, beer, wine and absinthe accompanied by an appropriately elite selection of snacks; minimal industrial aesthetic bringing the focus onto your cup and your company - the trifecta of ingredients making a success of independent coffee shops round the globe. No gimmicks, no overly attentive to trend decor details, just enough room for seating and just enough outlets means theyre doing it right. Beware the staring patrons, spotty internet, and volume of the background music.

SO MANY HIPSTERS.....but such good coffee. One of the great independent coffee shops in DC it offers a good selection of coffee, tea, beer, wine, and absinthe. They specialize in offering great rotating pour over coffees which can be a bit strong. They have limited seating and it often becomes pretty busy in the afternoon. My favorite drink is a cortado which unfortunately they only offer to drink onsite. The staff can be nice or snippy depending on who is behind the bar.

Great, consistent coffee/espresso. Order a latte and you wont be disappointed. I consider myself to be a coffee snob and this is the best coffee Ive ever had. They use good fresh organic whole milk, and they dont overheat it. The Black Cat espresso is smooth and nutty. Music is great, staff is great (Ian in particular is friendly, recognizes me as a regular, and chats with everyone). Costs less then equivalent Charbucks. I hope it doesnt change or get overcrowded.

The baristas at Chinatown coffee company will definitely take their time to explain the variety of coffees available. There are various brew methods available for your coffee experience. Choose from either the coffee brewer, French press, hand pour over or Chemex and siphon/vacuum pot. Can be hard to find as it has a small storefront. There is good amount of seating once youre inside. Only about a 2 1/2 block walk from Chinatown Metro Red Line station.

When I went there, on inauguration day, it was empty due to few people on the street in the area. Good coffee, friendly staff, and an unwritten safe space policy. They had Wi-Fi, but i had problems with it, so I used my own. But I liked it best because it was relatively empty, and the other reasons listed, good coffee, and when I asked one of the people working there about the day, they mentioned an unwritten safe space policy

1. Espresso. More smoky and peaty than many other cafes. Not so sour, not so fruity, which is exactly what I like. 2. Latte. Perfect proportion of milk and espresso. Very friendly to everybody, no matter you are a serious coffee drinker or a just-pass-by. 3. Coffee beans. A lot of varieties to choose. Mostly medium roasted. And for coffee enthusiasts, here you can buy intelligentsia coffee -- what else do you want.

I finally got to try the coffee here. I have to say it was decent espresso. Staff could not have been more friendly. They helped me choose a fantastic coffee for my friends birthday. They were able to ground the coffee so it will work with a French press. The coffee is a bit pricey compared to other coffee shops in the area. The vibe is more relaxed. The lighting is a bit dark due to it being in a row house.

Very very nice, chic and industrial feel. A club of artists, from the baristas to the attendees. Clean, and good seating. Free WiFi, that works. Great coffee, the true essence of a play as this. However, I would recommend The Potters House, in Adams Morgan, over this. But, I would regardless recommend you go here. The coffee is splendid! But the atmosphere there is better, especially for working.

Borderline between 3 and 4. Nice brick-and-steel, long and thin space. Password-free wifi. Lots of small tables for working. Ive been here a few times and its usually full or near full. Oversweet hot chocolate. Sandwiches and pastries in theory, but all were gone when I was last there (530pm on a Thursday). Lots of biscotti and dark chocolate bars. Reasonable selection of teas.

Good coffee. If you want it done their way, this is the place for you. Two and a half to three times more expensive than Starbucks. A large iced latte has about 10-12 Oz of liquid for $5 as opposed to 16-18 Oz at Starbucks for under $5. Coffee better than Starbucks for sure, but not for the price. Ill go back to the deli around the corner where value vs. quality is more reasonable.

Great coffee and a nice homely feel. I especially love their espresso choices. Only problem I personally had was the lack of seating space. Very few places to sit if you choose to dine in. It doesnt help that when i visited, more than half of the people there were just sitting around on their computers. Other than that I highly recommend this place. Its close to the metro too!

My only complaint is that I didnt discover this place sooner. What a great coffee shop! Its very modern and hip, but without trying too hard. There are a few seats, not too many, and they have excellent coffee. I also tried their yogurt and granola and was amazed how good it was! Also, one of the baristas owns a hip hop label, and hell play his stuff for you if you ask nicely.
