Im really sad over this place as it used to be one of my most frequented restaurants and could be relied upon to deliver great food and good service. However, I believe there was some change of management/ownership around a year ago. It was very noticeable as we used to literally frequent this place weekly, but we noticed that they laid-off the entire waitstaff and the owners started to do everything. Very soon after that happened, the service went from good to awfully slow, especially when expecting our checks. We used to be able to get in and out of there in about an hour, but the last 5 times we went, it took (I timed it) an average of 35 minutes just to get our checks, even after multiple requests. The last time we were there, theyd hired an elderly couple to fill water and clear tables, but werent given any other responsibilities and it still took 40 minutes(!) to receive our check. Also, the cleanliness has dropped as well as the owners started to place new tablecloths on top of the soiled and dirty ones when preparing a new table(!), which makes me wonder what happens in the kitchen and refrigerator. I hope that they can get it together so I can start frequenting it again and update my review, but until then, we will take our business elsewhere.

Went to this place for dinner with friends. I had planned on ordering from the menu, but after 10 minutes of waiting for the staff to take our order, we decided to opt for the buffet. The food was not fresh and made me sick!!!. AVOID at all costs. List of stuff I had: 1. Chicken Biryani: At best, this was cooked in the morning. It tasted old and reheated. The flavor was nice( though a little too spicy) though the rice was clumpy (again probably coz it was stale). 2. Pakoras: EMPTY DISH which never got filled 3. Daal: YUK YUK YUK. This had a thick film on top which you get if something is left outside too long. This was obviously stale so i didnt bother eating it 4. Mutter Puneer: Was okay( like every other mutter puneer in PA) 5. Himalayi Chicken : This was different from the usual overly creamy sweet gravy that is typical of Americanised Indian Cuisine. It was very light and resembled traditional gravy so i liked it. HOWEVER, it tasted slightly burnt. 6. Bhindi: At best, this was two days old. The vegetable was burnt till it was black and it was overly dry from reheating. I nearly choked on it coz it was so dry and old. 7. Tandoori Chicken: Tasted weird. Was very dry and hard to swallow.

Hello Everyone! First of all ( all the 5* ratings are from folks Non desi that do not know how Desi food is like) Im from NY area Ive been to many indian/pakistani restaurants all over the country & ive had some of the best lamb chops. This place is Way over priced for the portion they serve you. * 2 veggies samosa $5+(cheapest item on menu) * samosa chaat for $10+ on & on... I ordered lambchops 4pcs literally size of chicken leg for $15+ with Onions & red peppers that are served completely raw & on room temp when i asked why veggies arent cooked or even caramelized? In response the Manager said that its only for Decoration. Really? If youre going to serve sizzling desh or tandoori item than atleast heat up the veggies or replace them with something more suitable. Some of the menu books had listed price of 12 & some of had hand written price of $15+ i complained to 2 different personal from management dept & no one seemed to care... Im sure Harrisburg has alot of other spots that serve much better food then this place i dont write reviews but after seeing their careless reactions to my complain i had to take to web.

This used to be a great restaurant. Tonight we got take-out and it took almost and hour and a half even though we were literally the only people in the restaurant. While we waited, we saw the tablecloths with lots of caked on food. (Before it seemed like they changed the tablecloths after each costumer.) This was the least of our problems though. My husband found a toothpick in a plastic wrapper in his food. (I guess we should be happy it was in a plastic wrapper so we knew it wasnt used.) Then, thankfully, the food we had gotten for my son was too spicy for him. When my husband and I had some, we realized it had cashews in it. My son can not eat cashews. Thankfully he doesnt have an anaphylactic reaction, he just vomits. (Now we get to wait and see if he ate enough to get sick.) We started reading other reviews to see if there was new management or what had happened and we saw that someone else got chicken in a vegetarian meal. Lack of cleanliness and super sloooooow service would be bad enough but toothpicks and undeclared allergens in the food too? Avoid this place!

Ive never written a poor review for a restaurant, but the service I had tonight was so inappropriate, I felt it was necessary. The food was great, but after we were all finished, we asked multiple times for the check and NEVER received one. MEANWHILE, the owner kept harassing a girl I was with for her phone number, and she kept (politely) refusing! Finally, after 2 HOURS he told us he had to add up the bill by hand because the bill wouldnt print (when multiple people who arrived to the restaurant long after us left after paying the conventional way). After adding only 3 items together, he determined somehow we owed him 50 more dollars than we had given him. After the girl I was with gave him a FAKE phone number, he finally let us leave with the amount we had given him, which was MORE than enough. So inappropriate. Do not give them your business.

What a lovely place and beautiful people! They received us with great pleasure and treated us very nicely. The food was as great as everything. We ordered the semolina puff with potatoes and yogurt and the vegan samosas topped with chickpeas as starters. The last one was incredible but a little spicy for my palate. Both dishes were super tasty and the portions pretty generous. Then as a main entrée we had the black lentil which I had to admit a little bit in the small size compared to the appetizers. Very tasteful but I liked the cauliflower and potato dish that my friend had better. It came with white rice but nothing else. The naan bread you have to order separately and its not as you may expect. The garlic one was ok but nothing worth repeating. Anyway, the overall experience was lovely and we are going to come back for sure!

The is my absolute favorite restaurant. The food and staff are wonderful. They are so prompt with refilling drinks that my glass never goes below 2/3rds full (seriously). Everything is cooked fresh and so tender that it cuts like butter. They are willing to customize the spiciness of the dishes as much as you want, from "not spicey at all" to "if I leave here without a tongue I will be happy." The lunch buffet is slightly lower quality compared to whats available off the menu, but it is still top notch for a buffet at this price. The decor is a bit on the shabby side, and things look a little run down and random, but dont let that distract you from what is an otherwise wonderful restaurant.
