Impressive, extensive menu and website. Salads: good. Wine/beer list: also, impressive. Wait time for server: reasonable. Servers knowledge of menu: weak. Server admitted three times that she was not familiar with a menu item or description. She also had us repeat our orders 2-3 times because she couldnt hear us. she said it was too loud at the table behind her. she gave my entrée to my husband and his to me. he took several bites before she realized her mistake. maybe I should have kept his salmon. the mahi mahi with beets was, well, just not good. overcooked, tough around the edges. there was absolutely not one thing remarkable about it. the beets were baked onto my plate to where I had to scrape them off with my fork. the risotto (fried) was, well, sorry, but disgusting. to add insult to injury, every time our plates were cleared, (chips, salad and entrée), the server asked us to hand the plates to her. she also handed the plates to us at the table, instead of setting each persons plate on the table in front of them. so bad. then, I tried to salvage the meal by ordering dessert. mistake again. strawberry rhubarb crumble, served in a crock on a dish...I was anticipating the warm fruit with the crunchy topping...but all we got was cold, refrigerated fruit served in an attractive dish. My advice: use your web management and design resources to hire and train a professional wait staff, educate the kitchen staff on proper serving techniques (never, ever ask a customer to pass their finished plate, never, ever ask one customer to pass a fresh plate to someone at the table. really????) Educate the kitchen staff on food temperature...Invite the much - hyped chef to sample some of the offerings you are serving to your guests...maybe thats all you need to do, if he is as good as your website claims. I am sorry for you, the meal did not add up to the hype.

Hmmm. Cannot rate it 0 stars which is generous. Maybe the one star can go to their amazing marketing on their website. Wish the experience was half of what the website predicted. My husband took me there for a birthday celebration. It was AWFUL. After 2 failed attempts for a glass of champagne we settled on the waitress recommended "a lot of people order it". It was decent. Then the rolls come. Nothing better than warm bread with butter unless the rolls are inedible because they were warmed in a microwave and are now tough and chewy. I ordered lobster bisque and my husband ordered the roasted beet salad. The bisque was indelible due to taste and gritty texture. The salad was overpowered with an oniony vinagrette and there may have been 1/2 an underdone finely chopped beet on the 2-3 cups of lettuce. Not so good. We had held onto the wine list so my husband could order a bottle of red to go with our meal. Well our entrees arrived before we could even orders bottle of wine. We asked if they could decant the wine and were told no. We ordered wine, but by the time I was 3 bites into my steak I realized a bottle was pointless. I think it was at this point that my husband had to get up to get a fork since he didnt have one. My delmonico was good, but swimming in butter. The plate special was supposed to come with asparagus but they were out they asked to substitute broccoli but I dont care for broccoli so I ended up requesting green beans, yet the plate came out with broccoli! My husbands dinner, also a special of loin lamb chops was poorly prepared. Oh well, it will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. Oh, I should add there wer 2 wait staff and 1 in training and no more than 4 tables at any one given moment. In my opinion this is nowhere near what a fine dining experience should be.

Where to start? The arancini were the only okay thing we ate, but for $8 for 5 tiny rice balls, they were not worth it. They were also served on a plate of wilted greens. Not appealing. The beet salad was a disaster on a plate. Im not sure how a salad with arugula, smoked blue cheese, and beets could taste like nothing at all. The beets looked to be cut up out of a can. The blue cheese was bland. The dressing had no flavor. Imagine my surprise then when the orecchiette was salted beyond oblivion. The pasta itself was terrible with a bizarre texture. It tasted either like it had been cooked, held, and fried, or possibly microwaved. It was spongy, like perhaps it had been freezer burned at some point. I cant adequately describe it other than a salty mess. My boyfriends ravioli was the opposite texture - gooey pasta covered in a gooey unappealing gray sauce. The ravioli was described as being a broccoli and spinach ravioli with sundried tomatoes. There was no broccoli to be found. The ravioli was also filled with mushrooms, which was not in the description. Nowhere is "mushroom" listed in the menu description. He hates mushrooms. Reading the menu this place sounded amazing. The execution was atrocious. For what we were served, $83 for dinner was highway robbery. We were hoping for a nice evening out and instead left feeling hungry and deceived. Kudos to their marketing team because they can write a hell of a menu. If only their kitchen staff could cook it...

We received a gift certificate from our kids to celebrate our 45th anniversary for the Pines. They had never been there and neither had we. There was no place on the certificate saying that we had to have reservations. So they were unprepared when we showed up. There was no eye-contact with the people who worked the schedules. Then we get shuffled off into a close-quarter table at the bar room, which smelled to high-heaven of fish! It seemed that every time our waitress disappeared she was gone for a very long time. I know I sat there without water for 10 minutes. The waitress never took our soiled dishes unless she came to bring another dish. Never asked how our food was until the very end of the meal when she brought the check! The whole affair was topped off when the coffee came and it was only tepid. I really love my coffee...hot! I think it will be the last time I make a visit to this place!

The atmosphere is wonderful when sitting outside. This was not our first time there but will be the last. We arrived after 8 and ordered appetizer which was delicious. It took over and hour to receive our entree and we both were so disappointed. I ordered the eggplant. It consisted of 3 thin sliced eggplant in what was to be a marinara which was nothing of the sort. It tasted like puree straight from a can. We also ordered the seafood mix. 36.00 for 3 tiny shrimp crab cake and scallop. Waaaay over priced for what appeared on these plates. My advice to the manager .. higher prices dont make yr meal better or bring back customers. You are not a 5 star resturant.. if you want to keep yr prices, then at least make the meal worth that price. I realize that most of the reviews are never.positive and opinions. As i stated, was not our first time there.
