My boyfriend and I decided to order from here because the other two Chinese places were either closed or they didnt have what he wanted. Ive had their food before and I knew it wasnt the best but hed never tried it so he was open to ordering from there. We ordered fried dumplings with extra sauce and a small wonton soup. We came in there like 30mins before they were supposed to close, and the woman at the front counter stared us down when we walked in. We ordered our food and paid, but from the way she looked at us and from how little she said, we felt very unwelcome. The food arrived within the time she said it would (between 5-10mins), and since we didnt have time to eat there we decided to eat in the car. To eat his dumplings my boyfriend needed a knife, so he went up to the counter and asked for it. The woman said they didnt have plastic knives; we ended up going to the pizza place next door and getting them. When it was time to eat we opened up our food and, what do you know, there was NO extra dumpling sauce. There were Iike 8 dumplings and ONE small little cup of that sauce! I paid over $8 for that order, and I sure as hell hope I didnt pay for extra sauce because he didnt get it! Also, the dumplings were waaay too fried and they broke apart easily, something quality dumplings dont do. My wonton soup was bland, with thick, battered wontons I had to practically choke down. The broth wasnt anything special. Also, my boyfriend said the food made him sick. To summarize, the service was borderline hostile, the food was worse than standard, and they didnt give the extra items we requested. Please do yourself a favor and order from literally ANYWHERE else; there are better Chinese restaurants 5-10mins away from Happy Star!

I have eaten take away several times from this restaurant. I usually order on line, and it is always ready when I pick it up. The food is fresh, does not taste like reheat stuff. My favorite is the Teriyaki Chicken on Stick and Vegetable Mix with garlic sauce. Their prices are reasonable. A few cents less than the competition around. Service is friendly, but there is not much talk when taking things to go. I am going to try the Teriyaki Sirloin Steak dinner tonight. And if you want Chinese or Japanese and someone else wants say pizza, there is a highly rated pizza place right next door. Dont take my word for it, try it and make your own opinion.

Despite having mediocre food from the place before, we ordered as they were the only place that delivered to our home that also served Japanese. The food was late. Not forgivable late - really late. I called and was told to wait another 15 minutes as the food hadnt even left yet (55 min. after i ordered). The delivery guy was unapologetic as were the staff who answered my follow up phone call....and to make matters worse, the food was almost in-edibly poor. The sushi was questionable; the Chinese food bland, rubbery and all wrong. They even messed up fried rice. We would rather have no Chinese food than food from there again!

***DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY*** The lady tried to over charge me like I was too dumb to count. I had to correct her on the amount and she tried to blame me. Whatever she wanted me to order wasnt even on the menu and when I told her that she ignored me. She also ignored me when I told her thank you. Then I get home and find that my order was short. Smh. I will never again give that place one penny. They are rude, they lie and try to cheat. I suggest no one go there. I love Chinese food so I definitely will be finding another place to go.

Absolutely horrible. Terrible interaction with customers. The food is poor quality to begin with. Then, they treat you like youre not a valuable customer. I ordered general tso chicken. They gave me sweet and sour chicken. It was clear as day that they had messed up yet they refused to admit it or fix it. They did nothing give me my pizza roll and argued with me for awhile about that too. Then they told me I was a stupid customer and that they dont need our business.

After waiting 5 minutes at the counter where nobody paid any attention to the only customer in the restaurant... the lady who watched me walk in from outside approaches the counter. Still on her phone acting as if the person giving her money to keep her business going is a nobody she stays on her cell phone paying me no mind. I should have walked out hungry and regret eating the food. Nothing special about the food but disgusting service.

Weve been ordering take out from Happy Star for many many years now. They offer good quality and affordable Chinese and Japanese food. Large portions and fairly fast delivery. They do forget some parts of the order sometimes, but replace it with no problem. We now live further away, beyond their delivery area, but we drive up and pick it up ourselves often.

Tried woks kitchen and another place on philmont ave. Nothing is as good as this place. I order all the time. Food was excellent chicken fried rice, but the general tso and sweet and sour chicken is the best ive had.
