The beer selection is probably the best in Erie. That said, they are very pricey if not over-priced since they play games with the glassware sizes. 8% is the cutoff. If you order an IPA or other typically stronger style and it exceeds 8% ABV expect to be served in a 10 - 12 oz "tulip" glass of beer, and it will be expensive. $5.50 for a 10 oz glass of Lagunitas Night Time (8.2%) is pretty expensive. Also, they have 14 oz glassware made to look like pints. Ive rarely been served in an actual pint. A couple of months ago, I was served Ballast Point Sculpin (7%) in a 16 oz pint mixing glass. I guess 7% is OK, but 8% not. 7% might get you a 14 oz glass as well. They attribute this policy to being concerned about over-serving, which is utter nonsense since they dont cut people off much, yet people drink heartily in their establishment, just like most other bars. I spoke with the manager to complain about the policy. He accused me of wanting to endanger the establishments liquor license, peoples lives, his livelihood, and his childrens welfare for merely suggesting people could handle higher alcohol beer served in pints. I would like to point out that they will happily serve you a double Irish whiskey with no problem. Additionally, you can buy as many of the smaller glasses of 8% beer as you like. They are savvy business people relying on their atmosphere to sell their over-priced beer. It works for them. So yes, they offer a constantly changing selection of craft beer and a nice atmosphere to drink it in, but you will end up paying for that. I do need to add that the bartenders are not very attentive (or knowledgeable for that matter). Its "always" been that way at the Tap House. They have an attitude that you are lucky they serve you, and theyre are literally too full of themselves. The manager said, "You will not find a better experience in Erie". Thats pretty boastful but I dont agree. So why have I gone there? I like craft beer, but mainly because my friends like the place. Thats changing though, theyre starting to wake up.

We tried to find a new cool place to eat. We checked it out and the menu looked good and if wasnt too expensive. When we got there, their were a bunch of people outside eating so we figured if they were busy it was probably good. We were soooo wrong. Our server was very rude, like completely walked away like we werent even talking to her, she acted very snobby the whole time and when we went outside for a minute and she saw us standing right by the door when she came out, they threw away our drinks and then acted like it was our fault. Then the food was not good at all, it was so plain, nothing special, no flavor whatsoever. The potato salad was the only thing worth eating(it was really really good, but it came in one of those little tiny dressing cups and you had to pay 59 cents more to get that as your side instead of chips... really??) I dont complain about anything ever, ever, but I wouldve rather walked half a block down the street and went to McDonalds, and it wouldve been 1/4 of the price. If their was an option for 0 stars, I would pick that. At least get a nicer server other than the long blonde haired very rude girl, a aweet server would at least make it a better experience.

My girlfriend and I have been going to Tap House pretty much weekly since we moved to Erie 5 months ago. Tonight we went there for dinner like always and when I ordered a beer the waitress I.D.d me and went to go get it, then she came back and said they wouldnt serve me because my girlfriend is underage. When I asked why its never been a problem before the waitress just said that its a "house rule," and was pretty rude about it. Seriously, whos ever heard of not serving alcohol to someone at a restaurant because of someone elses age? I kind of think that they were just trying to get rid of us, but I have no idea why. Well, they lost two regulars tonight.

This place is amazing! Were new to the area and this place has quickly become our favorite! They have a very large beer on tap selection and the food is amazing. We got the nachos as an appetizer, which was very good, I got a burger and side salad and everything was perfect! BUT WHAT WAS REALLY AMAZING...the strombolis! My fiance had the cordon bleu stromboli, and I was so jealous I didnt order it for myself! It was DELICIOUS!! The staff is very nice and knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed our time here!

This is a very popular hangout in Erie, especially on the weekends or before/after an Otters game. They have a lot of beer to choose from and just about every beer drinker should be able to find something that they will enjoy. You can also take home a growler or crowler of any of their drafts. Their food is also very well done. I really enjoyed the stromboli, pizza, and pizza muffins on my couple of visits here. The tap list on their website is also updated almost every day which is great.

Tried to order wings heard they were good. Got there on a Sunday. Mid day. And they were out of wings. Next I tried to order a sort pretzels they didnt have that. And the last thing I wanted some fries just plain they told me that they dont do fries.when it was clearly right there in the menu. Loaded Pub fries.. I ordered a Yuengling draft because it was cheaper than the bottle and she brought me a bottle. Over all was a bad experience the waitress wasnt very nice

Still very good... The u-pick-6 family of English-style pubs were pioneers in the Error area and have cemented themselves as the leaders in the English pub style experience. U-pick-6, Tap House, Public House, and Harbor House... you know what to expect in every area of town: great tap lists and wood fired pizza... Except no pizza at the original sir where it all began: u-pick-6. : -D. For food go to one of the others. Excellent and unusual beer at all...

Hostess nice, server nice, atmosphere cool, burger TERRIBLE. No better quality then McDonalds beef. Way over cooked and chewy. Should not be called a burger, maybe pre cooked ground beef on bread. I should have known better when the waitress said they couldnt cook it medium rare, a meaning its already cooked just needs be warmed up Id go back for beer, but thats it. Not a food destination by any stretch.

Loved the atmosphere and the beer. Service was great. My girlfriend and I both had your classic burger. I was a little upset to get served a burger that was straight from the freezer. I knew from the shape, consistency and texture that it wasnt fresh and came from a box. From the reviews I read your other offerings are great. I will steer clear of your burger on my next visit.

Dropped in for dinner on the way through tow heading to Syracuse. Just happened to also be happy hour! Half of beers & half off pizza/flatbreads, yes please. Excellent beer choices and the buffalo pizza had the perfect flavors. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Dont know if we will ever be back through this part of the US, but will be hard to pass up if we do.
