The Collegeville Diner used to be great. The service used to be super fast and very friendly. I went in last night with my friend who has a latex allergy and asked what kind of gloves they use. They got really weird after we asked them and said that they dont know what kind of gloves they use. Its really important that they know that because there are so many people with latex allergies! We asked if we could see the gloves to see if we could figure out if they were made of latex. Then the manager and our waitress yelled at us and told us we could not see the gloves… like what??? Our waitress didnt even know what latex was and spoke very poor, broken english. Anyway, my friend ended up not being able to get anything and on top of that, the service was extremely slow. We were there for over an hour when we originally planned on just getting food really quick and then leaving. Because the diner is under new management, it sucks. Dont waste your time. They are rude people who gave us awful service and horrible attitude. The food tastes a lot worse than it used to. I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone. Especially if you have a food or latex allergy because they dont care what they feed you. I shouldnt have even left a tip for our waitress. My friends and I are very upset about this experience and will not be coming back. Also telling friends and family not to go here anymore either. Probably the worst restaurant service I have ever gotten.

Disgruntled Cook; We stopped in The Collegeville Diner Friday late morning for breakfast. The food was average but the service was good. We finished our meal, said thank you and tipped like we always do. When we got to our car there was a disgruntled individual sitting behind our car. I figured he was just a employee taking a break. He turned out to be the cook. This guy runs up to our car claiming that we scratched his car. We never touched it and quickly figured out that he was looking to submit a false insurance claim. He held our car door open and would not let us leave. He said he was calling the police so I pulled to the other side of the parking lot (to get away from him) to wait for the officer to arrive. The officer found no damage on either vehicle so he sent us on our way. The owner claimed that he would make it up to us because of his employees actions. When we called the diner to see what would be done, he claimed that he suspended the cook for 2 weeks and never offered us any compensation. We find this to be unacceptable. He should have been fired and brought up on charges. We will never eat there again especially with this nut job working there and I would NOT recommend this establishment to others.

WOW!!! what can i say,my jaw hit the table when i saw the new prices at the collegeville diner. They just didnt go up a little but ALOT!!! instead I was trying to find the cheapest thing on the menu. We used to like going here for the prices, but not anymore i will no longer be going here. The food is not that great and we overlooked that because this was the only diner in the area that was inexpensive with big portion sizes and great prices, we would always bring left-overs home no matter what we ordered. Well say good-bye cause now the average plate is between 17-18 dollars or higher with a few plates around $16 and dont forget about those $8 dollar omelets that used to be way much cheaper,WHAT HAPPENED!! the service is attentive at times depending on who you get,but thats a gamble to say the least. They forget food orders sometimes and have to be reminded. This place went downhill fast!!! and when we told the manager on the way out he could of cared less what we had to say. All i can say is we used to be regulars but i want people to understand that this is not the friendly, attentive, generous place it once was. Stay away!!!!!

I went here with my friend on a Galentines date. The food was great we were promptly greeted but after our orders came out, we needed to excuse ourselves for 5 minutes. We told the manager and our server we would be back; our food barely touched. We come back and everything is gone. Our server was distraught, so we figured maybe we could just get a free slice of cake and the thrown away food voided off our bill. She agreed. But when we got to the register to pay for what we did eat, we were rudely told by the manager to move out of the way. Then, we find out that we have to pay for the food THEY threw away...because you know, a 3 dollar slice of cake for free makes up for my 30 dollars of food you tossed away. Ridiculous. There was no apology and the owner was one of the most rude and incompetent people Ive ever met. Food is 5 stars. Service is pathetic. If you go here, dont go outside, dont go to the bathroom....or youll end up like us. No leftovers, no money, and no reason to come back.

I NEVER give bad reviews but this one I have to do. Here is my story from which I will never come back to this place since management does not own up to quality and basic customer service when there is something wrong with their service. My wife ordered and received a fruit salad with spoiled fruit. I am glad she did not vomit since it was foul. We did not make it a big deal just returned it. At the end I go pay at the register and the manager asked if we liked the service. I explained the situation, so we dont get charged for the fruit salad. She moved to a guarding position saying that she was there when they cut the fruit and all was good. Basically she did not believe me and dismissed anything that I was saying. Again will not come back to this diner since they are there to make a buck without caring of the basic revenue maker, their reputation from the service they make.

The food here has gotten bad. The old owners made sure everything was fresh and their food was excellent. Now its just over cooked diner food. The veggies are from a can and have no flavor! The previous owners used to make green beans with almonds or in a delicious tomatoe sauce. Now its just over cooked boiled blan veggies. Also they use imitation crab meat in their crab cakes, actually made my stomach sick! Also before it changed owners they had at least 10 dinner specials that would change each night, now your lucky if there are 4 to choose from. My husband and I used to go to this diner every other weekend it was that good. Now its time to find a new favorite restaurant because this place is just plain awful!! Dont waste your money. Also, they serve stale bread, but you have to ask for bread now or they wont bring you any.

My daughter was in the diner with some friends around 10pm last night and said the waitress and manager were very rude to her. She has a life threatening latex allergy and was inquiring about the gloves in the kitchen. (we ask at every restaurant and never had anyone not comply with our request). She said no one would tell her what kind of gloves were used in the kitchen. She asked to see the box for herself, but they would not let her. She ended up canceling her order and just watched her friends eat. I am so disappointed that she was treated in this manner. She said the Manager implied that she and her friends were pulling a prank. We are sorry to be so inconvenient to you to keep my daughter safe - all other restaurants care about the safety of their customers.
