A Bridal Shower Cake: Ordered a cake in the colors of Purple & green utilizing some "Beach umbrella/ palm tree & chair" cake decorations (these were ordered on line) with a Lavender colored cake. The Butcher Shoppe was able to duplicate the picture perfectly. It was a hit. Delicious too (I had two pieces). My son enjoyed the idea of proposing on the beach and this was ideal. Being the Mother-in-law to be, this was FABULOUS! Everyone loved it. Initially, I had a great deal of difficulty locating someplace to create this cake. Wish a picture could have been posted on this site. The price was also in my budget - what pleasant surprise. Thanks Butcher Shoppe. 5/17/2014

Let me tell you about The Butcher Shoppe...I absolutely love shopping there!! Theres nothing I dont like about it. From the freshness of the meat, to the variety of the meat and fruit and veggies... From the loaves of sourdough bread, to the sweet cheddar beef sticks... From the daily and weekly sales, to the kindness and friendliness of the staff... From the great prices, to the amazing scents that hit you the moment you walk through the door. Oh yeah... And Im not even talking about The Big Oak... The incredible restaurant thats right next door. Oh my goodness... If theres a perfect place to shop, The Butcher Shoppe comes really close!!

Everyone loves the Butcher Shoppe at my house. My only complaint is that often I am at the deli counter and the staff does not change their gloves between meats or customers. I dont want my sliced turkey breast touched after touching bacon. Ill skip ordering if Im unsure. The gloves arent just to keep your hands clean--contaminating cooked items with bacteria or raw meat is unacceptable. Please change gloves.

I really enjoyed it here. The deli meat we purchased was great, we also got a very reasonably priced Italian sub which put anything from Subway or the like to shame. The cafe had the most amazing orange-mango iced tea Ive ever had. The employees were nice, which is great, especially considering how many people were there. I will definitely visit again next time I am in Chambersburg.

They have a lot of interesting food choices here that you dont normally see for sale at other places, so it allows me to try a lot of new things I otherwise never would have. It is a nice clean store and the prices are pretty decent. They have a great selection of stuff, but I wish their hours were a bit longer. Its a pretty nice place to shop.

We were interested in purchasing some ground beef brisket to make burgers. The counter worker asked the butcher about the cost, and the butcher quoted $7 per pound. When we said this was fine, we heard the butcher in the back say, "Sell it to the sucker." What kind of business is this????????????????????? We will NEVER shop here again.

Fresh salads, a variety of soups, baked goods, pastries...they have it. Great for business travelers who dont have a kitchen to prepare meals. This place offers home cooked meals at a great price. Travelers passing by Chambersburg who need prepackaged food should drop by here...especially those on a camping trip. Love this shop!

Amazing home cooked food! I have Celiac and soy allergies (a staff member checked and their mayo uses soybean oil, FYI) so a lot of it, I cant have, but family loved it! And there was surprisingly a lot of other foods there I could enjoy. Just great quality stuff! I go here and stock up every time Im in the area.

Best home town butcher shop in the area. Best ham spread, chicken salad, cheese spreads, soups, and the list goes on. Fresh meats abound. Why buy meat at a chain store when you dont know how long is been laying there when you can go to the Butcher Shoppe and know youre getting it fresh.

My parents from Chambersburg and moved out of state 50 yrs ago. I still visit yearly and love to purchase meats and other products we cant purchase at home. Quality meat and staff will pre order for us. Great place to visit and shop for any meat or food popular to the area!

The delicatessen and prepared foods section are the best anywhere. Their devilled red beet eggs are the best in the world. Montgomery pie is tops. Love the green bean and ham soup. Excellent meats, sausages and cheeses. Stop in the Big Oak Cafe for a break from shopping.

Butcher shop, The have fresh meats and it seems to have fresh fruit and vegetables. I love their home made products. Soup, ham salad, fruit dip and meat sticks. Just to name a few. Big oak, I only had coffee there once but it very good.

Always fresh and amazing! Great chicken Caesar salad and the orange aid is beyond refreshing from the Big Oak Cafe. The delicatessen makes wonderful sandwiches and salads! I highly recommend the cream of crab soup, to die for!
