ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Since posting my updated review, things have gotten a little better at denim coffee. The space is starting to come together, with better attention paid the atmosphere of the shop, and slightly better quality control. The coffee can still be hit-or-miss, but its probably the best coffee that you can get in Carlisle. Carlisle could still use a true quality coffee shop, but for now denim will do. UPDATE: I hate to say it, but the quality of coffee has really gone downhill since their opening, and the space still feels like the shop opened 3 days ago, not 4 months ago. I recently have gotten cappuccinos that taste burnt and watery, with thin overheated milk. The space, while having potential, feels empty and uninviting. With no art or decor on the walls, large empty food cases, and often no music playing. With some love and attention payed to the space, and REAL QUALITY CONTROL payed to the coffee, this could be a good coffee shop. For now, dont bother. ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS Finally, good coffee in Carlisle! Ive enjoyed 2 drinks so far; an espresso shot, and a small Mocha Latte. The espresso was pulled pretty well, with no burnt or watery taste, but had little crema. The flavor, however, was very good and had a delightful sweet character without being overly bright, the perfect characteristics for espresso flavor in my view. I got this cup on their second day open, so Ill chalk up the minimal crema to dialing in a new machine. Ill get another one in a few days to see if things have improved in the texture department. The mocha was very well crafted, had excellent milk texture, and I was pleased to see that the small came in an 8oz cup. Many flavored "espresso" drinks from corporate coffee chains can be as large as 16oz, and the majority of that space is filled with the syrup and milk, leaving the espresso masked. Its always a good sign when a coffee shop will offer flavored drinks in small sizes, it shows that theyre proud of their coffee flavor and are not afraid to let it show in the drink. Good on Denim for letting that great espresso shine! Ive yet to try any of thier black coffee offerings, but it seems that there are single origin offerings on menu pulled through a chemex, and standard brewed coffee as well. Ill have to try them soon, and if theyre as good as the espresso offerings Im likely to be pleased!

I had my first experience at Denim Coffee today with my mom and a close friend. We all 3 ordered something different and then sampled eachothers drinks. We came to the conclusion that the latte was one of the best we have ever had. We also got a hot chocolate and a tea. I am a huge tea fan as well and can appreciate a good cup of tea especially with loose leaf tea but it was served at a luke warm temperature and wasnt even steaming when it was handed to me. The hot chocolate came out the same way. I would have preferred to have a hot cup of tea/ hot chocolate on a cold evening. Overall though, I thought the place was very good, had friendly employees, and would definetly recommend it others!

The latest attempt at a local coffeehouse in Carlisle. The setup is very trendy, and theyll talk to you about the different beans they carry, their local roaster, and the preparation techniques (aero press, pour over, etc). On the surface they seem to be high-end and high-quality, but theyre definitely still getting their feet under them. The espresso is great, and the macchiatos Ive gotten have been perfect. But the americano and pour over were both exceptionally watered down. TL;DR: the quality of their product is good, but it seems like the staff is still learning how to prepare it. Ill definitely be stopping back again and hopefully give it more stars.

Had a latte with soup and sandwich (grilled cheese and tomato bisque). Upfront, it seemed a little bit pricey, but the food itself was very good and there was a sizeable portion of it. Coffee was well-made and reasonably priced, so even if I didnt want to come back for the food, which I would, I would come back for a good cup of coffee. Right now, theyre doing a "soft opening", which means that, rather than a grand opening, they are easing into business. I am excited to see where things like the menu and decor go from here. If youre looking for a good, simple lunch or cup of coffee, I would recommend Denim Coffee.

Great atmosphere! Next time we are staying to enjoy our drinks there! The baristas were friendly and answered all of our questions and helped us choose the best drinks for the moods we were in! The drinks were superb and very well priced too! Loved our experience and will definitely make this one of our frequent spots!

Great place for coffee! And conveniently located right on the square in Carlisle. Warm and friendly with a wonderful selection of drinks and eats. And best of all they roast in-house which makes the coffee even better. Ill be a regular in no time at all. "The usual, please."

Love it. This will be my go to stop for coffee. I know everyone likes drive thrus but they have parking right beside their shop and in the back. Never have had to search for parking. Less than 5 minutes to get my parking and coffee. My two favorites are the latte and mocha.

The coffee here is roasted locally by the owner and is always top quality. The location in itself is great. Cant be more centrally located than right on the square! Sit at the counter by the huge side window for a great people watching experience.
