Skip over this place and you will be happy. Grabbing Wawa down the street would have been a 10x experience. New owners need to shake up the food first to draw new blood into that place. Me and my husband went for dinner last night and left hungry and nauseous from the food we did eat. Everything was just butter flavor oil saturated and the crappiest, bottom barrel food you can concoct in your senses. I have nothing against hole in the wall diners- I love them actually. This place though is in need of salvation. I had a side of egg salad literally on my plate as a side dish and thought it was butter for almost 10 minutes. I wasnt touching it and my husband asked if I know what was in the dish. I realized that if you got really close you could see white flecks of egg white inside the tumultuous mix of egg salad Spackle. That was the consistency of it it- I could have used it to fill in holes in a wall. I pray for the bowels of the patrons @ Tom Jones.

My family and I ate here frequently for many years. It was the only 24/7 restaurant and the food was always good and with portions so large we always took some home. Reading these reviews, looks like the decline was noticed by others about three years ago and that coincides with my own experience also. For nostalgia reasons my grown son and I had gone here every year on Christmas Eve and it still was terrific as long ago. However, about three years ago my usual seafood meal shrunk, portion-wise and the baked potato also was half the usual size. The meals presentation on the plate only played up the meager offering (nothing left over to take home). Such a disappointment after so many many years of getting a lot of great food at a reasonable price. Is it under new management? Theyre losing a loyal customer base I suppose. Quality went kaput.

Excellent place to go if you are looking for a diner in the Delaware County area! Great tasting food for amazing prices. Especially check out their "Blue Ribbon Special", which gives you a choice of coffee(free refills) or hot tea, juice or a soda(you get more with a soda), two pancakes, two pieces of bacon, two pieces of sausage, and two eggs cooked to preference, and a side of toast (your choice of white, wheat, or rye toast), and ALL OF THAT is under $5. You cant beat a deal like that! Other lunch favorites of mine include the Jobo, which is an excellent bacon cheeseburger, and the Alecco, which is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich on a steak roll. The service is also usually great service. Sometimes it gets packed, but thats what you have to deal with sometimes when you go to a great restaurant!

It has been years since I have been here. I walked in for breakfast and a few people at the counter and all the tables vacant. The owner told me to sit anywhere so I selected a table near the front. The waitress was Missing In Action, so the owner gave me a menu. The waitress appeared and took my order. The food came up rather quickly and was good. I ordered the Blue Ribbon Special. I noticed that the table next to me still had not been bussed, the food and dishes were there before I arrived. It was not as if the waitress was busy or anything. Two people were still at the counter and two other men were in a table. She just stood by the counter and "shot the breeze" with the owner and guys there. I dont think I will back anytime soon.

I went here on a Sunday morning around 5:30am for breakfast. Not at all crowded (as you would expect at that time). I ordered 2 eggs over-easy, canadian bacon, an OJ, with "rye" toast. I liked: The service was nice. I didnt like: The food was horrendous. The rye toast immediately deemed the nickname "sink toast" because it looked like they pulled it out of the sink. It seemed they toasted it in the microwave to melt the butter but that couldnt be true because the bread was completely flattened as if they buttered it with a meat tenderizer. The cheese-grater style hash browns tasted like cleaning detergent. There was hair all over my booth seat.

The new owners have done a great job of cleaning and updating the interior, and are continuing to do so. My wife and I use to eat breakfast there once a week but stopped as the quality of the food slowly declined. We decided to give it a try under the new owners. Service was fast and friendly. However the meal was subpar. My eggs were runny, the hash browns were overcooked and brittle, and the scrapple was tasteless and overcooked as well. It may be just a one time experience and will get better as the new owners put their own brand on things. We will give it another try down the road after they have had time to get settled.

We visited here last weekend for my husbands birthday breakfast. It was recommended by a friend. The service was amazing! Every staff member was so polite to us and overly eager to serve us. Even with our daughter spilling her milk all over the floor. They assured us not to cry over spilled milk. The prices are really low, it reminded me of what a diner should be. We had great food and a wonderful experience. Even with the old school of paying by cash, we didnt mind in the least! We recommend this place to everyone truly looking for great service, a blast from the past, and good quality home cooked meal!

Service with a smile and good prices. I cant say much else positive about this place. They dont take credit cards or checks after 9pm. The decor looks to be from the late 70s, right down to the ketchup bottle. I have a milkshake and two appetizers. Onion rings and corn bites. The milk shake tasted good but had tiny bits of gelatinize stuff that made it kind of a turn off. The corn bites were good at first but were not tolerable I got down to the second to last bite. This is a good place for senior citizens who think all food tastes good. I however am in my late 30s and am a gourmet chef privately.

Despite new ownership, Tom Jones is still Tom Jones. The new owners have kept almost all the old staff and are introducing new menu items daily. Tonights special was Lasagna, Salmon, or Grilled Chicken Caesar salad. Yes, a salad at Toms. The table behind me got the Lasagna. She took half of it hone the serving was that big. It looked delicious. Im anxious to see the changes that will be made and see how the old will blend with the new on the menu. They will be taking plastic soon too. Ive been going to Tom Jones for 40 years and am planning on going for awhile longer. Its that good.

Youre not signing up for a 4 star restaurant. you go there for the $2.99 blue ribbon special breakfast. where else can you get 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, toast, juice and coffee for that price??? And isnt it just a little bit fun to go someplace with original orange vinyl seats and waitresses with cute little red skirts?? its a retro experience. if youre on the frequent flyer plan, theyll know your name when you go in to sign up. The waitresses are pleasant, they keep your coffee cup full and the quirky little things make it uniquely Tom Jones.
