I have never had a problem here at chumleys... Friendly staff, excellent ales and very good food! The ale selection is wonderful for the area & they always have new things on tap. The prices are good, high to some but it keeps the college trash out... they have wings specials that bring in marco lager drinkers at times, but for a craft beer lover it is great. The noise level is very low so you can actually talk to people without shouting, and the bartenders are veyr educated about what they sever. Mike & Andy are exceptional at the job and the make sure people are taken care of. The Head Cheif has changed but the food remains excellent, The only think Id change is to get the damn sports of the TV and play the sound of the films they show in the theatre section. If you want the gameon, cheap wings and crappy lager go to good old days you slobs...

Honestly, Im not sure why this is calling itself a restaurant. I went with some friends while I was home visiting family, and we were all fairly disappointed. Not only were we the only ones in the building besides the staff, the whole place did not have a restaurant feel. Apparently, they try to turn the main floor into a dance/club area on weekends by removing the tables and that definitely shows. All the furnishings are easy to move and cheap looking, and the food selection was minimal (although it all tasted good which is a plus). The Capital is definitely more of a bar than it is a restaurant, and if you understand that going in you should be fine. I just feel that, in converting an old movie theater, they had so much potential that has been wasted on the final product.

Its a typical crowded college bar. Lots of room to dance, but the floor is often sticky. Drink specials a the real sell for the place.
