Vegan Treats is not vegan, nor do they even care to be. They have admitted that they are 100% aware that their sprinkles and various other ingredients are not vegan, but they fully intend to continue using them. Vegan Treats, youre diluting the word "vegan" and making it harder for vegans to get the things we need. Stop it. Go back to being actually vegan and then we can talk. --- Full review: Vegan Treats is using non-vegan items in some of their food, like Chex (which has D3) and sprinkles with confectioners glaze (made of crushed bugs). Vegan Treats has also now blocked me and at least five other people who have asked about this (politely!) on their FB wall and deleted our questions. Thats really troubling on multiple counts. They seem to be only willing to respond via email to questions about their non-vegan ingredients, but theyre accusing people of "fighting" them for expecting vegan items to actually be vegan. Heres their email response: "We have chosen to utilize a brand of sprinkles that does contain Confectioners Glaze. Although this is a very controversial ingredient within the vegan community, we would prefer to be transparent with my customers, and allow them to make the choice for themselves. We do utilize Chex brand cereal in our bakery. Although their source of Vitamin D can sometimes be controversial, we have chosen to stand in line with various guidebooks and to consider this cereal to be vegan." "We hope that the vegan community can join together to recognize the importance of vegan businesses, and instead of fighting one another, we join together to discourage our friends, family members, neighbors, and strangers from patronizing traditional restaurants, bakeries, and grocery store aisles." "Although you may have decided not to consume anything containing confectioners glaze, Vegan Treats is going to continue in its use of our current sprinkles, albeit with our eyes open to commercially-available, confectioners glaze-free sprinkles." So, yeah, really disappointing. I love how they use the word "controversial" as code for "not vegan," as if theres actually any legitimate debate about whether crushed bugs and sheeps wool are vegan or not. But because Vegan Treats seems to shockingly not know the answer, Ill spell it out for them: those ingredients are not vegan. Never were, never will be. By using those ingredients, your bakery is no longer vegan. Ironically, contacting Vegan Treats about this issue and then posting reviews about it is indeed the very action they suggest: recognizing the importance of vegan businesses. Were not going to come together to support a business that lies about being vegan; wed rather support a business that ACTUALLY IS vegan. By using animal products, Vegan Treats has made itself into exactly the "traditional" establishment they want to discourage people from patronizing. So I guess Ill follow their advice and never patronize them again.

The treats offered here are phenomenal. They have two kinds of soft serve on tap with a swirl option. The first time I went they had cheesecake and chocolate malt. Last time there were chocolate brownie and peanut butter. If vegan soft serve isnt enough for you, all the cupcakes, cookies, brownies and cakes would surely have enough options to entice anyones sweet tooth. From light little fruit tarts to chocolate speculoos mousse cakes topped with smores, theres something for everyone. The danishes are MASSIVE and as delicious as they are big; same goes for the cinnamon rolls. They also offer custom orders like cakes, cupcakes, etc. For the last two years my partner has gotten me a custom made cheesecake. Last year it was a peanut butter cheesecake topped with peanut butter brownies. This year it was a plain cheesecake with a brownie crust topped with THREE layers of brownies and drizzled with chocolate. Yes there is a theme in my treats, but they can do anything you think up. I believe they even do wedding cakes. Check out their website or their Instagram @vegantreats to see just how excellent and creative they are - youll be drooling. While its about 1hr 45min from my house in Philly, its worth the occasional trip, especially when we plan a day hike up that way and hit them up for treats on the way home. If youre vegan (hell, even if youre not and just like sweets) and you havent been here yet, youre sorely missing out.

We were headed to the Da Vinci Science Center in nearby Allentown and came across this place almost by accident. Our daughter is allergic to dairy and eggs (and most nuts) so we decided to stop in to see what they had. The bakery is located in a non-descript building in an unlikely neighborhood, but we were pleasantly surprised by the fun 50s decor inside. The real surprise was the selection and qualitiy of the treats, however. My daughter tried the cookies n cream brownie, my son had the peanut butter cheesecake, and my husband and I shared a slice of carrot cake. They were all among the best weve had, vegan or not. Weve done our share of sampling vegan bakeries in much larger cities, and this one definitely gives them all a run for their money. Oh, and the coffee was pretty good, too. Staff was efficient, friendly and knowledgable about which products contained nuts.

I drove 2 hours to get here and it was worth every second of the trip. As a vegan, Ive really missed things like soft serve ice cream and donuts, and I found it all here at vegan treats. My fiance and I are planning to use them for our wedding, so we tried some of their cakes, and they were absolutely delicious. Looking at a few of the negative reviews on here, I think people were expecting "vegan" to mean "healthy", and, well, thats not always the case. These treats are free of eggs, milk, and butter - but theyre certainly not something you should use to plan a diet :p Oil, sugar, shortening, and coconut milk are all vegan, yet will expand your waistline all the same. Either way, its absolutely delicious. I recommend it to any vegan or non vegan.

Every time we are on a road trip to RI or NY, we always try to make this a stop. I have been to various bakeries in the east coast and even London! But I believe nothing beats Vegan Treats. Every single desert tastes even better than things that include milk, eggs, and cheese. The chicken and waffles donut is phenomenal. Their soft serve ice cream is creamy, flavorful, and never too sweet. I disliked boston creme doughnuts until I tried theirs. It wasnt too creamy, or overly sweet, the dough was soft. I love this place! I recommend the cookies (ANY of them), peanut butter bomb, death by chocolate cake, pumpkin cheesecake!, cinnamon rolls, just everything really.

I walked in and everyone just stared. I waited until someone baking decided to stop what they were doing to ask if I needed anything. Not too friendly. They are far too expensive for what they are selling. I get that it costs more for substitutions, but still. Everything is ten times the price, yet half the size. Im not saying make them bigger to fatten America even more, but for the price of their desserts, you should get more. And not that you would want more, they arent even good. The owner told me how moist their cakes are...well moist they arent. I had two different cakes and they were so dry. Its a neat looking shop, but thats about it : /

Im not a vegan by any stretch of the imagination, but this little bakery is top notch. Their cakes are so delicious and fun. If not for the name of the place, I would not even know they were vegan desserts. Vegan Treats also helped me put together a perfect little engagement cake for my girlfriend when I was going to propose to her. Simple and elegant with two decorative wedding rings on top. She loved it and we ate the whole thing. I love this place and so do many of my friends. None of us are vegan. In summary, I would recommend these tasty treats to anyone, vegan or not.
