Ive been to Olives and Peppers several times. The food is very, very good and have never been disappointed. A few days ago, I met a few girlfriends there for dinner. We arrived around 5 pm - very few tables were taken. We had one more in our party and she was going to be around 10 minutes or so late. We asked to be seated and were told they only seat when all parties are there. I can agree with that policy when they are busy but there were plenty of tables. We were asked several times if someone had taken care of us. I finally said yes, half way taken care of. I said we wanted to be seated as we all wanted to order a drink and our friend was due any minute. The gentleman that asked that question did have us seated immediately. Thats where it fell apart. The waitress was rather surly. One friend in the party asked for water. So you think the question from the servers mouth would have been "can I bring water for anyone else"? That was not the case. I had to ask for mine. My other friend asked for a refill on her iced tea. It never materialized. We asked for more bread and was brought 1/2 an order of somewhat stale bread. However, there was a table in front of us and the waitress was falling all over herself to help them. They got the warm "just from the oven" bread. Were we being "punished" for insisting on being seated? Sure seemed that way. A childish, vindictive waitstaff reflects poorly on the management. Perhaps she was related to the owners, who knows. Just a very disappointing experience at a restaurant I always respected.

I was excited to take my mom here for her 77th birthday from all the great reviews but sorry to dissappoint, I wont be going back. We were a party of 8. I "called ahead" as they suggested at 5:45 for 6:30 arrival. They said 20 minutes after that. Well, got there and had to sit outside for an hour and watch traffic go by. Just as we were about to leave to go elsewhere, we were called inside. By the time our table was ready and we were seated and finally received drinks and salad it was 8:20 p.m. Service was slow with our waiter (other wait staff seemed to work harder). This place is the size of a large dining room that could easily be in a house down the street from me. So was the food worth the wait? No! Nothing special in any of the 8 dishes we all ordered. Nobody seemed to be that impressed. Just another italian restaurant with way too much hype and way too long of a wait. I felt very awkward sitting outside staring a route 8 for well past an hour after calling ahead and will never do that again. Place is too small and food average. Waiter was slow in getting second round of drinks, time between ordering food and salads/soup came was 25 minutes. During dinner, nobody checked to see how we liked anything or if we needed more drinks until over 1/2 way through. Also we had to get up and ask for our check. Bad experience that finally ended at 9:45 p.m. I gave 2 stars instead of just 1 simply over the wording of disliked it or hated it. I dont like saying hate.

My husband and I ate at the Penn Township location. Service was awful, but the food was very good. We went for lunch and three hours later we were walking out the door. At one point four tables occupied customers, never more than four with two waiters working. My husband ordered a pizza and I ordered the lobster and crab stuffed ravioli. We gave the waiter our order. Then sat and sat. No salad, no bread. Finally, our first beer came along with bread. We sat. Then the salad came and immediately our meal. The waiter brought the blue cheese for the salad when we were done with the meal. The second beers came after we were done eating (we ordered them halfway through our meal). But we accepted them because it took 20 minutes for them to figure how to use the gift card that was given to us. While employees stood around the cash register, other customers were ignored. One customer walked to the cash register and asked if she could pay. The balance we owed after the gift card was under $10. I think that should have been written off. The manager did not even come over to offer an apology. The food was very good so I think I will give it another try, but not with the same waiter.

The pizza at Olives & Peppers is fabulous - I try to have it every time I come home to visit my parents. However, I dont suggest dining in. We came for an 11:30 lunch, a party of 6, and there were only two other tables occupied. We ordered $13 hoagies and we were told that we couldnt sub out the bowl of pasta that comes as a side but that we could buy a side salad for $3.50. While we were waiting, we asked for some bread as another table had been given a basket. The waitress told us that bread is not included with hoagies but we could buy some for $2.50. We turned her down but she must have felt mercy on our toddlers as the table of two ladies was given a second loaf and our wait crossed 30 minutes - she brought out a half loaf that was "extra". After 40 minutes, the kids pizzas arrive, and another 10 minutes later our hoagies arrived. She then brought out another tables food before bringing out our pasta. Then, when she finally brought the check, it took another 10 minutes for her to run the card. All told, we were there for an hour and 15 minutes for what we thought would be a simple early lunch. Good food, but very frustrating lunch.

It has been a very long time since I have had their pizza. So when it was suggested to order one, I was excited because the pizza in the past had been excellent. Not now!!! The pizza sauce was very sweet and extremely spicy. Almost like it had way too much pepper in it. We ordered a whole hoagie along with the pizza and it was $13!!!!! Very expensive and not much meat on it. The whole experience was very disappointing. Contacted the restaurant and shared my opinions, they offered our money back, but it was a long distance from home. Will not order again. Cant believe how many people like this place!!! The quality and taste of the food was just plain lousy.

For our first visit ever we stopped in today to purchase a gift card and have lunch. Started out by asking the hostess if they had Gift Cards and she replied "No, I am all out." and literally walked away and into the back?!?! I started to ask if they would be getting more in and whether we could be seated but she disappeared?!?! Oh well, they lost the $50 for a future gift card purchase and also any chance of us patronizing the establishment. Olives and Peppers came highly recommended but it is a shame I will never find out. One thing I will not tolerate is poor customer service.
