Didnt get the "full experience" when we visited, so thats why the three star review, but will update it once Ive gone back. We stopped in here on a whim one evening, as we were driving past and were starving. Little did we know that they were closed, but the side door we went in hadnt been locked yet. When we came in, we noticed the place was empty, however the server behind the counter immediately greeted us with us a smile, instead of an annoyed "shouldve locked that damn door" look. There was very little pizza left in the case, so we ordered a couple slices, bread sticks, salads, and drinks. After getting our drinks and sitting down, we noticed the one other person working getting our salads from a bin that he pulled from a fridge. Thats when it started sinking in, so I casually walked over to the front door and looked at their hours sign, and whispered to my husband, "ummm, they actually closed twenty minutes ago!" The server gave us our food, and the two cleaned up while we hurriedly (and embarrassingly) ate. Originally, I wouldve said the selection was horrible and the food was "end of day, sat under the warmer too long" not great, but given the fact that they were closed, I cant give an informed opinion on the food. But the fact that the two employees didnt shoo us out, didnt act annoyed, but happy, and didnt even mention that they were closed, was impressive and endearing. Ill definitely be going back, when theyre open, as I feel theyve more than earned my business, and hopefully the food will live up to the awesome service!

Mezza Luna is a mainstay in the Eugene/Springfield area. Their pizza is New York-style (thin crust, generous toppings without being too wet), and their ingredients are always fresh. I have a slice or two every so often, and its always a treat. The last time I was there, the pizza I ordered came with a delicious garlic white sauce, fresh mushrooms, fresh peppers, mozzarella cheese, and... now Im getting hungry just typing that out. Definitely worth a try for a quick, tasty slice.

Im thrilled that there is now a Mezza Luna in Springfield. Its easier to park and not as far a drive for us. Their salads are spectacular and an enormous amount for the price. Every kind of pizza you could ask for is perfected baked. The staff is always friendly and seem genuinely happy to see you. One of my favorite restaurants.

My neighborhood spot. They have a decent gluten-free crust (alas, a consideration) and I am assured their regular crust is delicious. Service can be hit-or-miss, but if you see that as part of the charm, youre home free. I wish they still sold Omission gluten-free beer, though.
