We live on a private golf course in Rancho Mirage, CA so we are used to unhurried, courteous golf and great playing conditions. We experienced all that and more yesterday when we played Wildwood for the first time yesterday! We had a 10:36 tee time, we were greeted by a couple of friendly 20-somethings and signed in as a foursome. We teed off on time and were immediately impressed with the beautiful condition of the course and the surroundings". The greens were immaculate, smooth and fast. We completed the front nine in a little under two hours. The entire round in under four hours! On the fourth hole we let a twosome play through and we were never pressed by any golfers the rest of the round! In fact, on the back nine, we had no one in front of us and no one within two holes behind! Perfect! The pro-shop/club house/starter appears to be brand new and beautiful. It sits on a hill with views of the first and tenth tee boxes and fairways and the 9th green. The panorama is magnificent, with forested hills in the background. Around the course, the fairways and greens were consistently well maintained. Unusual for a public golf course. The cart paths are not paved and can create some excitement when going downhill and I imagine can be pretty dicey when it rains. The golf carts are motorized rather than electric and do not have gps. But they are well maintained and clean. We made another tee-time for tomorrow - I can hardly wait!

It really is too bad. Weve played here for years but will never play here again. The course is very nice, but the "Marshall" is bad news. We always play pace and often end up waiting, but this time they booked us so tight that the players behind us were cheating just to keep up and keep the group behind them off their tails. Sooo... the Marshall decided he was going to watch every single stroke we played. Every stroke, he was there. How annoying is that?!! You just try to go out for a nice day of golf with your friends and this dork is watching every shot like a hawk. Lets also not forget the lawn blower that kept us waiting for 5 minutes on the first 3 holes. Want to tee off? Nope, gotta wait for the lawn dude to get off the fairway! And then they blame us for not keeping pace. Oh yeah, and Mr. Marshall, glad to see youre power trippin on your low wage job! Whatever makes you feel good! Dont mean to be like that, but were nice people. And his attitude and extremely aggressive behavior was completely uncalled for. And whatever happen to "play through" ? We werent in any rush... weve let players and groups play through all the time. But Mr. Marshal says we dont do that. You either play turbo golf or get out... there is no play through allowed here... ever! Thats complete BS and we all know it. Seriously people. This place is not worth the trip or your time. Be strong, be local, and dont support Wildwood!!! Spread the word...!

This is one of those places that begs for the option of zero stars. I really never thought I would give out a one star review, but this placed definitely earned it! Absolutely deplorable. I went here as part of the pre-wedding festivities for my daughter. I will skip the parts about the complete lack of professionalism and verbal attacks by managers of the establishment. That alone was enough to earn a one star and to never return here again. Instead, Ill focus on what started the unbelievable, worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was not going to be golfing due to physical reasons and so I asked for a cart. I was not allowed to PAY for a cart to travel along with the group. I was absolutely not allowed to go out with the group unless I was golfing, even if I paid! After reading another users review about how rundown and dangerous the carts are, maybe it was for the best. Regardless, I was disappointed to not be able to participate in what was supposed to be a nice afternoon before my daughters wedding. If this place was free, it would be overpriced. Nobody that I know, will ever be giving this establishment any kind of business.

Four of us from Honolulu, Hawaii played this course on September 26, 2016 and we absolutely enjoyed the round. Great staff, course and surroundings. Had previously called Bob to inquire about the course due to the mixed reviews. Wildwood GC provides exceptional value and we put this course on our play again course whenever were up here in the Portland area. Our foursome consisted of three Waialae Country Club and one Mid-Pacific Country Club members. Mahalo Bob for taking great care of us. Returned to play with some other buddies on May 6, 2017 before heading back to Honolulu the next day after a five day golfing tour in the greater Portland area. They were impressed Wildwood is on their "will play again" list. Thanks Tom and the rest of the staff for taking care of us and welcoming us back. Will be back up there in early-October with the original 2016 Honolulu guys! PS: Wildwood has great drainage so this is one of three courses we now know that is playable after heavy rains.

Really wanted to rate this 4 or more. The work they have done in the clubhouse is fantastic! The layout of the course is great, and was nice the last time. There were a couple of issues that made this last trip very unpleasant. 1) the cup cutter they are using is creating messed up holes, 2) they really need to stop spray painting the cups white, or invest in a tool that can do it correctly, 3) they need to fire the player assistant that was parked on a path near the 13th green. He had a horrible attitude when I was going to get my ball which was right off the path. I pulled the cart up the path and he was aggressively yelling about it. He told me to get my ball and go. Apparently the path had a sign saying off limits, but I did not see it, and the cart could easily have been parked 5 feet away and "off the path" but he had to yell about it.

Went here with my wife the other night for the first time and had a great experience! Amazing value for the price. The staff was very friendly, giving us guidance on how each hole plays and showing us where all the practice facilities were. The view from the clubhouse is fantastic and they had a wide assortment of beverages. The course played very well. Lots of opportunity to attack the holes, but you definitely have to keep the ball straight otherwise you wont have the angle. The elevated tee boxes make you think about the shots. Conditions of fairways and greens were great. And the views throughout are wonderful, such a pristine location to play but not too many trees along the fairways that make play frustrating. A well maintained course and operation that we will definitely visit again and bring our friends! Thanks Wildwood team!

Another horrible experience. While the course is in good shape and interesting, I walked off today after a 3 hour 15 minute front 9.....The course does not have marshalls and if you call the pro shop they simply state "everyone is keeping up with the people in front of them"........Totally missing the point. If someone is playing so slow it takes more than 3 hours for 9 holes and are holding up everyone else - they should be REMOVED from the golf course. Too many times I have been out there when they have allowed foursomes who have NEVER played golf to hold up others and make the experience terrible. Something should be done to better manage the flow of play!!! Today they refunded me my money after 9 holes (TOTALLY MISSING THE POINT). I wont be back until the course goes under new management.
