It would have been better if the staff knew their jobs. The Receptionist would just seat people, but when no one was leaving or coming in she apparently served no other function. Another young woman kept appearing wearing an apron and moving from one side of the restaurant to the other side of the restaurant. I wasnt sure of her function since she didnt ever seem to be carrying anything or fulfilling any type of function (other than to appear wearing an apron). Our waiter was an older gentleman (explained to us by the bartender as one of the managers). He seemed nice enough when he paid attention to us. We ordered drinks, and the drinks arrived quite punctually. We held onto our menus for awhile and we did notice what other posters have commented on: There seems to be some sort of preference going on as to who gets their orders taken and who doesnt. This older couple in their 60s (my wife and I are in our 50s) sat in the booth beside us AFTER we were seated and enjoying our drinks. Somehow their order got taken first, their food arrived first, and they were paid and out the door well before us. The attentiveness just goes out the window once you get your food. After getting our food, my wife and I had a pleasant meal. I ordered the Rib Eye steak and it was delicious. My wife had the chicken breast with strawberry salsa, and this was also very good. But our plates sat, and sat. We were going to order Dessert, and it wasnt until 10-15 minutes after we had completed our meals did our waiter ask if we wanted Dessert. We made a huge mistake. We said wed like to look at the Dessert menu. Another 10 minutes pass, and now we have the dessert menu. Another 10 or 15 minutes later, the waiter returns to ask if weve made a decision. We have... Check Please! Only 5 minutes go by while we wait for the check. And then... We dont see our waiter ever again. After 10 minutes I go up to the Receiptionist to ask her to ring us out. She cant. No cash register at her door. I go to the bar to ask the bartender to ring us out. He cant. Our waiter was the manager, and only the manager can ring us up. After another 5 minutes, another manager shows up and rings us out... Finally...! Freedom... If you go there to eat, please enjoy the chefs food. Its quite good. Just bring a book, a movie, or a pillow to occupy yourself as the front room staff havent a clue as to how to efficiently handle a restaurant.

I recently moved to Hillsboro. This restaurant is right across the street, and looked like a great night for a Friday dinner. I would ultimately leave disappointed. We ordered, and our server was polite, but not really knowledgeable. I in no way consider myself a wine expert. My wife was pondering the Red vs White for her cherry /almost stuffed pork chops, so we asked the waiter for advice. He simply said that white and red both go well with Pork. True enough, but I questioned, "Wouldnt white be a better pairing because of the cherry / almond. At which point he agreed, and tried to sell us the most expensive bottle of wine on the wine list. None of this was surprising, or the reason I walked out. 45 minutes after ordering out waiter returns to apologize for the wait, but offers no recompense for it. Having worked as a chef I know that it is within their power, and polite to at least offer a drink form the bar. A draft beer would have sated me sufficiently, and cost the bar well less than $2. 10 minutes later I asked for the check for the drinks. Our waiter again apologized for the wait, and said he would return with the check. After waiting a few more minutes for the check, during which time checks and drinks were brought to the other tables by our server, I left the money for the drinks on the table and left. I walked into a nearly empty restaurant on a Friday night with an obviously full staff. I worked as a chef for over 12 years. I would never have allowed this in my restaurant. Furthermore, the menu was uninspired. The two page menu had very little variation and nothing signature about the restaurant at all. I also could not believe a restaurant that advertizes itself as a steak house had only three steak options, and no dark beer on tap OR in bottles. I was very disappointed. I do not expect to even give this restaurant a second chance.

Blatantly neglectful jerks! We go there at 8:30pm for happy hour and sit down outside at one of the corner tables. As we are just sitting there, some other groups of people sit at the table next to us and in front of us. Finally, I get tired of waiting and no one has gotten served so I walk in an get the attention of a waitress and she follows me outside with menus. "We will get someone to come clean the table right away" was the last thing she said to us. No one came for quite a while. Finally a guy pops out and brings water to the table in front of us. We didnt get any nor did the table next to us. Then a waiter shows up and take the orders from the table in front of us that got water and the table next to us. We are ready to order and then he just goes inside?! What the hell! Im wearing a bright red jacket and my friend is 64". We wait some more. No one comes. So we left and went to the nearby New Seasons and grab some food, check out, and walk back right by our former seats and guess what? The menus are still there. No one came to our table after all that time. I am not happy about this experience. I had high hopes for this place since its so close to where I live. I dont know if any of us are going to give them a second chance. It also looks like a lot of the great reviews on here are planted. I wouldnt be surprised at all if that was the case.

For all the location and hype I was expecting more. My standard for rating places is on the food, service, and price. I will say they pleased me on 1 out of 3. I came here with my wife, son and another family on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Nice place. They have an upscale feel. It wasnt crowded at all. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. We were a large party so I do appreciate his level of service. But this was the 1 out of 3 that I mentioned in the beginning. It pretty much goes down hill from here. I was expecting great food to come busting off the grill. But the first problem is that our orders were coming out all wrong. Missing items, wrong sides, and things like that. But the cardinal sin was my overcooked burger. I asked for medium and got overdone. From what I heard, it sounded like they were either understaffed or there was someone extremely inexperienced cooking the food. Now my last criteria is price. I will say that if the food was done better that I could justify the prices. While not pricey exactly, I would say I expected more for the money and unfortunately they missed the mark.
