Outstanding. Important tip: arrive early on a Friday night. You WILL wait a long time if you come during peak hours. Unlike many places they will actually give you an estimated wait that is on the shorter side. 90 minutes wait is not atypical. I honestly hesitate to review Nuestra Concina because a part of me wants to keep this place from getting so popular that I cant get in. The flavors are never average mexican fare. Wonderful recipes, you wont be disappointed. The Sopes de Chorizo are a great example, order them as an appetizer and youll wish you had ordered another plate. The mojitos, quality sangria, good drinks. Stick with their most popular drinks. Going off menu hasnt resulted in great cocktails weve found. Liked: unique flavors and Sopes de Chorizo Disliked: long waits and no reservations

AMAZING FOOD. Went there on a busy Friday night for a date night with my wife. The wait was 45 - 60 minutes, so we walked around the neighborhood. Then went back and ordered an incredible cocktail. They really know how to make some seriously great drinks - they even have house-infused spirits. We sat at the kitchen bar and watched the cooks make food while we ate. We only ordered off of the appetizer menu (2 each) but that was plenty of food. Everything was SOOOO good. The food is amazing. We had sopes, and enchiladas, and prawns...OMG the prawns, grilled to perfection. The food is out of bounds. Its so good. I cant wait to go back.

That was delicious and we sat at the bar and watched the chefs. I had poblano chile stuffed with squash--excellent and even more outstanding was the chicken mole our 14 y/o son had--so moist and the sauce--complex and ever so tasty. We also watched someone making several sizes of fresh tortillas and an empanada filled with custard. As we sat there three cocktails went by with smoldering cinnamon sticks. This place is often packed--we have driven by many times and its crowded. We went on a Tuesday at about 5:30 and there were a smattering of patrons and it was filling as we left. Felt comfortable, too!

Recently checked out Nuestra Cocina with a friend. It was incredible! We figured it would be a little busy on a Friday night (understatement of the year) so we arrived around 5:30p. After 6pm, the wait was an hour and a half. Yes, its that good. Naturally, I got the "Margarita de la Casa" -- let me tell you. Best margarita in Portland. Truly. I will be going back _just_ to have one of them (or 5) at the bar. If that wasnt enough, their food was killer. Went with the tapas style dinner and had four to five appetizers. I recommend listening to their specials as we ordered both of the appetizer specials.

After seeing all the outrageous reviews I just HAD to try this place. I attempted to go two times before I was successful. This place is so popular, and they dont take reservations, that if you want to go you should get there before they open. We got there 30 minutes before they opened and there was about 15 other people in line. By the time they opened their doors the place was at capacity. The atmosphere was probably their best aspect. Their closed patio made me feel like I was in Cabo. But, the food was bland. I dont even remember what I ordered. My other two friends werent too impressed either.

So the wait was not bad because we were at the bar where Shawn made us two of the best drinks my wife and I had ever had! I had the Cadillac Margarita and she had a mojito. Shawn was very friendly and quick. The place was packed and he was throwing out top quality drinks like it was no big deal. Once we got a table our server Kayla was very nice and prompt. We never had to ask for anything she was on it! The food was awesome and so were the drinks. My wife and I will be back for sure. Service, drinks, atmosphere and food left me very satisfied. Great experience!

Loved the atmosphere and the waitstaff. We had the queso fundido, very delicious. The guacamole was like sucking on lime though. The margarita I had was great but I think they mistook my order for a virgin margarita. Our entrees arrived and I ordered the prawns with plantains and black beans, the prawns were fishy tasting, YUCK! I ate them anyway to my own peril the following day. They make THE BEST FLAN Ive ever had in my life. This rescued the meal for me. My suggestion: dont order the prawns and make sure they actually put alcohol in your drink.

My coworkers go here all the time for lunch since its walking distance from our facility, yet Ive only tried it for the first time last week. I got the shrimp quesadilla which was PHENOMENAL! I mean a perfect amount of shrimp, cheese, and extras. With the slightly elevated prices (due to the area), I found the overabundance of shrimp, comforting lol 4 starts bc for the same price, I could buy 2 or 3 times the amount of food items from the Nuestra Cocina in the orchards hardware supply store parking lot. Just being honest..

Stumbled in Nuestra Cocina in looking for a different Mexican dining experience. What I did find was authentic Mexican small plates that were both interesting and delicious! The pork tacos are the most popular item here and I can see why. Very simply made and very flavorful - exceeds any street style taco in the city (including Por Que No). Enjoyed several other items including a ceviche which was recommended by the server. Great atmosphere and menu and options, cant wait to visit again soon.

We had a very good dinner at Nuestra Cocina on Saturday night. We had an avacado, shrimp appetizer that was delicious. For dinner, I had the carne asada with beans and pico de gallo on the side. My wife had the carnitas tacos which were excellent. Killer margaritas and a fun atmosphere. Pretty noisy which adds to the charm. Seating outside but a pretty lone wait. But it was worth it. We are from Eugene and will seek this place out next time were in town.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. The food is always fantastic, the drinks are delicious, and everyone who works here is so incredibly friendly. Be prepared to wait for a table (unless you arrive right when they open at 4pm) - just know that the wait is totally worth it. Try the Sopes - a little on the spicy side for those who are spice-wimps (like me) but so tasty!

My wife tried to reserve a time to come in as we had a 4 week old baby and could not afford to wait. They flat out said no, we tried to say we were regulars and just needed not to have to wait there with a new baby. The hostess said you should eat somewhere more family friendly. We have eaten there about 20 times. They just lost our business.

This place is the bomb. I went here for the first time and everything I had was amazing. The appetizers were really good especially the octopus. My main course was also very good and the dessert which was a chocolate pound cake and cinnamon ice cream with almond tequila on top was by far the best. Will definitely be eating here again!
