Drive by this Franz bakery to a) enjoy the smell of fresh baked bread, b) watch the loaves move by through the window of the production line, and c) marvel at the rotating, super sized Franz sign/loaf. This location also holds an annual bicycle race around July/August called the Franz Crit. Its the kind of race thats not boring and there are nice handouts...like bread. Franz is the OG Portland bread and they have an expanded line of breads to accommodate the local, cultural shift towards healthier (i.e. not enriched/organic) foods. These breads are really, really good so dont write them off. Try the Rogue River 24.

Manager must have had a bad day completely rood and spoke to me in a completely inappropriate manner from behind the counter, at first I thought she was joking and didnt realize as she kept up her tone she wasnt! I will not be doing business as long as that particular individual is a presents there again. Spent quite a bit of money there, will do business where mine is appriciated.

Got out of the car to take a photo of the giant loaf of bread spinning on the rooftop. Was lured in by the amazing smell of cinnamon. Went to the outlet shop for some bargain loaves of bread. Then I answered the "Question of the Day" (What year did Neil Armstrong walk on the moon?) and got free cream pies. Awesome.

Cheap bread! Plus if you spend $10 they send you home with even MORE free bread. We never leave here without a big bread of delicious goodness. Also, they have a decent selection of non-bread convenience store items, which is super convenient if you live in the neighborhood.

I thought "outlet" meant it would have all the old bread that didnt sell, but not so. Its the place to get The Good Breads at great prices, much less than what grocery stores charge.

I love that you can drive or walk past their baking line on 12th & Flanders at all hours of the day and see the bread being made. Its really fascinating to see the process.

5 item for $5.00 Saturdays are the total bomb! The 2 free items if you go over $15.00 made this huge bag of groceries way worth it. This is exactly 16 bucks of stuff!

Great deals on Franz products, sometimes half of what you might pay at the grocery store. Also has a small selection of snacks and sodas.
