One star is generous. That being said, I am a believer, have served as a missionary for over 5 years locally and abroad, and have worked for 10+ years in coffee and food service. I have visited this shop only a few times as I am rarely in Gladstone. I wanted to support a good Jesus loving local establishment. Im sad that I have to write this, but I received physical confirmation for what Ive felt everytime Ive been in. This place lacks generosity, hospitality, and integrity. I manage a secular coffee shop in Portland, and these sentiments are what we strive to exhibit...as a SECULAR coffee shop. Last week my fiancée was in and was buying a latte, her card declined. Cards decline for many reasons other than insufficient funds, this was one of those cases, she figured out the problem shortly after, and being integritous would have returned to pay for her drink. In EVERY OTHER CAFE in Portland where I have witnessed this as a bystander, or been on the other side of the counter, the items are comped with no strings attached, no matter what. I understand, if you need to make a policy to make sure people dont take advantage of you as a business, we have one, but her drink was already made, and as she was refused her drink she watched the barista who made it pour it down the drain. If you want to learn how to run a cafe with integrity in everything you do, Id be happy to continue correspondence with you. Until you embody the heart of Chrisitanity as a business, you can rest assured that I, nor anyone I know will ever go to your establishment.

Christian-centered ambiance, moderate prices and good selection. Most of the reviews indicate the wide array of coffee choices and options, many varieties of food options, including a vegetarian breakfast option. I wasnt aware of the Christian focus until I saw the comment/prayer cards, and then became aware of the music in the background. While my preferences in coffee tend to be more neutral, I wasnt dissuaded by proselytizing baristas. The options were almost too overwhelming and there wasnt something that just popped out on the menu that I needed to try. I was greatly disappointed in the breakfast sandwich, which consisted of a veggie patty, egg and optional cheese (I dont use dairy, so I skipped that option). There were no veggies on the sandwich, and no offer for veggies. Given the price, I would have been better served at Subway for less. The sandwich was palatable, but not savory. The chai was a little on the sweet side. The last, bitter taste in my experience were two things: there was a time limit on wifi access. Granted, it s a generous time limit (3-hours), it was still a barrier to my enjoyment of the relaxing fare. Additionally, there was no recommendation for a loyalty club. While this is not a must-have, its a local culture in almost every coffee shop in Portland. I deviated from my plans to try this place out. It wasnt a horrible experience, but I dont think Ill find my way back. Good luck, be well and enjoy your coffee. J

I visited this cafe for the first time last weekend, with my husband and two toddlers in tow. The food selection included a nice variety including sandwiches, wraps, bagel melts, baked goods, and more. My hubby and I are both mocha fans and theirs were excellent - nice strong espresso (but without any burnt flavor) and smooth non-gritty chocolate. The dining room is expansive and includes an homey corner with leather couches and a cobblestone fireplace. The flier on the counter said that they have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings - oh, and free WiFi too. This is a family-owned and run operation - always worth supporting in my opinion :-) Two big thumbs up from our family... we will definitely be going again!

Wifi is a pretty important part of using a coffee shop. In the past was free, fast and very good, now it is a card needed to access, like people are Stealing wifi when MacDonalds is literally a block away with FREE wifi. HORRIBLE WiFi now!!!!!! and no longer worth the Waste of time to even get their coffee. My phone was first refused access with their card, than a 30 minute restriction of NO Wifi with their card, than my new phone with excellent security warned me the Wifi was not even safe to use. NOT EVER RETURNING not worth the waste of time period.

The coffee is typically good, they open early and thier staff is happy to be there. However i recieved a cofee one morning, that is typically good, that was a little off. I returned and communicated this and instead i was coldy offered another drink..at %50 off. I could under stand if i had returned with a half full beaverage 5 hours later but it was full(minus a sip) and within a hour. I was a litte disapointed with thier management.

Love the atmosphere here! The staff, the food, the drinks, and the location is a nice combination that works very well together. I enjoy the occasional musician that comes to the place every now and then and plays their songs. Overall, this location has a lot of good thing working for them. About my only complaint is that the food tends to be slightly overpriced in my opinion, but the quality tends to compensate for it.

Its my favorite coffee house simply because it is perfect for meeting up with people and thats what I do at cafés. Its right off the freeway, 213, McLoughlin and Oatfield, they serve breakfast lunch and dinner, smoothies, tea, milk and juice, and of course, coffee. Great for groups, meals with family or friends, or meeting up for a good game of chess. Cozy, not super quiet, but amazing service and food and drink.

The food was great and so were the drinks. The only bummer is there is a 2hr limit to the Internet, otherwise you need to buy more for another 2 hrs. Im always looking for a place for non stop studying/work, and I felt this got in the way. It is also very spacious and clean. So if you have 2 hrs worth of work, its worth it. Also, there is a religious theme, it didnt bother me but it may bother some. Enjoy!

I work from home and this is the place I always go to hold my meetings. They have a large dinning / sitting area that makes it ideal for meetings. I love the location since it is right off I-205 it makes it easy to tell people how to get here. Everything is always clean and the staff are friendly. They have a great selection of finger food and sandwichs so I can try something different every time.

From the very first day I went there I have loved the shop. The employees are amazing and the owner knows you by name and gives me a hug every time I come in. The atmosphere is like being in someones living room. Amazing feel and comfort! I have been there a multitude of times and each time I feel refreshed when I leave. Support the local and family owned shop....this one needs to stay in Gladstone!

Absolutely fantastic breakfast burritos! Get the spinach tortilla. They come with the perfect amount of sour cream and salsa inside and a ton of bacon for a delicious taste, and none of the heavy sausage grease that usually accompanies a breakfast burrito. Bonnie the owner even delivered to our business one exit up - what a sweetheart!
