Reliable and reasonable: Chequers has an eclectic menu, but nothing to intimidate the less adventurous diner. The butterfly shrimp were surprisingly large (so much so that I had to take half of them home, and that NEVER happens with shrimp!) and tasty. The "gourmet mac & cheese" as a side might not qualify as a true "gourmet" item, but was an unusual twist on the typical bright orange side item that passes for mac & cheese in most places (and this was also a very generous portion and very flavorful. The salad was basic, but very fresh. (Chequers includes celery sticks in this salad; its really more like eating from a fresh vegetable platter). Flavorful home-made dressings. And as always, the fried cheese IS the best appetizer ever. Forget those skinny mozzarella sticks offered elsewhere. These are honking big tubes of battered Swiss cheese served with honey mustard or marinara sauce (or both if you want). Not a cholesterol-friendly menu item by any means, but you have to try at least PART of one. Family-oriented but offers a full bar. This is the place to take visiting family when youre not sure what kind of food everyone likes; or if you just want some comfort food prepared by someone else.

We are a group of 5 guys, right next to the host area and weve been here for 20 min waiting for somebody to look to their right and notice our existence in the hopes that theyll also notice we are just here, looking around...hungry...thirsty...waiting for anybody. Raising hands and saying "excuse me" doesnt help for their eyes never look this ways and even when they head to the host stand and look straight at us, they still dont see us. Are we....are we dead? Because customer service here is. Oh hey weve been noticed! No apology? I...I mean...ok. I just hope the food is good. Its my buddys birthday and the military said "no, you dont get to be home for it". Regardless. Service here is a -10 soooo even perfect food cant save this place.

It looks a little run down & dated but the food is more than decent at a fair price. Quality is sometimes sacrificed for price. Menu is a bit diner-esque, dipping a toe in a bit of everything from pasta to tex-mex. For the best value and taste, stick with the burgers and sandwiches. Be sure to get the spinach dip and house chips as well! Chequers is not a fine dining experience but they dont pretend to be either. The walls are covered with an eclectic assortment of model cars, planes, bikes and trucks and there is always a game of some sort on the TVs. Low-key, casual atmosphere paired with a casual meal. Great for a "Its Tuesday night and I dont feel like cooking," kind of meal.

Chequers is my absolute favorite place to eat in all of Oklahoma. I always hear about Eischens fried chicken and how good it is, well, people need to try the homemade potato chips and spinach dip at Chequers. Every time I eat here, I ask the owner when he is going to bottle it up and start selling it, lol, because I would honestly buy it every chance I got. THE POTATO CHIPS AND SPINACH DIP ARE A MUST FOR EVERYONE! Their steaks are second to none in my book, especially considering the fact that just today I ate a 12oz Ribeye for $9.99. That comes with a loaded baked potato, and also another side! If you are eating a steak, definitely get a Chequerita! Keep up the good work!

Great food always fresh & delicious. Good size portions. Try the house dressing its home made spinach (yummy) & we always get some to take home. Menu has big variety to choose from, but it all tastes great. Ive been a patron for years & have ordered many of the menu items & was always pleased. Clean place, friendly staff, even serves alcohol. Nice for family night or date night but also great for lunch during the week & Sunday after church its rocking. This IS my favorite place to eat. Oh yes, their take out is just as tasty & wonderful. We have never had any complaints. Go one time and you will see that you will be going back again.

WOW! I could not believe my experience here! I mean it was simply appalling! The staff is extremely rude. I mean, honestly, the server and bartender have absolutely no business being in the restaurant scene. First off, I walk into an empty restaurant and the server was actually annoyed that I walked in, like I had no business being there. I immediately walked out and I WILL NEVER RETURN. The rudest restaurant staff that I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. I am shocked that this place is even open. You are better off just going across the street to Applebees.

One of the best Monte Cristo sandwiches Ive ever had! The food here is pretty great for the most part. The waitstaff could be improved...theyre not rude, but some just arent professional enough. A couple of them acted like we were at some podunk diner and were our family or something...just not formal enough in my opinion, and never introduced themselves. Ive served at three different restaurants and it was always important to introduce ourselves and be formal with the guests. It just feels weird not getting that treatment myself, I guess.

Ive driven passed Chequers for years and never bothered to try it. Now that I have, I love it! The food is great.. great selection too! (Even for picky eaters) The prices are amazing! And the service is 9/10 pretty good! Prefer this one over other restaurant chains (Applebees and Chilis). One thing I like most is you will always see the manager/owner walking around and checking on all the customers. He is very friendly. The atmosphere is comfy and homey! I will continue to eat here as long as the service and food stay the same!

My family and I have eaten there off and on over the years and never get tired of it. Sure the place needs a little sprucing up, but the food is always good and fresh. The potato chips and spinach dip are the best around. The chips are crispy and the dip is mixed just right! Im a creature of habit and always get their BLT and have never been disappointed! The service is friendly, attentive and seem to take a personal interest in your order. Chequers is a true secret of Midwest City!

The most delicious steak Ive ever eaten! My wife and I were visiting from Tulsa. My mother in law suggested we eat there before we head home. Man, was that an awesome recommendation! I got a 12 oz. strip, MR, with salad & veggies for $10. Grilled and seasoned to perfection! I should have ordered another to bring home. Mom had the veggie basket, which I hear is always great too! Weve now added Chequers to our short list of places we must visit when were in town.

I have been going to Chequers for over 20 years. They have the best Country Fried Steak in Midwest City, and their home made chips and dip are SO addicting! The only thing that matches the great food are the Employees. They make you feel like family with their kindness and friendly service! Not just the Servers but the Cook, Hostess and Bartenders. I highly recommend everyone to enjoy the greatness they call Chequers. A+++++
