My husband and I visited Firebirds for the first time approximately three and a half weeks ago. We had a party of six. Our friends were more than pleased with their meals and the service. My husband and I was also pleased with the service. However our meals became an issue for us. I ordered the Cajun pasta and my husband ordered the bleu cheese filet. I asked for additional Asiago sauce in my pasta or on the side and my husband asked for no mushrooms on his filet as well as medium rare. My pasta was served and it was rather dry. Our server was more than kind, helpful and willing to correct the problem. My husbands entree was served with the portabella mushrooms that he requested to not have, and his steak was well done. Again, the server was excellent in correcting the problem, however once the problem was corrected some time later, our friends and family were finishing with their meals as we was just being served ours. Due to timely post dinner obligations, we went ahead and asked for a to go box since at that point there wasnt enough time for us to eat it. It wasnt until just recently that I was asked by a friend if I have ever been to Firebirds and what it was like that I decided to actually post a review about our experience. I was so pleased by the excellent service that I received when we visited that I withheld from her the issues that we had with our meals. I encouraged her to go and try it hoping that she will have a better experience. We certainly plan one day to maybe revisit as we would love to know what the food tastes like fresh and not reheated as we had to do with ours since we had to get it to go. We hope for better luck next time! Its a great environment and wonderful friendly staff!

Dinner at Firebirds on Saturday night. Ive been here for drinks after work but this is the first time for a meal. We had a small wait but it was not too bad. There were bar tables open though and we asked to be seated there after a waiting a while, but our table was nearly ready. Next time we may just grab a bar table if they are open. Coconut shrimp entree was delicious. Very crispy and the mango habanero chutney was a great addition. The slaw was fabulous. Also had the small blue cheese filet. It was as good any as of the very priciest restaurants in town. A nice pile of little mushrooms in port sauce on top of a bacon wrapped filet with blue cheese sauce. Not a large plate but very satisfying. The wine list here is very good, and lots of wines by the glass. I would like to see a better selection of craft beers actually on the menu or a separate printed list. Only a small handful of beers was listed. Ditto for specialty drinks. Trendy looking place like this should have a better spotlight for local and craft beers. It would be nice to have the bar menu (drinks) visible when in the restaurant for dining. Ambiance was also very nice. I like a slightly darker vibe, so I would have preferred the lights to be a touch lower for the evening, but it was fine. The service was perfectly attentive but not intrusive. Overall one of the better dining experiences in Mason and well visit again.

Very poor service and somewhat overpriced. A friend of mine and I went to Firebirds for a late lunch @ 1:30pm. It took a few minutes for the bartender to get to us. We both had the draft beer which was very cold and that was a good sign. We both ordered off the bartenders recommendations. Smoke house burger and a chicken sandwich. The caesar salad was simple and over dressed but not a big deal. The food was just ok and not something I would return for. The service is the problem. The bartender would disappear for long periods of time. Several people were waiting at the bar to buy gift cards and random waiters would come around the bar and take care of them. I finally asked one of them for a side ob bbq sauce only for that person to disappear and never to return. Several minutes later when the bartender returned we asked for another round of beers and bbq sauce which took another several minutes for her to deliver. With a name like Firebirds, I expected a wood fired food experience. I think there is a lot of smoke and mirrors as the food is not smokey. Just a run of the mill restaurant with a theme. They do have some pretty cool high top seats that resemble a hotel lounge and a cool fireplace. I would say this would be a cool place for drinks if not for the bartenders who need customer service training.

Ive written about many Restaurants/Bars over the years and have seen the best and worst of them especially having lived in NYC for 20 years. Im very pleased with the business model FIREBIRDS has created, unlike most chains which feel all too turn-key, corporate and impersonal this place has really taken chains to a new level. Presentation.... stemware, flatware, plate presentation, décor, music, lighting, VIBE.. all top notch you feel like youre in a privately owned restaurant not some steak house chain. Service...professional, attentive, sincere and on top of their game this is what youre paying for and expect and they deliver this. Food....The top two are important but at the end of the day if the foods not 100% the other two wont compensate for it. The food is well portioned, very fresh, well presented and fairly priced for the quality that youre getting. I have always felt that a simple burger is the mark of a quality house (most higher end" restaurants FAIL in this),however, these guys make one of the best Ive had to date atop their filet mignon, chicken fingers and fries are all amazing! YOU GUYS DO A GREAT JOB ACOSSS THE BOARD HENCE 5 STARS!!!!

We ate here for the first time last night and it was pretty decent. My boyfriend had the surf and turf and I had a filet – both tasted good, but not out-of-this-world great. For that, the price seems a little steep. We also had the lobster spinach queso, which we both loved – surprising for me, as I do not like seafood at all. The bread was warm and fresh. The parmeson mashed potatoes and side caesar salad tasted great, too – although I wouldnt justify the $5 price to add on the salad. Most steak places offer a salad with the meal, so that was a bit disappointing. The best part of the night was the creme brule cheesecake. Now that was some good dessert! The only, slightly, bad thing was that the service was slow. Keep in mind, it was 7:00pm on a Thursday and they were busy, but by the end of our meal the place had cleared out significantly and it still felt like we were waiting longer than need be for some things. Overall, it was a nice place – beautiful on the inside – and the food was good. Wed definitely recommend and go there again.

Omg, I loved the place but was sad it closes at 10. I had a couple appetizers that I really enjoyed and a few Margaritas that were just Margaritas. I was also sad there was no liquor menu. the prices were fair. The waiter Ryan seemed pushy. Im not really sure why but Id recommend not trying to rush people, this isnt a McDonalds, people dont come here in a hurry. It wasnt just the one employee either. Sorry we came in at 9:20. Since it closes at 10, is there a time before 10 people shouldnt come in? By the time I had 2 margaritas and 2 starters it was 9:50ish and with the lurking and stalking staff I didnt feel comfortable ordering that close to closing time. Id probably go back if I knew a good time within business hours, they have time for customers. I try to be fair but if this place really has such short hours and cuts sales to stay within said business hours youre losing money and need a new manager. If Im locking the door at my work and someone walks up. Im helping them. Customer Service 101.
