Not so good. Its been a while since I went so I thought to check it out again. Big mistake. Food was dry and bland. Didnt even taste like I was eating mexican food. The place has really gone down hill in the last few years. Couldnt believe it was even still the same place. I do not recommend. But hey its not like there are an abundance of restaurants in lake Milton ohio. So if you are super hungry, itll make a turd.

I was recently conned into going to this place. I never spent so much money to feed my dog. The people I went with claimed it used to be better. I believe it because it couldnt be worse. Totally bland and flavorless food. If I had the time, I could go on forever how bad it was and what needs to happen to fix it. But Ill sum it up like this: When you walk into a Mexican restaurant and its all white people, walk out.

Ive been going to El Carlos since I was 8 years old... way back when Carlos, with his belt made of silver dollars, used to dance around with a mug of beer on his head! Ive since moved away from Ohio, but a MUST every time we return is to pay a visit (or two!) to El Carlos. The best chile con queso and chips EVER, ANYWHERE! Its worth the 1000 mile drive every time!

Bland to say the least - no cilantro, no sizzling plates and fajitass come pre-wrapped, salsa was like watery chopped tomatoes & the queso dip needed flavor badly. The entire meal tasted like it came out of a box in the freezer section of a grocery store. The best thing of the night was the fish dinner off the American side of the menu. Very disappointed!!!

My husband and I love this cozy, casual Mexican restaurant with excellent, inexpensive fare and very friendly, personal service. Worth noting: The chips and salsa served as you wait is a cut above those offered at other Mexican restaurants (and even tjpse are good!) These are seasoned, fresh-made chips, and the salsa is fresh!

We tried this place based on reviews we had read and were disappointed. The chili con queso other reviewers raved about was only ok (not rave worthy), the salsa lacked flavor as did the actual meal, and the prices seemed kind of high for what we got. The friendliness of the staff was the only thing El Carlos had going for it.

Closest thing to Mexican food without going to El Paso. Food is tasteful and eating here is reasonably priced. I have had deep fried ice cream at other places but if you want a treat, order it here :D

Food is great and people are very friendly. Highly suggest trying, thier salsa and chips are homemade and there chili con queso is to die for. Its a must. Great stop on a motorcycle ride also!!!

The place was disgusting. It looked like they never cleaned it. I had to wait 30 minutes to take my order. Once order was taken food was quick and good. Kudos to chef.
