It was an awful experience!!! The hostess was beyond rude and sassy to me. My boyfriend and I came in for a table for 5-- we were still waiting for my grandparents to arrive-- and she seemed almost overwhelmed that we had such a "large party". After getting a non-handicapped accessible table I told her that we needed one because I didnt realize my great grandma was in a wheelchair. She got really mad at me and told me theres only one table for that would fit my needs and I would have to wait. I didnt mind waiting because we drove 2 HOURS to try this place out. Ended up waiting an additional 50 minutes to get the only table that would fit my needs after she said it would only be a few minutes because the other party was finishing up. Thats just the begining. Our waitress would walk away as we were still asking questions or ordering and she would just yell back to us with her back turned. Three of us got pulled pork sandwiches-- mine had little to no sauce on it-- and the bbq sauce was just gross. My grandmas shared a rib dinner and they were somewhat decent but nothing to rave about. French fries werent that good and the Caesar salad was drenched and nothing to rave about either. I didnt even eat half of my meal after starving for 3.5 hours to get it!!! Finally when we were asked for dessert I thought how could they mess that up? Well I must put too much faith in people because my boyfriend and I shared the skillet cookie and the cookie was actually COLD like it had been frozen and served on a plate--- its literally called the "skillet cookie". You would imagine a warm gooey chocolate chip cookie? Nope it was so hard it just turned into crumbs. Anywhere else Ive had an amazing experience with this dessert. I dont think we will ever be returning here. Even though we did receieve a $5 off our next bill voucher for spending so much. Hands down most dissapointing meal and service Ive had in a very long time.

Hmm, well first I have to give a shout out to Pittsburgh Pride! Glad to see a true "steak salad" on the menu. We were excited to have Prime Rib, it fell short of our expectations, it wasnt as tender as it couldve been and my husband and I ordered Medium and Medium Well both were Medium Well and too much seasoning, it wouldve been good had it just been kept simple (maybe its our bland Pittsburgh Palette) it changed the taste of the meat, same seasoning was in the au jus. The bread was awesome as was the salad. The dessert which who can go wrong with der dutchmen desserts, except there was a weird pool of wetness under the pie. The wait staff was great and very friendly and made us laugh. The owner who was at a table beside us was chatting for quite some time, when he parted ways I thought he might have stopped by our table just to bid a greeting and I was excited to give some Pittsburgh props, but he didnt, maybe he was busy. I will also say our wall in our booth was kind of dirty and really needed a good wipe down, not crazy major, just something I happened to notice. It overall was just average and Im sure its great with its longevity. It also could be even greater with just keeping it simple. When we left there was no one to bid us goodnight the front was empty and I realize it was closing time, but then a nice young lady did finally tell us good evening. Again, not a bad place or "bad food" would I eat there again, probably, I would be interested in trying other menu items. Thanks so much!

We tried this restaurant tonight since we were in Gahanna. They give big portions and the waitress we had was very friendly and attentive (although we did initially wait quite awhile to be waited on once we sat down). The cheeseburgers are HUGE. I didnt care for the sauce on the parmesan crusted chicken but some crushed red pepper helped to give it some flavor. This is not a big restaurant so I probably wouldnt go in with a large group and the prices are higher than we expected. There were 3 of us. I had the chicken parmasan and the other two people had burgers and fries and both had a side salad and waters to drink. Our bill was $55 before tip. If I am in the area again, I might pop back in and try the meatloaf melt sandwich as it looked delicious....kind of wish I would have ordered it.

Overall a lackluster experience. Went off of a recommendation of a co-worker. Sat at the bar area and the bartender was pleasant. However, when I received my order I received medium well/ well done I asked for medium rare, I got medium well/ well done. When he inquired about the food I told him that this was medium well almost well done and he said oh, then walked away. The sad part was the manager was behind him nonchalantly trying to listen in, but when he heard the comment suddenly he became interested in counting out the register and turned away. I would not recommend this to anyone. Nice atmosphere but for the price I expected a little more engagement and some pride taken in the food they put out.

It is a journey to get to this place and then you cant even tell if its open. All you see is this and some trees around you.. So at night it can seem pretty creepy. Inside is the typical low lighting that you can expect from a steak house. Although it seemed to be lower than what is comfortable. The food overload that you get from this place is worth checking out. I would skip all the fried stuff on the menu. It wasnt done so well and it was just plain extremely greasy. The steak was presented very nicely but it was so tough and lots of tissue to chew through. The saving moment of that was the apple sauce that went along with the steak.

There are several things I order and love at this place. The bbq chicken is tender and the sauce is delicious, the grilled salmon with herb butter .. the meatloaf with garlic mashed, the chicken cobb salad..AND the blue cheese dressing is outstanding...the only dressing Ive had that was better was my grandmothers!! or the filet..all excellent choices. Im guessing the couple of haters didnt ask to speak to the manager of the Hickory House because this place bends over backwards to make your dining experience a pleasure. Thanks Dave, Jane, Shawn and Jimmy. Muah!!!

While Ive frequent been to the Reynoldsburg location, this was my first trip to the Gahanna location. There are some subtle differences between the locations. This one takes call ahead seating, which is nice when its busy, and the other had an hour wait. a few different menu items here, worth checking out if youre a regular at Reynoldsburg, or had been there before. Great job by the staff and management at both locations, and never a bad meal to be had.

The Hickory House in Gahanna never disappoints! I have been there numerous times for lunch and dinner and love everything on the menu. You cant beat the ribs, the wings are delicious and my favorite appetizer has to be the hickory chips. Theyve been using the same recipe for over 35 years, and their fall off the bone ribs are the best in Columbus. Ive never had a bad experience here. If you havent been to Hickory House in Gahanna, you need to go!
