SORRY FOLKS. I grew up BBQ......I cook professional, judge, I am not here to bad mouth. but facts are straight, any one can boil meat in Que sauce, and finish off on a gas char grill. and call it BBQ. after finishing some business in Florida, I drove 2 hrs to check out this place, with so many 4 star review, I said whats up??. the first thing I notice, that there Is no stack for Que smoke??, first indicator, I said maybe they Que off site??. second no wood pile???. third , no smell of good hard wood inside, nothing to indicate a smoker??. the service was great, but poor lighting" cant see what you are eating, too dark" I am old school Que, so my the choice was clear , " pork ribs & pulled pork" I went with eastern style , " vinegar base" when my food arrived, the last indicator" NO SMOKE RING" It was simply baked pork shoulder, them pull off the bone and plated. the vinegar sauce was over powering, and no Que smoke at all. then the last disappointment the pork ribs. they were just boiled????......NOT EVEN FINISHED.....BOILED RIBS WITH A COLD LIFELESS SAUCE... But the up side Is the have the best southern veggies ever, over 29 different fix-ens Dont wast your time on there corn fritters " to much bleach white flour, baking powder ....not enough corn...sorry. so if you want " FOE-QUE"....here the place to come.

Where to begin... our server actually refused to give us just a few of the beers that they offered. Apparently the menu is out of date. The menu isnt really an issue, but when the server actually refuses to give you the beer list, that is an issue. Our server went missing and we sat there for 15 min waiting and trying to flag down the other oblivious servers. My husband finally had to get up and go find someone himself. They told him that our server had been sent home, which was annoying because no one had thought to check on her tables. Two minutes later, we saw her serving another table in another section. We never saw her again at our table. The pork was very plain and we had to drown it in barbecue sauce to eat it. The sides were good though! I recommend the fried okra. A lady who I guess was the owner came around and offered us dessert, but then proceeded to tell us that they were out of everything but ice cream and brownies. After that, she began rushing us to finish our food so they could have our plates. Apparently, 20 minutes before closing they got so busy that they didnt have any plates in the back. Horrible birthday dinner! We will NOT be going back! The best part about the whole night was getting to see ducks running through the parking lot.

Pulled pork BBQ will beat most local restaurants in the area. The chain places are not even close. We have been here many times and have eaten the most items from the menu that one finds in a real southern spot. The owner is usually there onsite and make you feel welcomed. The staff are busy bustling around for all the patrons. Of course, they get busy around the usual meals times. Either wait respectfully, be patient or go somewhere. Go back at a non busy time. Stop complaining! Waited too long? More time to conversate with your family. Food not like back home? You choose not to cook, your mother didnt prepare this, and your not back home...Please try to enjoy time out with your family and stop whining. Staff didnt cater to "your ever beckon call"? Stop feeling like the world must pamper you just because you came out the house and are spending money. ... People - please get out there, relax and help your family enjoy the world.

Me and my husband ate here tonight and in the past Ive always had a great meal but not one like tonight... I ordered soft shell crabs for the first time here besides my BBQ and Ive never had something so gross as this first off they arent suppose to be mushy at all they are suppose to be crunchy and edible and they werent even close Im not real happy with paying 22 dollars for six crabs and getting a poor quality meal Ive had enough seafood in my life to know that this was unacceptable my BBQ dinner was okay at best the Mac and cheese was salty as hell I could even eat that the best thing on that plate was the corn fritters needless to say I wont be back here again Ill go else where to get good quality food at a acceptable price.. BTW rude staff also!!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This place makes excellent food in the always packed restaurant, and we love their sister restaurant (Crab Trap/Sea Hut), so I decided to get my sons 1st B-day catered. WOW!! They did an amazing job, the food was the highlight of the day, and the day was an awesome one! Many meats, lots of sides, labels, on time, good price, great interactions - what more could you ask for as a customer? Ill be using these guys for anything I need catered, for sure. Dont look around, just get in touch with Jarrett if you want the best catering money can buy.

Gross. Me and 2 others were very sick after eating there (all had ribs). Not only that the Cole slaw is nothing but a glob of mayo and went i asked to trade it for a different side the server said "oh we dont do that here we kick it old school no trade out if you dont like something and you still have to pay for it." Really?? Hmm OK. But the worst part was being sick the whole next day. Its cheap for a reason. Listen to the bbq snobs that the others tell you not to listen to! Wish i wouldve.

Ive never had anything bad from here. LOVE their food. Place is small and seating is limited, so we like to try to get there early. The only thing that would count against them is that they are Cash Only. But they do provide an ATM there, but youll pay at least 5 bucks, if not more, to pull money out. In this day and age, being able to take a CC isnt that difficult. But when you have food as great as theirs, you can get away with whatever you want!

Wonderful prime rib, I got it blacked and it was a taste I havent found in many years. I tried the baby back ribs and they seem good, but my quest for good prime rib means Ill most likely order prime rib next time again unless Im looking for a smaller meal. The house spicey red BBQ sauce was good, Im not normally a fan of vinegar based sauce but found there house version to be complex. I didnt try the pulled pork but others with me said it was good.

Jarrett from Hickory Hollow catered our wedding and the food (and service!) was phenomenal!!! It was very reasonably priced, exceptionally tasty, and Jarrett was so helpful and easy to work with! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone (weve eaten at the restaurant several times too) and have already suggested their catering service to another couple for their wedding (they loved it as much as we did)!

My familys been coming here for years and there is nothing that isnt good. Well worth the drive(I live about an hour away now) and the to-go is just as amazing days later. Some favorites: open-faced beef sandwich with au jus, pulled pork, red snapper special(when they have it), squash and cheese, stewed tomatoes, greens, corn pudding...you will not be disappointed, whatever you choose.
