My date and I chose the OBNP after walking up and down downtown Gahanna for the first time and wanting seafood. Our wait was about 30 minutes on Good Friday around 7pm. There is a small bar area where you can order drinks while you wait. There are dining areas on the first and second floors it seems. Originally I wanted to order their "famous" fish and chips, but the only option was bottomless, which exceeded my appetite and raised the price by 30-40%. I ended up ordering the New England Reuben (fried fish) subing coleslaw for sauerkraut and my date had the veggie quesadilla. We both ordered drinks and a cup of clam chowder soup, which was very good. Food service was fairly quick and our meals were a generous portion size. The food was a small step above bar food in quality only. The main negative of our experience was before the entrees, my date spilled a full glass of water on accident. Our waiter only helped by giving us a small wad of those thin, light-brown bathroom paper towels, which was woefully insufficient to absorb the water. He did not return with a towel or something to collect the ice. After using my dates cup to pickup the dirty ice, he did not offer to replace it with a new glass. We were very turned off by this behavior. I have not decided whether I would return for the food or atmosphere, certainly not the service.

Old Bag of Nails is especially suited to couples and small groups. Since its remodel, this location has indoor seating with mild lighting, deep colors, and a crisp pub feel. One of its best visual additions has been the outdoor wooden deck which includes easy access to a small parking area and a close-up encounter with the nearby running stream. The food is a little pricey but it is served hot and to your specification. I have always found the waiting staff and the bar tenders to be helpful and friendly. This is a good restaurant for lunch or dinner, but it is generally an evening hangout with a healthy selection of non-traditional ales & beers. So far, I have not eaten at a restaurant in Columbus with a crispier, more flavorful fish n chips than Old Bag of Nails--and they are also all-you-can-eat at some locations. Enjoy!

We went on a Wednesday, for all you can eat shrimp. Perfect flavor! Nowhere near small, their shrimp is big, fat and lightly breaded. Fries were okay. Coleslaw had a bite. Their BEST is the 10 dollar steamed mussels appetizer. OH. My. God. Heaven. Barely spicy. Buttery. Wine in it. Plenty of Texas Toast. Pure heaven. Skip the food, just order two plates of mussels ;) Janet was a great Server. She was on the ball, kept ordering more shrimp before we finished our baskets. Loved her! Great worker. We tipped her 25 bucks for keeping our family fed, and she was worth EVERY penny. Get the Raspberry tea. SO yum. After you eat? Take a leg out back by the water, see ducks, swans, snakes..and stretch those legs on the walking trails.

A hit and miss establishment. A spectacular location on a river makes for a great outdoor patio environment. The interior is also very pleasing. The serving staff was friendly and quick. The food is, however, a bit hit and miss. My meal was really good (Gaylord’s Fish Dish) but my acquaintances was lacking in just about everything. The sirloin was advertised as being a better cut than a fillet. This I believe is a bold claim that was not backed up in presentation or quality. Steak was well overcooked for what was requested. I suppose it could be one bad cook and we came on the wrong day of the week. In summary: A good place for an outdoor beer but be careful with what you order. FYI: Black Bean dip is pretty good.

My friend and I decided to to stop in during a day of running around. It took about five minutes to be seated (which isnt too bad) and then I could see there were only 3 waiters for this large lunch crowd. I thought for sure the service would be slow, but it wasnt! Our waiter was very nice, he kept our drinks coming and brought us our food very quick. I got the wings and my friend got a quesadilla and we were both very happy. The bill was only 24 dollars which wasnt too outrageous. I would go back.

The Old Bag of Nails Pub is a great choice, provided you time it right. If you go at the wrong time, you can expect a lengthy wait. In the warmer months, you have the option of sitting out on the deck, with a wonderful view of the river. There is usually a separate wait for the deck, which is often longer due to the people out there lingering to enjoy the experience. The fish and chips are great, definitely one of my favorite in the area.

These guys are friendly, and the food is great. They are medium high on cost $80 for a 4 person family without alcohol. But the food and atmosphere are worth it. But do not let them seat you at the bar if they are busy. You will not get good service. The bartender will try. But if the store is busy, the bartender will be busy too, and you will not be taken care of.

Four stars is really good... There is the potential for a really great evening here with creek-side seating, some rather tasty options and good service. Many times you get that, sometimes you dont. Cant beat the location and the food is pretty reliable. I wouldnt count on a great experience every time but an enjoyable time is more likely to happen than not.

Arrived at 5PM, was told it would be 20 - 30 minutes for a table. I could see that there was multiple empty tables and asked why we had to wait. Hostess said she couldnt seat us because it would overload the wait staff. We were seated 23 minutes later and there were 10 empty tables!!!!!! Things didnt get any better.

Only Bathroom is upstairs!! I didnt see an elevator so not an ideal place for anyone with a stroller or wheelchair. The food and service were great. Especially our service. Good atomspere and location. I order a long island ice tea and the fishermans market. The mussels were the best part. Huge portions.

My family and I eat here at the Gahanna location at least twice a month. Service, food, atmosphere are exceptional. There really is nothing on the menu that I have to tried. My favorites are the fish and seafood items but you really cant go wrong with anything you order.
