So I started going to this restaurant over six years ago when my wife and I moved to the area, The restaurant quickly became out favorite place to eat. It was simply amazing and it was all halal! I cant begin to describe the satisfaction I/we would feel upon eating these delicious dishes, like every bite was made by someone who knew what you liked and cooked the dish just for you. (which I guess it was lol) I dont know if it was the renovations over the years or the changing of some (what I feel was) key staff (the cook(s) too) But, the food just isnt the same. Couple of new faces as well. They dont still play the old school Hindi that you would hear from 80s/90s Bollywood classics either. It used to be that myself and my wife would make a point of going every Friday night for our date night and then go to aura theater to catch a movie (another review entirely) and just feel the problems from the week just melt away all so we could start the weekend right! Now.... now just not so much. There is one waiter there that just started when we started going there (you know who you are) that has been the constant and made it worth while to go back, he is the standard setter there and probably a large key the that places ongoing "success". All in all decent place to still go if yo have 20-50$ to burn on a date, side note they do have a buffet that is reasonably priced and decently stocked with variety.

There are some strange negative reviews of this place. Ive eaten at Indian restaurants all over the United States and the rest of the world including India (Chennai, Hyderabad), Thailand (was surprsingly good), and all over the U.K. Compared to the rest of the world, this is solid and enjoyable Indian food. The service used to be sporadic because they were not used to being in the weeds but it has gotten better. The food has always been good though. The reason I give it 5 stars is because its one of the best places to get Indian in Atlanta. The only place I enjoyed better was Madras Saravana - but that place has changed now (it used to be spotty anyhow, one night it would be FANTASTIC, the next night just decent.) In any case, the family sends me 30 minutes each way to pick this food up once a week, and we try to dine in when we can as well. I highly recommend the lamb Balti extra extra extra spicy (Naga spicy!) or the lamb biryani.

I want to like this place, and in the past it was pretty good but over the past few months it has really gone down hill. The first time the buffet was great and we were excited it was so close to home. The second time it was noticeably for the worse . We then had a very frustrating delivery experience in which they were less than interested in providing good customer service. Today we gave them another shot for the weekend buffet. It was bland, not particularly bad but not at all appetizing. It looked and tasted straight from a can and I didnt really even want seconds. There are much better places a few minutes north and although I want to support something closer to home, they really seem to be suffering from poor decisions that are costing them.

Delicious surprise! While in Roswell attending an event down the street we broke for lunch and saw India Chef sign. From the sign I thought we were getting some fast food Indian cuisine. We found a relaxing, very nice interior to the restaurant. Table clothes, cloth napkins, nice music. It was absolutely what my husband needed to relax. The food was perfect! Can I say I have never had such an enjoyable Indian meal before?? My husband likes spicy and I am on the mild side. Whenever I order mild in other Indian restaurants its too hot. This was perfect and sooo delicious. The owner waited on us and was just a joy to converse with. We will definitely return whenever we are in the area. What a joy to find such a wonderful place.

There were not a lot of people there, and the decor style might be called "converted sports bar", but the music was nice and relaxing, and the food was great. Im not from India, so I cant address the "real Indian food" issue, but Ive eaten at several Indian places, and the food here is as good as any of them. The price is about what you expect for Roswell (2 people, $47.00: 1 shared sampler appetizer, 1 garlic nan, 1 shrimp entrée, 1 lamb entrée, 2 mango lasses). We asked for medium spicy, and it was perfect for us. We’ll go again, but I think we’ll try the lunch buffet next time.

I thought my experience here was wonderful! The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, with a savoring variety of spices. I must admit, the location is a little bit funky. However thats a part of what makes it a nice little hole in the wall place to feast. OH BY THE WAY, if you order their their Iced tea, dont expect your typical bland yet refreshing tea. They include a variety of spices & cloves that gives it a very intricate yet enjoyable taste. I will definitely be making my return.

We absolutely LOVE India Chef, and all of the friends weve taken here have loved it too. Most Indian restaurants weve tried have dishes that all taste the same, just with varying levels of spiciness, but at India Chef each dish has its own unique and delicious flavor ... weve never been disappointed! The Chicken Makhni is a wonderful mild choice, though its hard to pass up the Lamb Saag (ask for it spicy, yumm). If youve been scared to try Indian food before, you must try India Chef!

WORST WORST AND AGAIN WORST THIS IS THE FIRST RESTAURANT THAT I AM WRITING A BAD REVIEW IN LIFE. DO NOT EVEN ENTER INTO THIS PLACE. MANAGEMENT DOES NOT EVEN HAVE COMMON SENSE. I AM NOT GETTING ANY WORDS TO EXPLAIN, BUT THIS IS A STRICT AND HEART FULL OPINION. IT IS THE WORST PLACE THAT I HAVE BEEN EVER. FOOD IS WORST, SMELL AT THIS PLACE IS WORST, OPTIONS THAT WE GET WORST. MONEY WASTE, TIME WASTE, AND LOSS OF A WEEKEND.

Good food! Naan was soft and tasty, the sauce variety to eat with the naan was good! I am vegetarian and one of the servers suggested the vegetarian curried option with cauliflower and green peas....that was very good as well. My wife and brother got the chicken tikka masala and they enjoyed it too! Zubeir (sp?) our server was outstanding. I would definitely recommend a family going there for a casual dinner. Cozy seating too!

Worst food i have tasted in recent past. Went to this place as this was near to the Nissan Service center . Ordered for a veg and one non veg thali......Soup offered along wit thali was tasting like Moong dal (Split Green gram)curry. The Palak paneer and gobhi aloo were worst . Samosa offered along with thali had no taste was just maida filled with plain potato.... Will never go there and would not recommend anyone

The food is really good and very authentic. And I really liked the interior decor of this restaurant. From the outside, it doesnt look like a fancy place but once you enter inside, the atmosphere changes. We visited this place on our way to watch a movie at the Aurora cineplex which is a stones throw from this restaurant. We were only stopping by for a quick meal before the movie, but Im sure well visit again.
