Update to five stars: we went back to the Blue Ash location and I can confirm that my previous experiences with delays and so forth were indeed flukes. I had the absolute best tofu scramble Ive had in my life. Absolutely blown away by it. Service was tops. I highly recommend using the Nowait app. The concept and atmosphere of this place are excellent. The menu is well put together and there are options for all types of eaters. Pace of service leaves a lot to be desired. Every time we have eaten at either the Oakley or Blue Ash location, we have waited a long time for our food. Then, when the food arrives, it always tastes like something is missing. I cant put my finger on it, but theres just not as much flavor as I expect, regardless of the dish. Im sure we will return sometime and I hope that my previous experiences were flukes.

On the No Wait app, so get on that before you go... I adore this place. There is always a wait, but it is worth every minute for delicious foods. We frequent Sleepy Bee and I usually drag out of town folks along because it is so good. SB is a little on the pricey side, so keep that in mind, but everything is local and phenomenally prepared. On the weekends there are specials that sell out quick, usually a pancake special and a savory special. Try these. I completely encourage you to go! The pancake specials usually are an extravagant combination of unique flavors from Orange creme pancakes straight up to pawpaw fruit pancakes (who makes pawpaw fruit pancakes??!! Sleepy Bee did, and they were scrumptious). The blue ash smash is an amazing feat of savory and tangy served on local bread. Get this! No regrets ever.

I had been wanting to try here for a long time, but what saved the rating in the end was the food. I didnt mind the 30-40 min wait for seating at lunch on a Saturday. Theres ample benches and we were able to thoroughly look at the menu. The seating was also fine and the interior was nice. What we did mind was the 40 min wait for our food once we ordered, having to remind our sever about getting our first cup of coffee, the servers apathy towards our table (no refills, no cream for the coffee, barely spoke, etc) and the level of noise in the restaurant that made it difficult to talk. The food was very tasty, though, and generous and we loved the different options. We just wish the actual experience matched. Not sure well go back. If we do, we might try a weekday when its not so busy in case that was the issue.

I was introduced to the Sleepy Bee Cafe this spring by a friend who I hadnt seen for a while. Since then Ive been there five times! We had an hour wait which went by quickly as they had wooden benches in a covered walkway and coffee to make the wait easier. The coffee was very good and I was impressed with the unique menu items. I loved the Queen City Bee sandwich. Everything was fresh and the service was great. I love their philosophy of a locally sourced and sustainable menu. It is very popular and therefore busy as a bee! Sleepy Bee is worth experiencing...try Sat or Sun before 10 am for the shortest wait.

One of my favor brunch. They have good healthy options but I never have gotten one because their less healthy stuff is great. I have gotten the blueberry pancakes, the regular buttermilk pancakes, the Blue Ash smash and the Queen City bee sandwich. All were great but I think if i had to choose one I would go with one savory it would be the Blue Ash Smash and my sweet would be the blueberry pancakes. They also have daily special which always sound awesome. So there are a ton of options so you can go back a bunch of times and never have the same thing twice and always leave happy.

Went for the first time on a week day around lunch and the place was packed. A work lunch quickly turned into an hour and a half outing so plan accordingly. I had the Bees Knees burger and the breakfast potatoes. The burger was very flavorful, however it is served on a croissant style bun which easily falls apart and sticks to your fingers. The breakfast potatoes were okay, but nothing special. Over all, the meal was not worth the $14 price plus tip.

Had to wait over an hour even with a reservation. Once food was ordered, waited 65 minutes to get the food. My friend fell as she was getting up from the bench seat she was sitting on. The seat actually broke and caused her to fall and was charged for one extra breakfast. This was all on the same visit. Manager apologized for everything but we will never go back after all that. Not worth the time or money. Horrible experience to say the least.

Service was lacking today. One member of our party ordered a smooth for breakfast, and was done with it long before our cold plates were served. Had ask for a coffee refill as the only thing served hot, after having an empty cup for 20 minutes while waiting for the food that allowed to cool while our waitress was off doing something besides checking on our coffee and serving our breakfast. The place was not full when we arrived.

What I had to eat was delicious and staff was friendly. The restaurant brand uses sustainable sources for many of its ingredients from local farms.I got the Bees Knees burger which had an egg, bacon, and goat cheese. One of the best burgers I have had. The Killer Bee cookie was also a very good snicker doodle cookie with buttercream icing. My coworker and I enjoyed it so much we went back for the same meal the next morning.

We went on a Sunday around 11 am and were seated within 20 minutes and our food came out in maybe 10 minutes. I was surprised it was so quick. The food is amazing. You can taste the freshness of everything and theres so many options for different dietary needs. The Bee Cakes are FANTASTIC - better than regular pancakes. We also got eggs Benedict and goetta and the same was true - fantastic and fresh.

Excessively expensive to an extreme point of downright greed, you should be ashamed of yourselves!! "A place where only the filthy rich and entitled can eat healthy". Hey, I eat fresh, organic, local and home grown alot myself and it doesnt have to cost an arm and a leg, matter of fact its usually cheaper than standard store bought foods.

Often VERY busy near and after lunch time but deserted in the early hours of the morning. The food, by the principle in which it is sourced, is fantastic, but also typically tastes amazing. If youre not a "foodie," or dont really care about where your food came from (or how it was made), then this place is probably not for you.

Great tasting food. Prices are higher than Id like, but the portions and ingredients are great. A little slow overall, but the place is in high demand so be prepared for a wait. We used the nowait app to make sure we could get in without a 45 min sit, but even still had a few minutes to wait for a table. Overall good experience.

Delightful experience. I had their chicken noodle soup, a side of potatoes and coffee. Everything served to perfection. They brought the soup immediately and it was nice and hot. The potatoes were excellent, and the coffee perfect. The atmosphere was friendly and the waitresses were right there to take your order and help you.
