With our third son being 4 mos. old, nights out with my lovely bride have been a bit more few and far between than I would like. So, when we do get a sitter and get a chance to go out, were really hoping to nail it. Fortunately, Nation did just that. My wife and I arrived on a Wednesday night right at 6pm with baby in tow, and we were warmly greeted by the servers and bartender. Actually ... let me back up ... the door handle is a freaking hatchet. And, its badass. While at the table, we went to their website and read the story of Carrie Nation. Do yourself a favor and lookitup, it adds to the experience. So, just wanted to stay, the branding, the design and the execution was spot on. Well done. Its a cool vibe. Ok, back to getting sat. With our baby, we asked for a table that would work well. We were led to kind of a semi-private room with a bench that worked perfect for the car seat. As young parents, you dont always get thoughtful seating while going out with a baby. It just so happens that not a LOT of people at your neighborhood bars are toting around infants. But, the staff picked the perfect spot. We were able to have a nice conversation during dinner as well as take care of the baby, without bothering other patrons. As I walked around the entire restaurant, this was actually a feature that stood out to me. There are several tiers, nooks and creative seating arrangements. This was super intentional in the design, and it came off great. The place works great for groups or private settings. I really liked the diversity that the seating offered. Ok, onto the food. First off, great beer selection. And our server was more than happy to let us sample a few - which is great when at a bar with some craft brews. Between my wife and I, we ended up getting The Hatchet deal and another: Nation burger, Sweet Potato Tots, Whiskey Bacon Burger and Fries. Ok, burgers were solid. I REALLY enjoyed the whiskey bacon burger. The server recommended the challah bun for both, and we went with it. Good choice. I was curious about the ciabatta, but didnt want too much dry bread for a burger. Fries were more than solid. The siraccha ketchup was awesome. But the winner, by far, was the sweet potato tots. Holy moly. It was a bit like eating a funnel cake, and we asked - they do have a cinnamon/sugar coating. But, the texture was spot on. Crispy on the outside, meaty on the inside. Immediately wanted to go back for those. This place has me drooling and wanting to come back. Overall - great food, great service, great atmosphere, and great for a married couple who need a date.

I met with a group of friends on a Friday night (around 9:30pm). Noise level changed up and down several times over the 2 hours I was there, which seemed to depend on the genre of music playing at the time (they have a TouchTunes system). It wasnt very crowded, although parking can be a challenge (then again, the same can be said for almost every urban community bar/restaurant). It has a corner location. The view isnt amazing, but to be honest, thats not what youll be coming here for. The burgers are good, but the tater tots are absolutely fantastic! I really recommend the Totcho style tatter tots. The wait staff was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food came out reasonably quick, was hot and I ate every bite. I will be returning soon!

A brilliant new eatery in the Pendleton neighborhood next to the better-known Over-The-Rhine area of Cincinnati. Welcoming staff, great ambiance in an historic setting and, well, the food, which is incredible. For the most part, burgers, tater tots, and beer, which may not sound very exciting, but the burgers and tater tots are done very creatively, with wonderful flavor combinations, and its all delicious. Good selection of craft beers, and to be fair, an equally good selection of cocktails, salads and other menu items. All with a fun history lesson about the Temperance movement crusader, Carrie Nation. Just a great place start to finish, and I cant wait to eat there again on my next visit to Cincinnati.

My hubs and I came here with our two week old today. Dont go judging! We were having new windows installed at home and had to get out of the house for the day, so we chose brunch here between the butterfly show and museum. The host sat us away from much traffic in a quieter area for the babe. The server was friendly, accommodating, and efficient. My husband had the Cincy Hot Brown and loved it (southern men love their fried Bologna) and I had the breakfast burrito, which I enjoyed. The beer menu had good options and the cocktails looked tasty. We both liked the atmosphere, the food was great, the staff was on point. We agreed we would definitely go back. Highly recommended!

For starters, the bartenders are top of the line. The two ladies, I believe their names are Jess and Sheree were fantastic they made recommendations for my pallet just by asking a few questions. They never missed the mark. When I asked to speak with a manager, Justin came around, I wanted to compliment his wait staff. Justin was more than helpful to us making recommendations for the areas as we are from Ireland. I could go on and on but with our visit to cincinnati, Nation was without a doubt the best stop we made.

I love what theyre doing here. There menu isnt a Bible its short to the point . They know what they do well & they focus in on it to make sure everything is on point & they succeed. Excellent atmosphere & service. Only thing I would say (not negative) they dont take temps on there burgers its just to thin patties like at zipps. Again nothing wrong w that, just FYI. I like a medium rare baseball as much as the next guy but I thoroughly enjoyed there burger & its eat ability (didnt have to unlock my jaw).

This was a great lunch stop. I went with the Temperance Burger and my wife did the chicken wrap. Both were great choices. They even had a grilled cheese on the menu, which worked as a good option for our son. My favorite part of the meal was the delicious bun used for the burger. I think the menu said they were made by a local bakery? Dont quote me on that, but do quote me on the deliciousness. Staff was great. Food was great. Id definitely recommend this spot.

My wife and I have a second mortgage with our tabs from this place, and we dont care. I absolutely love this place for everything about it. The atmosphere is relaxed, but not divey, and there arent TVs at every angle distracting you from your company. The food is ridiculously good, from the creative burgers to the side options, and they have a drink menu that covers everyone. And you can tell they treat their selections with respect. Go here.... Now.

Stopped in on a Saturday around 430 pm with a group of 4 and couldnt have had a more enjoyable experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Had a great table on their patio, which had a cool vibe. Plenty of space here throughout the building. Most importantly, the food was excellent. Great flavors, fresh and perfect portions. Will definitely be returning soon. Thanks to the Nations staff! Top notch.
