I appreciate Beans coffee shop, the location, nice staff, etc. However, I feel the need to make a few suggestions. Not doing so is a disservice to the community that Beans attempts to serve. I know numerous local folks who dont bother going to Beans due to the issues Im going to mention, all of which are very easy to fix. First, I must say its odd to pay for coffee and be handed an empty cup. Sure, at a place like Panera where refills are free and the coffee is no good anyhow makes total sense. Self serve press pots shouldnt be put out in places where refills are not included. But that isnt the only problem with press pots. I purchased a large coffee. The nice staff even warmed the mug because they are aware of how fast the coffee is going to get cold. Still, it was an empty mug. I filled it up and took a cold seat by the window. The coffee was cold before I finished half the mug. But really, the temperature of the coffee is a minor concern compared to the fact that the coffee is far too weak to begin with. The self serve coffee at Beans is no better than the self serve coffee at any gas station in town. A coffee house should be serving up a strong, flavorful, and fresh brew. I have a hunch that the baristas would prefer to pour their customers fresh coffee that they can more easily tend from behind the counter rather than hand people empty cups all day and direct them to the press pots of weak not very fresh coffee. I appreciate what you are trying to do with Beans but serving weak coffee is a disservice to our local community.

Would be a great place for a cup of coffee, but they have a $8 purchase limit. There is no such thing as stopping in for a coffee and a bagel. We even tried adding more items we didnt want just so we could enjoy some coffee on the square, but when the total came to $7.75, they told us they still could not sell to us. What good is a business that doesnt sell to customers. Pass on this one.

Overrated Coffee Shop. It is a step above McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts, but it doesnt hold a candle to Buckeye. Coffee is mediocre (Why do I pay more for me to pour my own coffee??). Lattes are bland and food is over priced. Also they do not let you use a CC unless you spend $8. Real coffee companies (ie. Starbucks & Buckeye) will let you charge any price on a card. Get with it Beans....

The $8.00 minimum is for credit card orders only. Many stores/restaurants have a minimum for using credit cards because they get charged a fee for each transaction. This is a family owned establishment with great coffee/food and a friendly staff. Definitely worth stopping in!

Very nice place to grab an omelet, breakfast sandwich or a bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. I dont drink coffee but my wife says theirs is excellent. Service is always with a smile. Keep up the great work.

Perfect for a relaxing Saturday afternoon study session, good food, decent portions. Right on Chardon Square. Hours are not very good though - if you have a day job you can only go on Saturday.
