Most chineese places in the area focus on cheap substandard food and Ill go as far as to say Chopstix in Akron and House of Hunan on Waterloo are HORRIBLE, but that is not to be confused with the House of Hunan on Exhange downtown or the one on 18 in Montrose--- they are fantastic and have great Sushi too... But Number 1 Kitchen has a great deal on great tasting cooked right and well presented food... more for carry out than anything and right next door to Family Video... They do a great job on the Beef & Broccoli, Chicken & Snow Pea, General Tsos and have very good Crab Rangoon Oh, and also their fried rice is excellent. And by the way, the last time I was there to pick up - my Dad said any time you can see INTO the kitchen at a restaurant... you know they are concerned with cleanliness and presentation.... and you can see right into the kitchen at #1. I give it an 8.8 out of 10 I did have something with seafood in it that was not good... maybe sweet and sour shrimp... cant remember... but ended throwing it away because it tasted horrible but I think it was my taste buds not their cooking. Give them a chance, you shouldnt be disappointed Yum!

After driving by this restaurant for a few years now, my husband and I thought wed give them a try for a takeout dinner. And we were delighted! This is a step above the typical greasy Chinese joints that dot the American landscape. My sesame chicken was tender and generous with the sesame seeds. The fried rice was light and not greasy at all. The cream cheese ragoons were generous with the cheese, but the wons ton seemed a little stale. My husbands sweet and sour pork was also tender with a light batter breading. The sweet and sour sauce was much like many other places. All in all, we found that we do prefer this restaurant over the other local Chinese restaurants of the same caliber. The gentleman who waited on me, was friendly, helpful and even asked how I found them. I admitted to Googling for the restaurant name. We will be coming back!

One of the best to go Chinese restaurants in the area! Great customer service-Jonny is absolutely amazing! His memory for repeat customers and their orders is downright astounding! Hes very accommodating to what ever you want- I order different things together that simply are not on the menu (Shrimp w/ mixed vegetables, brown sauce, add cashews with white rice) - no problem, not much different in price, and delicious. The crab Rangoon is the best in the area too!

I have been eating here for about six years. The food is good but the service is terrible. I actually stopped going so much because of a few reasons. First, is the service. Each time I place a take out order the same man who answers acts like I am bothering him and hangs up on me. Forget it if you have a question. And second is that they dont give out what is on the menu. For instance it says you get a ragoon, egg roll or soda with lunch but you dont.

This place is just excellent. This is some of the best Chinese food in town (Or, that I have ever tasted), and also, the owner is really nice! The owner also gets the time to know you. He asked us, "Why do you always get the same thing?" Easy. Because we love it. Since we were regular customers, he gave us a number one kitchen calender. Over all, I think that this restaurant stands out. I would recommend it to ANYONE who has a taste for Chinese food.

Little shop on the corner style. Staff was extremely helpful, friendly and energetic. While there for our first visit, every customer that came through the door was known by their first name! Thats how ya know a place is gonna be good! No delivery but well worth the drive to come in and get it. Ive been in Ohio for two months now and havent been so excited about a place to eat yet. This place had me smiling from the minute I walked in!

I ordered the chicken and broccoli with lo mein noodles instead of fried rice the dinner so it came with a egg roll at lunch time (lunches come with ragoons or something), cost me $7.75... well worth it. Couldnt even eat half of it so it is two meals. Very delicious. I called and they said my order would be ready in 20 minutes, got there and it was ready and waiting. Perfect service. I love this place.

Im pretty picky about Chinese food and I really enjoyed this. Im a big crab rangoon fan and these are among the best Ive ever had. They are large and very tasty. They dont skimp. I had the broccoli chicken and it was pretty good. I look forward to going back and trying another dish. But Ill still have to get crab rangoon again. That was the bomb!

They have good food but terrible service. If you dont mind calling 15 minutes in advance and then getting there and still having to wait 15-25 minutes for your food then this is the place for you. Spent over an hour waiting for my food during their "lowest peak in business" hours but still had to wait.

Best Chinese food Ive had in the Akron area. Me and my girlfriend are what you can probably call a weekly regular here and we love it, best General Tsos and Crab Ragoons Ive had, and Ive had lots of Chinese food all over. Love the atmosphere. Definitely a must go if you love Chinese!

Probably the best tasting Chinese food place in the area but they deff dont wash their hands after taking out the trash. We saw the man take the trash outside and come back on and get straight back to cooking. Never again number 1 kitchen!!!

Omg. This place is awesome! They are so kind, and we get calendars. They always ask: "why do you get so much food?" The answer is: There is a lot of us, and its good. LOVEEEE there crab rangoon! :) Awesome place to go to!

We tried it Friday night. Food was bland except for the rangoons, real problem was I started to not feel well with- in a hour of eating , three of us had cramps and diarrhea. wont go back!!

We LOVE Number 1 Kitchen. The crab ragoons are aaamazing. Everything is very fresh and yummy! Enjoy! We do at least once a week. I am going there now to pick up dinner! Yum!
