The sushi is alright. The egg was soft and tasty. The teriyaki pork and mushroom that I had was not authentic at all, but what do you expect? Anyways the mushroom was tasty and soft, while the pork was slightly hard. The miso soup was relatively authentic but it was too bland. Also the tofu was soft but it had a weird aftertaste. I think it is because they use a relatively cheap tofu. I personally dont think I will come back to this place again, but I am not going to deter anyone from coming because the food was good, its just not authentic. Perhaps I am too critical, but I hold every Japanese restaurant to the same standard. The service and the price is very reasonable

Their food is quite good, but their service is exceptional. We were there with our two year old daughter- the owner gave her the kids chopsticks and even showed her how to use it, waiting and encouraging her to try it herself. When our daughter got fussy, the waitress brought her oranges to cheer her up. There were children at other tables and we noticed all the staff making a genuine effort to talk to them all. We have several favorites around Winston, but this is a place we will return to simply for the way they made us feel while we were there.

Kimono is delicious! This is a regular place for our family for dinner! Delicious quick hibachi and Sushi! Would definitely recommend. I havent had a bad experience here. The service is pretty good, though the front desk seems to be hiring New a lot. Prices are great for what you get, much better then other places- though I have seen them go up over the time which we have b en coming - probably the only down side I have to say about this place.

I had the worst experience here the waitress was extremely rude and ignored our table the whole visit until she wanted us to pay. Being the only minority in the restaurant she would come over and say "do you need something? Yes or no". This is not how you talk to people. Ask my food was overcooked but I cant not even to speak to her at this time because of how rude she was to us. I will never return.

From the moment you walk through the doors the atmosphere takes you away to a place you could believe is in Tokyo. By the time the exceptionally quick service brings out your food, if you dont already feel like youre in Japan you will after the first bite. The sushi is amazing and when the check comes youll be reminded of how reasonably priced the food is. Although they dont have crab rangoon.

From my experience working at a Japanese restaurant, Ive had my share of good food. Im sad to say Kimono was not traditional nor did it live up to my expectations. It has been very Americanized. The Miso soup tasted like dirty water and was flavorless. The salad wasnt fresh and the ginger was dry. The only reason I gave them a two was because they had great sweet tea.

Pretty awful. Frozen gyoza soaked in grease. Miso soup not made with a proper dashi and light on the miso. Tuna was the kind treated with carbon monoxide and frozen in precut blocks. Used escolar instead of White tuna. Sashimi slices were jaggedly cut and sometimes not even cut all the way through. Noodles for the kids entree was boxed spaghetti.

We were recommended this restaurant by a local as a "real" place to eat. The location was amazing. We walked across the street from our hotel, The Brookstown Inn. It was charming and everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The prices were great and the food really good. I was glad we had a refrigerator in our room for the leftovers!

Most horrible bulgogi Ive ever had!! ( it was carry out ) Too much soy sauce .. NO SPINACH, sesame seeds, green onion... NOTHING.. Their version is more like beef and gravy (never had it covered in some corn starch mixture...) if youve ever had authentic food you will be disappointed ... Never eating here again

Went there for a quick luncheon with a friend... I had never been there before. Ordered a simple dish that cost just enough and got my plate and it was full and worth every mouthful lol the service was great they checked on us several times I will be going to them from now on.

These are all over. Great family atmosphere. Beer & Wine available! Lots of sushi options. Good price es. Food is good. Outdoor seating available. The spicy tuna salad is my favorite. I also love their Gyoza & fried dumplings. A few appetizers and a cold beer and you are set!

The clear soup was salt soup. How can you mess up clear soup??? The salad with ginger dressing was withered up plop of what seemed to be shredded carrots with very little ginger. My hibatchi chicken was bland. This is not a place I will come back to when in Winston Salem.

My experience was as great as always. My family eats there at least once a week. Their food is very good better than arigatos in my opinion and I dont have to pay a cell phone bill to eat there with my family! In otherwise great food with reasonable prices!

Friendly service, but the good ends there. They cut corners with the sashimi they served us. We ordered the "omakase" which was extremely disappointing. Fish was not fresh and texture was off. Sorry to say that Ive had better grocery store sushi/sashimi.

This place is great. The staff there are very helpful and friendly. We go about once a month and just cant get enough of the place. The Geisha roll is the best and any of their rice dishes are awesome. Great value and wonderful food.

Service is rather good. Size of dishes are big. The taste is definitely not Japanese - more like American-Chinese you would expect in a Chinese buffet. For this level the price is alright. They dont even have Udon.

Three stars = Its okay Expensive. Food was alright. Okay portions (correlates well with the price). Nice atmosphere. Nice waiter. Not much I could say about Kimono. Only been there once.

Definitely the best Japanese food in Winston-Salem. Great sushi and their typical Japanese dishes are the best around. Go for the filet over the steak. Worth the extra few bucks.
