I actually work at one of the busier restaurants in the plaza, and I have ordered there at 10:40pm or even 10:45pm fairly regularly. I went to go order my usual for me and my girlfriend to-go and they said, "Were sorry. We are closing up.". I have even had times where I wanted to order something at 11:45pm on nights when they used to be open til 1. All I would get was, "Were sorry....rest of the restaurant closed. Sushi bar opened til 1.". I am sorry, but you all need to tell everyone that you cannot accept to-go orders 15 or 20 before close. If you all are wishy-washy about it, people will think youre being arbitrary about it and get insulted. Dont answer the phone that close to the closing time, or else people will think they have a "hope" of ordering something. Spell it out for people EXACTLY what time for everything is closed. Otherwise dont forget, YOU ARE IN BOCA. If people think youre closing at 11, then they will believe you will take care of them as long as they walked in 5 min. before you close. It is not something I would recommend, but this is BOCA. You give THEM what they want, or THEY go somewhere else. I am one of the ones that will partially "suffer in silence", and probably not give return business after many years. Shame.

The manager or owner of this restaurant followed me out into the parking lot to scream, argue, and cuss me out after I left in a huff due to his response after I told him theyd need a mop for my table. We were leaving the restaurant after our meal and we were letting him know so nobody would slip because the waitress had spilled a lot of our soup across the table, on to the floor, and even all over my feet. His response? "Oh what do you want me to do? Smack her around a bit?" Yes I did put a lot of force into pushing the door open because of my anger, but you do not follow me outside, well into the parking lot to scream vulgarities at me when Im already about 20 feet away. You do NOT have the right to talk horrible things about my mother, you do not call me a fat b**ch, and you do NOT threaten and try to scare me as if you plan to hit me, a women, just because I also was shouting and cussing back. Anger gets the best of us all. The difference is that you dont treat a paying customer that way when they come to you with a legitimate request. Avoid this restaurant like the plague. While the food is somewhat decent, nobody should ever be treated in the manner I was treated.

Went here last night when Yokohama Sushi in East Boca failed to deliver (you can read my review over on their page), this place made the crappy experience over there worth it! Loved the food, loved the service, loved the location and decor. Great experience all around, reasonably priced with an expansive menu. I see people on here talk about them nickel and diming you which may or may not be true in comparison to how they used to be, I dont know, but I do know they didnt charge my fiance and I extra to have brown rice in our sushi rolls which most places Ive been to do. I didnt see anything out of the norm in terms of pricing, very reasonably. Took a take-out menu and we will be coming back again and again! PS - Tempura Cheesecake = AMAZING. Best Ive ever had. The breading actually has.. you know.. FLAVOR. :D

I would suggest avoiding this place. We were offered the chance to wait 20-25 minutes, or be seated immediately outside. We opted to sit outside, along with 3 other tables that were already seated out on the patio. We waited for 30 minutes and saw no servers come out to help anyone; another patron next to us went in to complain, and we did manage to get some water. But, after only 1 table got appetizers after another 30 minutes, we opted to leave. The manager was even our server, but never let us know what was going on or ask if we wanted drinks. If the manager cant see whats going on, we dont have much hope for anything else going right at Sushi Yama.

Something was very wrong with our Tuna. Smelled gross and tasted even worse. The rest of the fish was subpar at best. You would expect higher quality, fresher fish, at the price you pay here. Service was prompt but I felt like our waiter could care less about us. Seemed very unfriendly. The soy sauce on the table tasted like it was expired, and the rice for our sushi has way too much vinegar in it. Terrible experience overall. Wont return again.

Well, the customer service was not up to par. The young lady was in a little bit of a rush and I guess it because they closed at 2am and we arrived at 12:50 lol. So to make a long story short the food was actually pretty tasty and very affordable but dont let that fool you, they give you enough on the plate to feed a 2 yr old. Now be prepared for the major bubblies 15 mins after you eat. You might need to invest in some tums lol.

Quick seating. Not bust when we went. Fast service great food. We started with the grilled squid with ponzu sauce. Let me tell you it was absolutely delicious! Then we both ordered a noodle soup. I had the crispy duck noodles and my girlfriend had the seafood udon. Both were amazing. Just be careful with the hot chili oil. I put like half the container into my bowl and instantly regretted it lol.

Absolutely the best environment I have been in when dining at any restaurant period. No I dont work there or know anyone who works there. My girlfriend were about to grab a sub at publix next door and decided to check out their menu. We sat in a tatami room. The music was awesome after ten. Our server was f-ing awesome. Im dumb excited to come back.

Food is good here, I usually enjoy their sushi or their soups. I havent order much else from here because in sound on those 2 things. Their service can be slow most of the time, and the views when sitting outside can leave more to be desired. Inside there are private sitting and kneeling areas where you can gather small groups for a good meal.

On my annual visits to the area, this place was my sushi place. Sometimes twice a week. Visited recently and was sorely disappointed. Sashimi slices are ludicrously small, some items appeared to be industrial and thawed. Dont much care for the new and darkened premises. But I can live with that. Bye, bye Sushi Yama!

Me and my friends waited for our food for almost two hours even though the place wasnt busy. When we wanted to cancel the orders the waiter snapped at us and yelled! Horrible service! We didnt get our food and they still tried to charge us!!! Me and my friends are never coming here again! Absolutely terrible
