This place gets away with being "good" because they serve sugar covered sugary things. Their actual food is seriously under seasoned and sometimes not even seasoned at all. Cooking 101: use salt. My last visit included the worst grits Ive ever had outside of a hospital. Bland, watery, no cream, no butter, no salt. Horrible. My omelet was much smaller than it had been in the past, and nothing inside, including potatoes, was seasoned at all. No salt, no garlic, nada. The toppings on the omelet were also missing. The portions were small for the price. The waiter forgot my coffee twice, only visited my table once in an hour span, and they werent even busy. I tried to love this place and I really wanted to, but its not even close to living up to the hype. Pancakes covered in pretty sugary toppings that you could find at Dennys does not redeem bad food or service. If you want a killer breakfast in Wilmington, visit Dixie Grill or Sweet n Savory Cafe. Do not waste your time here.

The menu has a lot of variety so we were excited to try this place. Upon entering, we greeted by a less than welcoming staff- the hostess was running around like a banshee with her head cutoff. The normal rule of the bar seats are first come, first serve does not apply here- you must put your name in with the banshee. Once we finally received our seats, we placed our order. Before our food came out, we added pancakes. The pancakes came out first before our original food order. While waiting for our food, we witnessed half the staff working at a snails pace while the other half tried to keep it together. It literally took one girl 15 minutes to slice 3 lemons (which is prep work and should have completed before opening). It looked like a bunch of kids trying to run a restaurant that were in desperate need of adult supervision.

To start, I work in service. I understand being understaffed and busy. So when the host said 15 minute wait it was not a big deal. We waited right outside with the rest of the people waiting to eat. 25 minutes later I start wondering whats going on and go inside and to my surprise I see four empty tables and five bar seats open. The host was running around putting waters on all the tables... when I asked him when we were going to be seated he said hes "getting it ready" and continued placing waters down on empty tables.... we left. Wasting time sitting outside while they put waters we didnt even want on a bunch of empty tables while customers waited outside is unacceptable. I gave two stars instead of one because Ive eaten there before and the food was good which is why Im even more disappointed.

This place on first appearances is very well done and an excellent menu. We (my gf and I) went here 3 or 4 times, loved it. Then...on the last visit, we were sat at the bar when a new server came over to us, she was visibly exhausted and annoyed that we sat down. Being my extroverted self, I asked whats the matter? To which she replied, I have mono, but not the contagious kind (as she coughs into her bare hand). She asks would you like coffee, to which we walked out. I will never return to a place where the management doesnt send sick employees home. That is a serious health code violation. How do you want your eggs? With mononucleosis? Avoid this place at all costs.

My husband and I literally sat the bar for 15 minutes without having anyone give us menus, take our drink order, or even welcome us. I had to walk up to the check out counter for the server to give us a menu and asked for her to take our order. Even after that, she gave us menus and was snappy, like it was an inconvenience for her and didnt come back to take our order over 5 minutes after I asked. Needless to say we left.

My goodness, those cinna-swirl pancakes, they dont even need the syrup. The benedicts, especially the Cali. benedict is amazing. The cheese grits, mmmm. The fresh squeezed OJ is a perfect, liquid naval orange. The coffee is wonderful. The service is even always top-notch. I love it. So youre not surprised, make sure that if you go at a prime time, youre ready to wait for a bit. Just know its worth it!!

My first and only visit wasnt good. The service was quick, the food was good but the cockroach crawling on my arm and across the table was disgusting. We quietly brought this issue to the attention of management and were told "we spray for bugs and we have a good sanitation grade." Cockroaches crawling during the day is a bad sign of a major infestation. Will not recommend this restaurant!

I absolutely love this restraunt! I came here thinking, oh another Kays breakfast place is opening up (Kays was good too, but I wouldnt go out of my ways for it), but I was amazed at their food selection. It has all of these awesome tasting foods that hit all the right spots. Im pretty sure theres not a meal here that I couldnt enjoy as a student looking for a good meal.

Food is good but expect to wait at least 45 minutes after you order to get your food. Service is always slow weather they are busy or not. We had to wait 45 minutes for a kids French toast and all the food came out cold. We come here a few times a month and its consistently this way.

Stood there for 15min in line for the hostess to take our name. She completely ignored us and took 2 other couples names and a family of 4. The food that I seen looked great but the service needs some work. From looking at the other reviews Im not the only one who thinks so.

Mike and all of the staff at Eternal Sunshine are great. I love how creative the specials are, and they definitely use quality ingredients. They are also very accommodating to my dietary restrictions!! I recommend this place to everyone who comes and visits Wilmington!!

The food here is high quality and selection is plentiful! Its small and delicious, so plan accordingly if you go during a busy time like brunch or dinner. An entire page of Benedicts, omelettes, or light lunch fare...I suggest the crab or the berry french toast. :)

Always fantastic. I have worked on both sides of the line all around ILM and this place knows whats up. Why no 5th star? I dont know, why would a hostess be rude to customers waiting to eat in her establishment? Glad we made a special effort to get my in-laws here...

Good food but small location and not great for bigger parties. Go on a rainy Tuesday morning and youll get a fast seat and a nice breakfast. Go on a sunny Sunday for brunch with four friends and you might wait a while. The Benny menu is tasty though!

Eclectic breakfast spot with normal breakfast food. Located in a complex next to a few thrift shops. Quaint spot with good food and fast service, minutes away from the beach. Overall it will satiate you before you go out for a tan.
