Just not the same as it used to be. My husband and I loved this place and have been to the downtown location numerous times. We compare all other cupcakes places to this place. But when we went in Sunday afternoon (9/1/13)it was a horrible experience. The girl did not give a #*@&. She was downright rude and unhelpful. My husband and I laughed and joked and she just stared us down like please leave. The quality of the cupcakes has declined as well as the service. The cake (chocolate) was dry and tasteless. I didnt even finish it. We normally buy at least a dozen while were in town but we got one each this time. Not sure what happened but it was disappointing and annoying.

My husband and I recently moved back to Wilmington and love sweets. We went in to Coastal cupcakes to try out their stuff the other day while walking around downtown in the afternoon and were blown away. We got 6 different flavors and every single flavor was awesome! The cupcakes are moist, the flavors are perfectly balanced (not too much or too little frosting either), they taste homemade, and the price was great! We will definitely be using them for all of our cupcake needs in the future. You have to try to them!

I am more than impressed with this company and their customer service. I live in a different state and my Mom works downtown Wilmington. It is so nice to have a welcoming go to, only a phone call away, willing to deliver and add a sweet note! Flowers are nice but cupcakes, cant beat that! Thank you Coastal Cupcakes for helping me let me Mom know Im thinking about her when I cant be there!! Her office raves about how delicious they are too!

Stopped in here during a quick trip to Wilmington, and got a really delicious peanut butter and chocolate cupcake. With a bottled water, my bill didnt reach the $5 limit for using my credit card so I *had* to also get a little crueller doughnut thing ("crocake") they also sell. Definitely not complaining--they were both delicious! Highly recommended. Parking is paid street parking only and theres no place to eat inside.

Ive tried the downtown location several times and have been disappointed every time. The cake is dry and more muffin, pound cake like, and every bite requires a full glass of milk. The icing in the Boston cream was gritty and the cream wasnt even throughout the center. Doubt I will try it again.

Came here very excited to see many flavors and great flavors but they are pretty simple ordinary cupcakes . I go through many cupcake stores to check out flavors and this cant be the best but not the worst either.

We tried their Friday cupcakes, pink lemonade and chocolate stout, and they were fantastic! Great for a quick treat and break from the sun. Definitely coming back again when were in the area!
