Came here on a Friday for lunch, around 11:45. The restaurant was pretty empty, but had filled up by the time we left at 12:20 Service was nice, and prompt. I got a pulled pork plate with mac & cheese and baked beans. Everything was great. My mother got a chicken sandwich, and they didnt skimp on the chicken at all. She couldnt finish it. The bar was well-stocked, with a good selection of local drafts. I got an IPA from Booneshine, which was very nice. My mother isnt as sure of her tastes in beer yet, and the bartender was very happy to pour her a few samples to find one she liked. The decor was "country general store," which isnt exactly to my taste, but standard for the area.

This place is just awesome. Awesome food, awesome service, awesome outside seating. If live music happens to be playing then your stress levels will immediately drop by 20 points. If youre in the area or need a picnic lunch to take to grandfather mountain then you cant do much better than Old Hampton.

Outstanding BBQ. Everything is homemade, mac and cheese is out-of-this-world its the best Ive eaten, be sure to save room for the blueberry cobbler desert. Just off the beaten path but well worth the journey, a real locals place.

Ive been visiting while on vacation in the area every year for nearly 30 years. Great destination for families with kids-- candies and marbles sold by the pound as well as cookware, cornmeal, preserves, etc.

What a wonderful experience! Craft, local beer, great food, live music, a parking liaison, and just a good time. I would highly recommend, especially after a good hike in the gorge.

I ordered the chicken plate and got 4 thin little slices of chicken fo $10. On top of that, they were dry dry dry. Worst bbq ever. Wont be back for sure.
