For those who enjoy a good drink, the draw here is obvious: there are more than two dozen whiskeys (to say nothing of ryes and scotches and bourbons) from near and far and enough appealingly creative cocktails to inspire a mad quest to try them all. But even those who don’t imbibe can find a lot to like at 913. Don’t let “I’m not a whiskey drinker” keep you from giving this establishment its due. To begin, 913 is a very comfortable place to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat. Three different seating areas (bar, main, and patio) ensure that there is enough space to go around. The ambiance is classy without being stuffy: think somewhere between sports bar and martini bar with the friendliness of the former and the panache of the latter. Service is another plus here. Steven, one of two bartenders on duty during our visit, proved to be quite knowledgeable and helpful in guiding my fiancée toward a whiskey. Instead of trying to upsell, he took the time to listen and explain and ultimately made a very good impression. Wait time for food proved to be minimal as well. Though it wasn’t crowded during our visit, all indications are that 913 runs a very tight ship. Further, the food gives credence to the idea that “southern kitchen” is more than just an afterthought. The menu offers up both tried-and-true classics (wings, collards, okra, pulled pork, chicken and waffles) as well as some novel combinations (a gouda/mushroom/okra/garlic sandwich). My fiancée rolled the dice with The Farmhand (a pesto/tomato/mushroom/okra flatbread topped with two cheeses and various herbs) while I opted for a smoked mac and cheese (with pulled pork and tomato onion jam) sandwich on sourdough and tater tots. Neither of us regretted our decision. The sourdough held the sandwich together well, and the mac and cheese within was creamy without being overbearingly rich (the tomato jam added a hint of sweetness). The flatbread likewise offered a great fusion of flavors and textures. At $8 and $10 respectively, both dishes were reasonably priced and well worth the money spent. Honestly, there is very little not to like here. The hours are somewhat limited (5 p.m. to 11 or midnight, four days a week), and if you don’t luck into a space across the street, finding parking can be a guessing game. That aside, 913 offers a good combination of food, service, ambiance, and affordability for whiskeyphiles and teetotalers alike.

I selected 913 as it had good ratings and was close to an appointment I had later in the evening. Definitely a huge disappointment and if you glance through the reviews, you would have to think they are paid for once you experience the service and food of this establishment. The poor experience started outside. Parking seems nonexistent and if it does exist, it is a mystery to the customer from outside. Once inside, there was no host for about 15 minutes and the bartenders would look over with no concern that guest were not being greeted. Finally approached the bar and ordered my entree and cherry smoked old fashioned. The barbecue pork tasted as if it came from a microwave, was dry, and the $8.00 a bottle sauce left a lot to be desired. Parmesan fries were disappointing as well unless you like fries with a few shreds of dry Parmesan on them. Old fashioned had potential but was not stirred, which made the first sip horrendous. Ice ball was a nice touch, but about the only thing good in this restaurant. The guy that came in next to me ordered a salad and they forgot to put the cheese on his salad. Most waitresses were coming to the bar asking questions on how to serve their patrons and the second bartender seemed to be in training. Certainly does not seem like a well managed or organized facility and if the service I received is their standard will most likely have the building up for rent within the year. Final touch was the bill, was in a hurry by the time I received and paid with $100.00 cash. Change was brought in all fives for a $20.00 total bill. Maybe they dont have twenties as this does not seem like a higher end restaurant.

The bar was full, so we had to sit outside, which was fine, until we were told that we have to get up and get our own drinks every single time... I mentioned to the waitress "let me get this straight, your bar is full, and we have to sit outside, but I have to get up and get my own drinks? Why dont you serve us and we tip you?" She responds "sorry, cant do that, its our policy." You kidding right? You get us drinks, we tip you; a win for everyone? Guess not.. This was pretty much the icing on the cake for me. Especially after having to endure the short dude with glasses and dark hair the last two Fridays, who seems to hate life, and makes you feel like hes doing you a favor by making you a drink...if anyone reading this had the pleasure of ordering a drink from this mister "personality" on a Friday night can attest... however the tall guy that was working with him on those nights is the exact opposite, hire more of him... If you guys need a customer service consultant, Id be glad to help..

Seriously crave this place weekly almost. It wouldnt be a 913 visit without the waffle looking pieces of cornbread and a specialty margarita. My man always gets something off of the whiskey menu but I still like my tequila so I always order the Blackberry Basil Margarita and my man ends up stealing sips of mine - its THAT good and made with such care. Perfect place for a date night. Do yourself a favor by sitting at the bar to be able to see the drinks being prepared. Its such an art!

I have just walked in to the most magical bar, it is like that place in your heart where love is formed. The best part of this bar besides the beer is the angel they call a server named Sarah. This is the first time since I was divorced that I have smiled. Thank you bar 913.

Amazing Whiskey selection and Whiskey cocktails! But even if Whiskey isnt your thing - the food was truly scrumptious and the drink selection was broader than expected (I had an amazing watermelon mojito)! Great place for dinner any time!

Late drink with my best friend. I had a gingerbread bourbon drink. It was great and the service was awesome. I did try beer for first time in a long time and it was actually really good. Thanks, Anthony!!

Didnt try any bar drinks, just came for food. Limited menu, but everything was top notch, chic and waffles were excellent. If they could expand menu just a little, would be 5 stars for sure

Amazing whiskey selection. TERRIBLE food. Ive never sent food back in my life, except at this place. Ordered the pork mac & cheese, all it was was vinegar. Wings were tasteless as well.

Very disappointing. Totally unprepared for the Roger Waters show and the crowd. Waited forever to get drinks and never got food. Rude and awful bartenders. Will not be going back!

Great high-end cocktails. Also had some delicious bar food there too. A little expensive, but if youre looking for a quiet place for a few drinks you wont regret going here.
