Today was our second time eating at ABEC, and we have decided that it was also our last time. Multiple empty tables in the restaurant yet they still made us wait 30 minutes before being seated. The waiter took forever to come and take our drink orders, and even longer to bring the drinks back. He never bought napkins or silverware to our table. The manager had to bring them to us after I pointed out that we did not have any. After we received our food, the waiter stopped by the table exactly once before he brought us our check. I had to take our tables empty glasses to the bar to get them refilled myself, because he never came back to refill them, and I could not locate him anywhere near our table to flag him down. His tip was reduced (but not eliminated) to reflect his lack of service. Now about the food. My husband and I both ordered the andouille sausage, and though I received one piece of sausage sliced in half down the middle the first time I ate there, this time they only gave me one side of the half-piece of sausage. Also, though my husand and I each ordered the combo that was supposed to have two eggs, we both received the same amount of eggs that were on my sons kids meal plate (one egg). In addition to that, my husband ordered the mixed berry pancake, and the dollop of whipped cream almost completely covered the strawberry compote that was supposed the be on top. Id estimate there was about a teaspoon of strawberry under the tablespoon of whipped cream. They seem to have gone out of their way to give us as little value as possible for our money. There were so many things wrong with our plates, that we decided not to try to point them all out. We have decided to allow them to keep their food from now on, since they were so reluctant to part with it when we were willing to pay them to. The good things about the meal was that my kids said the chocolate milk was delicious, and the sausage and bacon also tasted good. We wont be back again.

I took my family there (6 guests in total) on a Saturday morning. The restaurant was not full, and there were available but un-bussed tables that could easily have accommodated my family and the guests that came in after us. Unfortunately, we were quoted a 20-30 minute wait time, and they lived up to that low bar. It took 20 minutes before the tables were cleaned and another 10 before they were set. All the while, the maître d blithely stood there, more interested in the restaurant iPad than mollifying customers who were clearly getting irritated. When we were finally seated, things went smoothly, mainly through the efforts of our waiter who was clearly stretched thin. Im guessing they had staffing problems; hey, I used to be a bartender. I get that. But when that happens, you get management out front making nice to the clientele and keeping things flowing. Instead, they left the service experience to an iPad zombie. I give all credit to the hard working waiter, though. He knew his job and did it with aplomb. Ive eaten here before. Things have been trending towards chaotic over the past year or so; this is just the worst of the episodes so it stands out. I probably wont give up on ABEC, but it will be a while before I come back; hopefully theyll get it together. Next time, Ill drive the extra mile or so to Elmos. Its busier and there will be a wait, but at least Ill know it isnt because no one can clean the dirty tables, and the wait staff are always better on customer service.

If i could choose a negative number to describe my visit, I would. The way I was treated, along with two other people, was absolutely disgusting and ridiculous. The waiter argued with us and gave us an amazing amount of attitude that is typically only seen on toddlers and tiaras. The waiter brought my food out wrong, which happens so i asked for it to be re done. The waiter told me that he did not write it down wrong, i simply ordered it wrong. My waiter continued to have a screaming match with me in the middle of the resteraunt, saying i was wrong and being dramatic. I asked for the manager and my check. when the manager came over, he didnt introduce himself but stood there and stared at us until we decided to tell him the problem. Meanwhile, the waiter yelled at us across the restaurant and the manager stood there not even looking back. The waiter is the reason my generation is treated so poorly in society and we believe that the waiter and the manager should be reprimanded for their behavior because it was absolutely disgusting and embarrassing to be treated so poorly.

This is my first time here and oh my oh my! I love it here. Its still busy and we waited about 30 minutes for a table for two but they gave us beignets for our wait. So nice! The food - everything I have here is awesome!! Shrimp and grits - YUMMMMMM Cajun crawfish skillet - decadent Cinnamon Roll French Toast - OH MY YUMM - please order this!! Your taste buds will thank you later The bacon - WOW - YES GIMME MORE Coffee - its ok. A little bitter. It yummy with some cream and sugar. Fruit - so fresh Waffle Sliders - ANOTHER AMAZING DISH So as you can see the menu is broad. Especially because brunch is usually can be slim pickings. But here - you have plenty of options. I love the locations around the triangle. I wish they had this in Los Angeles. If you are in the RTP area please stop by here! Dont forget --- they close at 2pm!!!

June 19th visit ~1pm. Horrible service! Stay away from the Durham location at all costs! First "host-ice" completely ignored us because she was flirting with window-washer, then after we had to wait for that to finish, host-ice finally acknowledged us but absolutely no eye contact, sat us. Then no server ever showed and the place was mostly empty and just nasty, dirty used tissue on seat and the floors and other tables were all dirty. We just decided to leave after 10 minute wait and host-ice just ignored us. What a very non-professional place. Never going to this restaurant again! Again very poor service. Everyone that was working there that day should be fired!!! Too bad some bad lazy, non-caring employees can ruin a restaurant! We had a great experience at Briggs since that is also close to Duke Hospital.

A terrible place to eat. There were 6 of us in our party and it was on Thursday 8/10 at 12:30. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated(lots of empty tables) and over an hour for food. The pancakes were burnt and hard. The fruit on top was at least 2 to 3 days old(strawberries were dry in spots). My English muffin was soggy from the poached eggs and the hollandaise sauce was curdled. The first batch of coffee was not hot. It was an awful experience. Someone recommended this place. What a mistake. This is the worst food we have ever eaten and if there was a way to get our money back we would. Unfortunately they do not offer a refund or a chance to redeem themselves for this awful food. DO NOT GO THERE YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. Even one star is too good for this place.
