Took my parents here for the first time early on a Sunday morning. The decor was dated and crowd sparse, so I worried that the food would be substandard as well. No need for concern, however. The food was delicious! My father, who has eaten biscuits and gravy from coast to coast, declared Golden Eggs offering the "best biscuits and gravy" hes ever eaten. High praise from a man that orders them everytime he eats breakfast out. Even if everything else about the meal had been horrid (which it wasnt!), the bicuits and gravy alone would have left him a happy man. It was truly the restaurants "golden egg" so to speak. The pancakes, omlets, country-fried chicken, and waffles were all good as well. The server was friendly and personable and went out of her way to make us happy. Our bill for four people was only $36, which included our drinks too. What a bargain! While the decor may be as old-fashioned as the cooking, but the overall experience was an A+! Great job!

Had a great country fried (beef) chicken breakfast. Great hashbrown and have been told the corn beef hash is really good, I try it the next time. Coffee was very good (most diners I have found have terrible coffee). They leave a pot of coffee at the table like the Village Inn. Even when it was busy the staff were great. Real pleasant place with a mixture of local customers and tourist. Local customers leave their personal coffee cups for the next trip to the diner. The coffee cups, with the persons name on the cup, are displayed on shelves next to the cashier. Nice down to earth place with great food.

My family was on vacation in Surfside a few months ago. We stopped for breakfast twice during our weeks stay. I have to admit the food was awesome. The first visit I had scrabbled eggs, pancakes and sausage and I could not finish the pancakes. The second trip I got the banana waffle and again could not finish it all. Friendly staff, fast service, and great food. It was funny to see how their parking lot zig zagged around other local business. Obviously a very popular place and none of us had a bad thing to say after either visit. Highly recommended.

Firstly, I am still in the restaurant while writing this review... Its that good! Katie was absolutely Fantastic! I like that the tables arent right on top of each other so that you are bumping into other patrons (like other places). Grits were Perfection, so were the eggs! I am puzzled by the negative reviews (maybe competition..?) We have 5 rowdy kids and we were made to feel at ease throughout... Very Accommodating Servers! A waitress that wasnt ours even helped take empty plates, Awesome Job and experience!

We chose Golden Egg because of the reviews and proximity and were so glad we did. The building was packed but our wait was only 5 minutes to be seated, very polite host. Our server Kayln was amazing, gave options and suggestions and checked in several times even though it was clear she was very busy. Our food took 15 minutes to come out and was delicious!! (Famous Barnyard, Country Fried Steak) We will definitely be back. Thanks Kayln :)

Great variety of breakfast & lunch. Each server has a lovely personality & is attentive to each aspect of your meal. Often the owner will come by to check in & thank you for coming by. The first time we visited we saw a wall of shelves lined with coffee cups each labeled with the name of a local who eats here on a regular basis. Here coffee cups were an immediate tip off that this is the place to eat at when were in town.

Ordered the Golden Egg special, of course. As a hash brown fella myself, the home fries were pleasantly delicious. Eggs were cooked to golden perfection. As far as the pancakes go, I would have preferred ordering the waffle or the French toast. Bacon was also cooked with the right amount of crisp. Only one piece was too fatty for my taste. Would I come again? Yes. Wold I pick it over other places? Probably not.

Very nice we ate here the first morning of vacation. Its a cozy little restaurant lined with mirrors to make it feel bigger. The place was crowded and I had to look for parking. Our waitress never left us longing for service, our drinks were full the entire time and she kept checking. We both ordered silver dollar mini pancakes and the portions were so generous we couldnt finish them.

We live in Surfside Beach and go there often. Excellent food, staff & atmosphere. Owner truly cares about his costumers. They treat everyone like family whether youre a regular or first-timer. Portions are more than generous. Chicken philly sandwiches are the best. Have never had a complaint about any menu choice. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place & the staff.

Heard a lot about this restaurant from a couple of people so I figured I would give it a try I was not impressed and was very underwhelmed the food was mediocre at best and had very Bland taste there were workers cleaning up the restaurant that were basically cussing and talking about the customers in Spanish all in all I will not be returning there

On vacation from GA, picked this restaurant because it had the highest points. This was a good choice and we will be eating here tomorrow on the way home. We both got the country fried steak and it was good. The food was Harty and hot. Price seemed fair. Lots of room and wait staff. They were friendly and kept the table happy and the glasses full.

The service is great here. My omelette was the meat lovers and it could have used some sauce or needed to pour gravy on it for it not to be so dry. The biscuit was great and the gravy was okay. Overall I think they have great options to pick from and great service. Everyone elses meal was great...i just wont order the meat lovers or recommend it.

Went there having high hopes. Had high reviews 4.8 plus and ended up in a fairly standard diner. Food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Sausage patties were grainy, cinnamon roll was more cakey than bread. Other food was fine, but not a 4.8 review. Ill go to eggs up grill again over this anytime Im in Myrtle Beach for breakfast.

Everything was going great until my husband told the waitress that his potatoes werent crisp. She said "well, itll take 30 minutes to cook them darker or 5 min to fry them." We didnt want either and told her no thanks because her tone was snappy. I dont understand why the chef didnt fully cook the potatoes before they left the kitchen.

Golden Egg is literally THE best breakfast place Ive visited in quite a while. I visit my friends in Myrtle Beach occasionally, and Ive never been to such a fantastic establishment. The food was quickly ready, very reasonably priced- and the best part of my visit was Beth! Such a sweet lady! Thanks for making our morning delightful :-)

New shirt lol You gotta love this place! The food & waitresses are great! They get the food to your table quick no matter how busy and always very yummy! I tried almost every breakfast place and will never make that mistake again! Im a little confused about not being able to sit booth with a high chair but thats my only complaint.
